Escher beschäftigte sich auch mit der visuellen unendlichkeit. Die gekippte 8 kann sich also direkt auf Escher und ein bestimmtes Bild beziehen. Da gab es doch einige Bilder die mit perspektivischen Boxen spielen.

Escher used to deal with visual infinity too. The tilted 8 could therefore point to Escher in particular, and to one special picture. There were some pictures that dealt with perspective boxes.

I posted the following information already on the irc network. The eye on the original babel-research page (right top of the page) is an illustration by M.C. Escher (// E=MC²), who "is a a Dutch graphic artist and is known for his often mathematically-inspired drawings".

Watch closely: http://boszininja.com/bamako2009/escher-eye.jpg
(skull, X-46, ... ?)

Escher also re-illustrated the "Tower of Babel".

Babel => Babel Group; Babel Research

Original: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel
Escher's Version: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel_(M._C._Escher)

The Babylonians attempting to build a tower to reach God. Maybe that was also the intention of Babel-Research ... to play God. "Unlocking the universe ...". Both "groups" failed.

Another questions:
Why is the Eye by Escher replaced in the anti.jpg with the "Eye of Horus" - "an ancient Egyptian symbol of protection and royal power"?

Why there is an infinite-symbol in the header (top-left)? We should analyze the history of the symbol: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Infinite

What's in the box? The hell or God? ;-D

Grüße aus Deutschland // Greetings from germany!
MrPotter

When I was an art minor for a semester everything I studied was revolved around surrealism... Escher often signed his work w/ "X-##" being the year it was created... "The Eye" was done in 1946.

Rise of the Dirtnappers?

Ok, this is really a reach, but I figured I'd throw it out here anyway.

When I searched for whatsinthebox.nl I came across a result that pointed me to what looks to be another film project by TimSmiT. And, at the bottom of the page, our beloved box.

http://www.whatsinthebox.nl/riseofthedirtnappers/

Sorry if it's already been brought up.

Thanks, Observer... any new content from the site is a good find... how did you come upon that? It looks like TimSmiT entered in planet terror make your own trailer contest for the netherlands release of the movie in 2007 (GREAT flick, btw). Interestingly enough he didn't win, although the trailer is great and funny (with boobs, heads-up... Zombie boobs nonetheless) not sure how related it. I'll tear the poster apart in a little bit with photoshop, just to be sure though.

I'm starting to thing that when Timsmit created WITB he knew that all this was going to happen. So after 2 or 3 weeks since the start of the web, he googled for forums and reviewed what did we discovered. More we discover, more he tries to confuse all of us. I have also noticed that in the youtube video comment there was a four (written with 0's) when i visited for the first time (middle of march) and in april now it's a 0 written in 0's... Was that a countdown? Also have you tried to make a "index of" babel research or whatsinthebox.nl? I mean to navigate trough the folders of the website an see them but like in an FTP program? Also in march there was a flash animation of the box and it didn't used any other resource of other website. Now the flash animation and the stream are in babel-research.eu and putted in WITB website. Why?

Greets!
