This looks strange. I don't know what it is or what it has to do with, but it's definitely not what I expected.

Posted in the other thread.

Thanks to you and Dante for that.

Quote:
Although the Greeks and Romans typically scorned Egypt's animal-headed gods as bizarre and primitive (they mockingly called Anubis the "Barker"), Anubis was sometimes associated with Sirius in the heavens, and Cerberus in Hades. In his dialogues (e.g. Republic 399e, 592a), Plato has Socrates utter, "by the dog" (kai me ton kuna), "by the dog of Egypt","by the dog, the god of the Egyptians" (Gorgias, 482b), for emphasis

Don't think it's connected. Sad

Yeeah, that was posted in another thread, so I don't think it actually has anything to do with this game...

Hey folks. Been following for a little while and decided to jump in as well.

That personal belongings like backpacks are scattered around is odd. If the city was evacuated, people would probably have been able to take what they carried with them.
Still, the amount of traffic (what appears to be) out of the city in the beginning of the news report on the witb site reminds me a bit of evacuation.

Also, I've been thinking that the #anti\Paine part of the pro.css and anti.css files may - albeit a little farfetched - refer to painkillers of some sort. The fact that, as someone mentioned, the main character doesn't seem to be affected by the sound in the end of the video may indicate that the pills are of that sort.
I believe a theory like this has been presented earlier, but the "anti pain" reference got me thinking a bit more on this.

In the case of nuclear chemical or biological disasters anything unnecessary is left behind to avoid spreading contamination. Even small things like clothes, bags, or watches.

A lil side note to your pain killer comment: Valium is a common anti-dote for certain nerve agents.

But ¿we are talking about a chemical or biological disaster?...in the video i just see something like a big portal...but is true that in the other video (flash one) we can see how the entire city is surrounded by a wall...

If its an invasion (7 hour war related) you dont need a wall surrounding the city ¿dont ya thing?

(sorry for my english Spanish dude here)

Yes however, this is why I think it was an NBC(Nuclear, Biological, Chemical) disaster.

http://babel-research.eu/images/army_evac.jpg

Along with the "Exterior Radiation Level" counter in the lab in the video.

Also were ren't entirely sure this is half life yet.

I think oxdeltaxo's right about the issue of chemical or nuclear contamination. Remember the display (probably) measuring the radiation outside the lab in the beginning of the film. I didn't think about that possibility.
But, if the city's quarantined, where are the people we see in the news report? Shouldn't they all be in there? And why should they drop their bags if they're not getting out of the city?

i know is not halflife related but i take it like an example of an invasion.

About the lab i also noticed the radometer (it written like thtat?) so i supposed the guy in the lab used to worked with some kind of nuclear thing or the zone is so close to something radioactive (like a nuclear plant/reactor). Also the guys with white suits looked pretty familiar to me...maybe is more probable a nuclear accident...
