[SKY][TRAILHEAD] The Sky Remains
Hazels Latest Project (I hope)

Email just received from Agentssplattheskyremains.com :

Dear Russell, Within these frames there's a way to carry on
Step through the doorway to the answer that's beyond
Without the dark my journey has no end
With you my friend there's somewhere to begin.

www.theskyremains.com

April 2008

Also received by Olly so im guessing the Eva crowd are being brought out of retirement.

-------------

This follows on from the rumour that one was about to start mentioned here:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=24421

-------------

Their previous ARG for those who missed it was:

http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/index.php?f=212

-------------

The trailer has a touch of the Timehole about it which is great. The only problem that may put some people off is the reliance on the HP technology link in. When their previous arg finished they released a little game for use on the HP GPS technology which was quite fun. Unfortunately not everyone has access to it. Would still definitely recommend this though as the previous teams hard work great writing and constant interaction was unbelievably comnpelling! I just hope we get another day trip with the timehooooooooooole crew!

EDIT - moved to CF with Potentials, 4/30/08 - SG

The Sky Remains is a new type of cross-platform game. Combining interactive narrative, social networking, geocaching, alternate reality gaming and Hewlett Packard's Mscape technology.

Once you sign up for free to The Sky Remains site you enter the fictional world of The Sky Remains 6th Dimension Detective Agency. You become an Agent of the 6th Dimension and are given your first case. You'll find all the clues you need in The Sky Remains site but you won't just be using the internet; you'll also be taking part in outdoor activities, treasure hunts and geocaching as well as using the latest GPS software. Through The Sky Remains site you'll be able to share all your findings and activities surrounding the game with all the
other players, using the site's social networking tools.

The Sky Remains offers official content which allows you to follow an interactive and re-playable narrative both as a single player and as a member of The Sky Remains community. The Sky Remains site is also open to user- generated content, so that once you've completed the first story, you can add your own case to the files, using text, video and photographs to weave your own interactive narratives. Once you've started playing, the sky's the limit!

----------------

Hmm I wonder how they will weave the multiplayer in with single player?

Also there is something very fishy with the verse in the email, evry contrived.

Within these frames there's a way to carry on
Step through the doorway to the answer that's beyond
Without the dark my journey has no end
With you my friend there's somewhere to begin.

Could be compass directions WSWW

I can't wait until April! Because 1) it's a Hazel Grian game, of course, but also 2) she's aiming for a game with replayable elements, which has been sought after for quite a long time in the ARG community. Smile

Also, it looks like mediascape will play a part in the game, but will not be the only part of the game; non-mscapers like myself should be able to play along, then. Smile

Oooh, and they have a theme song to go with the awesome trailer!

---

Anybody notice ARGN on the one guy's computer? Very Happy

Ok about 3/4 of the way through the flash it jumps, there is something there but my decompiler is on my home pc, wont be back for a while unfortunately.

Watershed was one of the sponsors of the previous game. And a big location for the live meet up.

Have to go to the pub now >< but quickly looking at the video the character playing is logged in as MARK and there is a definite skip at about 790 frames but will have a look later.

I enjoyed the Timehole mscape and tried to get anyone who had the means to play it, but I didn't play MeiGeist.

Is there a sign-up link I'm not seeing?

Woo hoo!

I got one, too! I'm leaving for Malta tomorrow and will be gone until Sunday (yes, I COULD have just said I was busy, but opted for a sad attempt at inducing jealousy), but will be all over this when I get back!
