Pink had no luck there, but other missions are being planned. Wink

In the meantime, there's one interesting link on the webpage here: http://ivankrotzler.com/links.html

http://www.mpu-berlin.org/ is coming up as 403 forbidden, with text reiterating the above in German. Can't find any links to it anywhere else on the interwebs.

unfortunately no luck at 1710 w. mission bay drive / Dana Hotel, supposedly the doctor's practise of ivan krotzler. no ivan krotzler, and neither viktor larenz, living there or waiting for / having left a message... did i miss something? there was a "Tessitura Conference" scheduled that day at the hotel, but a quick web research brings nothing up, really.

facebook

i've been lurking around this one for the past few days and like a few others i have just facebook'd ivan krotzler to see if i could get a response. The address given on his website seemed phony. Also as i am a beginner ARGer i hope to help end this mystery, and gather a little more experience.

Ivan's site

Howdy all,

Complete ARG noob here. Reading this thread has been a great intro into the genre. A couple of things:

About mpu-berlin.org. I too got the error message. So I tried mpu-berlin.COM. That's a site in german. Using Google translate I found that it is a site having something to do with people who have lost their drivers licenses because of drinking and the MPU which is a medical examination.

Reading this forums tutorial/FAQ (this is day one of ARG for me), I came across steganography. This rang a bell for me because of something I saw on dear Dr. Ivan's site. There is a photo of an inkblot on the About page. This photo stands out for me because it seems unrelated to the content of the site. Haven;t gotten beyond that....

Just thoughts. Good luck everyone.

Gort

Unless you "post reply" your message comes up as a new thread.
And welcome to uF, by the way. Hope you have a great time!

It's interesting that it is the "Dana" hotel. I'm not necessarily saying that it's a kloo, however the coincidence is odd.

Contacting Ivan

Wow it's been a while since I've been on this site. Apparently I've been away so long my account was inactive, so I'll just post like this until one of the kind Admins takes the time to unstick it for me. This game looks intriguing, so I added my contact info into the mix. We'll see what happens. Not that it's super important, but this is the message I sent him: Hi. While I am not yet sure who broke into your office, some friends of mine have received what appears to be your patient data. Can you think of a reason why someone would go to all the trouble of stealing it just to distribute it to strangers? Perhaps to discredit you?

I'm hoping that opens the door for him to go from there. Or maybe we're not supposed to tell him that much and he'll just ignore my message Razz Regardless, it's good to be back. Spacefish makes the best cookies Wink

Ha, figured it out on my own. Back in business.

At one point, a couple of hours ago, I was all tucked into bed with a book to read for a little while before turning out the light.

That book was Therapy.

I am now so het up about it that I've been reading for hours and came back down here to my computer to do some more searches and check stuff (ooh, the mpu-berlin.org site is showing signs of life!). All the transcripts we got are close to verbatim to those in the book, with maybe slightly less detail. Earlier, chat was trying to nail down the location of where they went in the third session past the Orthodox church and I think that's spelled out in the book, for instance. Anyway, this damned book has me all worked up and I have no idea if I'll ever sleep again.

The ARG player's lament. Razz

As addlepated said, http://www.mpu-berlin.org has been updated with the following:

Quote:
Medizinische Privatuniversität Berlin

Hier stehen wir Ihnen schon bald mit unsere neuen Internetpräsenz zur Verfügung. Bitte schauen Sie demnächst wieder vorbei. Berlin, 2009

or, in English

Quote:
Berlin Private University of Medicine

Our new internet presence will soon be available here. Please check back again soon. Berlin, 2009

I like that it's in German, despite being part of a game aimed at an American audience. Maintains a sense of realism.

a whois of MPU-BERLIN.ORG gives some curtain raising contact details, so I won't reveal them here Smile
but it was registered on 16th March, so one to keep eye on.
