technically they've done that, a bit, by removing the actual link to the Hanso site, even though the logo is still there.
But now people are googling and finding the hanso site. *sigh*

well pressure is an interesting theory but it just can't convince me.

Birds are killed in both films once each time. It's a kinda sign for the upcoming "explosion". At the same time people begin to have nosebleed, then you will hear a very high sound, shortly that "thing" at the peak of the babel tower explodes.
That's what happened, right?

It actually looks more like some kind of electromagnetic radiation to me.
Something filled with high energy, that can kill some less complex life forms instantly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Electromagnetic-Spectrum.png

I guess this scheme can perfectly explain what we see and hear before the "explosion":

1. there is some kind of high energetic electromagnetic radiation being sent out that causes nosebleed and dead birds
2. then we have some less energetic radiation that causes white noise
(2. clip at 0:34)
3. then we can hear a very high sound which means the frequency and energy are very low now.

High frequency sounds cause bleeding, true. For example the security fences in the Lost-series. But these are fairly low, so don't think they can harm people.

Electromagnetic radiation sounds good, but I'm not really sure if it can "damage" us that bad in such a short notice..

things tend to affect fragile animals before it's dangerous to humans....an example being the use of canaries in coal-mines. Animals also act in advance to things like earthquakes and other natural disasters. Not that this information helps much..... high or low frequency sound wave could create enough vibration to cause brain hemorrhaging and I believe is a more probable event then a dramatic increase in barometric pressure...'Idea'or maybe both happened; a sound wave was emitted along with an increase in barometric pressure 'Wink'

So, low frequency sounds cause bleeding too.. (?) Well mkay, but we couldn't hear the sound that caused the nosebleed. So that has to be below 15 Hz.. There is a low frequency sound at 0:17, but don't know if it's from the tower.. (Sounds like it though.)

Here's some interesting, real-life use (or misuse) of low frequencies: link

OK, so far here are some screenshots I did.

Magnetic (?) noise while of recording:

And the exploding pipes, are the same as in the test video.

Test video:

Bridge video:

Now I wonder, whether they weren't really exploded, since the test video (the first What's in the box video) showed us the later moments as far as I understand it.

some messages from thibaut niels to me: in dutch im sorry:
Eyyy Christiaan,

Groeten Thibaut

and:
Eyyy Christiaan,

Thibaut

Thank you for your comment! It is still good with the "what's in the box? Project! We have held talks last week with 25 different small and large Hollywood production companies. That we have 5 who in our eyes were the most interested and give them a summary of the story details. To our great surprise they are all very positive! The story here and there will still be adjusted because it was not yet fully out. But they would like us to make a movie! So now the task for us to carefully think about who we want in the sea. That is very very difficult, but this week we will have to take a decision. Then we will talk with writers and the story will slowly convert to a script that can be filmed. But I'll have to keep abreast of further developments!

Regards Thibaut

Eyyy Christiaan,

Because of the interest from Hollywood, we can not yet reveal what is in the box. You'll have to wait for the ff movie that we hope to make!

But yesterday we have a small movie whatsinthebox.nl put on that a couple of hours playing the test video. So if you like to see, well then you really have to search!

Many puzzle fun!

Thibaut
