WASITACATISAW -- Was it a cat I saw? Yes it was. If you look at the bottom of the babel home page long enough, a cat will apear for not even a second and dissapear.

After right clicking it -

Old News

helloIamacow, The cat is old news, and that image was found long ago.

I sure hope this whole thing ends up being an ARG after all. It seems so aimless right now.

well, dude wants to make a 90-ish minute video out of it. he's probably testing ARG stuff through this... it is interesting, though, isn't it?

Not sure whether this has been seen before:

Any chance of a translation here?

I tried to do it as accurate as possible, but i'm in a rush Wink

Here you go :

Tim Smit: The movie that I put on youtube is a test for a bigger story.
It's about a mysterious box.
This box is found by a main character, that woke up in a world and he finds himself
alone in this world.
He doesn't know how this is possible, so the story is about him trying to figure out what's going on
and along the way, it will turn out that that box will have more to do with it.
Interviewer: So there's more?
Yes there's a lot more. Thibaut and I came up with these ideas a few years ago.
Interviewer: Did you expect the mass attention you would get from this?
Thibaut Niels: No absolutely not. It was a test and it wasn't completely finished.
Clearly you can see the potential this project has but we never expected this to happen.
Interviewer: There's also a site, called WITB.nl. What can we do with that?
Tim Smit: Well it's in fact a "Launching-Platform" for the film We try to add a little information step by step, and we want to see
if people are able to understand and decipher everything.
Interviewer: Can you tell me a little more about the effects?
Tim Smit: Yes. They're made by me, it's my hobby. I love it a lot and in Holland it's not that big because dutch filmmakers don't
like it as much as they do abroad. I also liked showing all the effects in this demo film because in the larger project
the effects are even cooler and bigger.
Interviewer: Do you think the effects and all, are the reason for the mass interest in the film?
Tim Smit: Well the complete atmosphere around it is attracting people. The music and the effects, so yeah it's probably the reason why.
Tim Smit: Okay, if you want to know what's in the box, you have to check the site because there's a lot more to find there.
Thibaut Niels: Oh and one tip, check the page's source.
Tim Smit: The source of the webpage that is.

Yea I suppose you have a point Very Happy

Also, thanks for that translation.^^ Very interesting. When he said they had been planning it for several years, that explains allot to do with the old page from the archives and such. And the part about how they are adding a little more as they go is encouraging, because it eludes that there is still more coming (as part of the ARG that is). Very Happy

By the way, the Visual Confirmation codes on this website are nearly impossible to decipher! I failed it about 10 times. I had to clear my cookies to keep trying because it was going to not let me post.

I've been checking the site tonight and I just found out about the whole ARG thing going on behind it. So here's my two cents:

Checking the source of the relevant webpages, I found this:

Quote:
http://www.babel-research.eu/witb/
referred to a file named:
<!-- /snd/jables.mp3 -->
That contained a reversed audio file of a speech-bot saying
"Local protection team report back"

Quote:
http://babel-research.eu/
referred to a file named:
<!-- /snd/hidden.mp3 -->
That contained a reversed audio file of a speech-bot saying something inaudible except from the word "November".
After tweeking the audio sample in Audacity and Soundbooth, I came up with a transcript saying: "Going to November"

Then there's a lot of funny html code on the Babel research website. Various elements contain non-existend css classes "combi" and the "key" attribute is not valid html at all. It's just there. Probably a piece of the puzzle.
Code:

       <div id="logo" onclick="Javscript: document.location.href='/';"></div>
        <div id="search" class="combi" key="ff00d0">
            <form method="post">

                Direct Access<br />
                <br />
                <input type="text" name="theBoxIs" class="inputField" title="The box is = ????" value="" />
                <input type="submit" value="login" class="combi" key="8e01ff" />
            </form>
                    </div>
    </div>
    <div id="our" class="combi" key="daff00"><div id="littlesecret"></div></div>

I'm not sure what the use of these things is though. I've tried entering it on the http://www.whatsinthebox.nl webpage using the input field of the lower side of the box, but it didn't work.

Interesting however is the fact that these numbers are also displayed under your mouse when you hover over the bottom section of the circle.

Oh and last but not least:

Hovering the bottom part of the circle on whatsinthebox.nl gives you the input field right.

So I entered Hanso, as it was accredited on the Babel Research website.
