We already knew about the article, we already knew about the percents and were already dicussing them. We already knew about the exif data on the magazine picture, in fact the picture was apparently taken AFTER it was posted on the web. (some kind of time shifting thing).

If we knew the username it would be easier to brute force the password. User might be timsmit, password? geometry?

Leonardo Bore is interesting, both Leonardo and Bore (not Bohr) are the last names of famous scientists.

Name was Leonardo Bode.

He just changed the youtube description, it now reads:

Didn't that Kreis-guy say "Leonard Bode", not Bore?

Also is anyone able to read the text in the bottom right corner of the bottom magazine?
It looks like "The Jul.... is walking"...

TimSmiT - Thibaut Niels

This is interesting... I don't know what to make of the pattern with the 0s, but the capitalization in TimSmiT almost implies that "Tim Smit" being a palindrome is somehow important. Also "Thibaut Niels" was of course in the credits on www.whatsinthebox.nl so that's nothing new.

Kreis did indeed say Leonardo Bode (not Bohr, not Bore, and not Leonard). But, since Leonardo Bode doesn't exist, maybe we could assume Kreis actually meant for the clue to be "Bore" or "Bohr?" Like an intentional typo?

I don't know what to make of the youtube description...

it's 34 chars across, but it looks like it was made to look the way it does, knowing that the "." is half the width of the "0". So I don't think the character length is important... if monospaced, it would look
Code:
00000000000000000
00000000000000000
..............................0000
..............................0000
..............................0000
..............................0000
..............................0000
..............................0000

the credits (haven't checked to see if it's posted yet, so trout me if so) read:

Quote:
PRODUCTIONS presents a MYSTERY OF MYSTERIES production "WHAT IS IN THE BOX"
writers TIMSMIT THIBAUT NIELS music created by STEVEN ROETERS director of photography TIMSMIT production design THIBAUT NIELS TIMSMIT
special effects TIMSMIT screenplay written by THIBAUT NIELS TIMSMIT website complex by TIM MEEUWISSEN TIMSMIT film editor TIMSMIT produced and directed by TIMSMIT THBAUT NIELS

edit: n/m, it was posted back on page 2 Razz

K, I am officially out of this thread, because apparently no one here can post original information.

well we just did now so come back plus there wasn't much to add to it at that point. Could the 0's be science related?

So I was looking at anagrams and one for Thibaut Niels is 'Lesbian Uh Tit'

It's his porn stash in the box you guys. I'd hurry up and try and open it.

EDIT:
Hahahaha, anagrams for Leonard Bode(haven't tried Bore):
Loaded Boner
Bearded Loon

My porn theory is looking credible now.

Leonard Bore:
Reload Boner

hahahahahaha I'm sorry but this is too funny.

Probably because this is generating quite a bit of buzz on several sites and this thread has been linked to on some of them. That's actually what led me back here (haven't been here since PerplexCity!)

Be nice to the new ARGers folks!

And for the new people: Welcome! There are a bunch of good guidelines to follow, but some quick ones are:

1. Don't re-post something that has already been posted (check the thread). This gets harder as the thread gets longer, but searching can help. If you do end up repeating info, someone will kindly (hopefully) hand you a TROUT: Trout

2. Don't use brute-force attacks to "solve" a puzzle (e.g. finding the FTP password by running a computer program against it to break in). If you can't solve it elegantly with some educated guessing, you're on the wrong track.

3. Be nice.

Folks here also have some unique terms (like TROUT). For definitions see the Glossary

I noticed many such terms in the anagram searches... Unfortunately I haven't seen anything very useful yet. I always hated things hidden with anagrams... Too many possibilities Smile

Guys, please don't brute-force your way into anything (unless you're supposed to as part of the game, that is). Be nice to the PM. Smile
