that is Rich Adams's email address. the 6 digits, preceded by the word "the", are intentional and most likely related to our perimeter dimensions.

it's probably worth noting that Rich Adams is the author of watership down. the number sequence is most likely a literary reference from the novel and will give us context surround the perimeter.

Already solved way back when the address was first used for the Hazeltine blog--the number chain is the word 'enigma' when translated.

Okay, I don't know if I posted it here, but masonic structures were brought up and I figured it might be worth a shot. I haven't looked into the 21 cubits, but after me and classical got our PMs, I did some googling. It might be a stretch, but..

classical's number, 150 cubits, turns up the outer court of Solomon's Temple, or the "first" temple of Jerusalem.

Quote:
The outer or "great court" of the Temple (ḥācēr ha-gedhōlāh) opens up more difficult problems. Some regard this court as extending to the East in front of the "inner court"; others think of it as a great enclosure surrounding the "inner court" and stretching perhaps 150 cubits east of the latter.

my number, 60 cubits, turns up the measurements of Herod's Temple, or the "second" temple of Jerusalem.

Quote:
Few details are available regarding this temple of Zerubbabel. It stood on the ancient site, and may have been influenced in parts of its plan by the descriptions of the temple in Ezekiel. Slightly larger than the First Temple (60 cubits high by 60 cubits wide, Ezra 6:3)

I dunno what it means beyond the connections, though.

^ Hmm, I googled 21 cubits and found this:

http://books.google.com/books?id=kqB4ZSmemnkC&pg=PA73&lpg=PA73&dq=21+cubits&source=bl&ots=3uGLmTYAxY&sig=s_XODY05zAjCV-qY4p6q2mTfIec&hl=en&ei=S1BBSsDsFYH-sgOHqfT5CA&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=10

Second paragraph of page 73 mentions that "According to this description, the height of the column and capital together was 21 cubits."

Just a thought on the prayer sheet characters

"Small" and "animal" makes me think of rabbits. Just saying....

aaaaaalso, on the note of the sheet characters, I googled the "nickname" ones and I found a site about tattoos gone wrong (mostly people who were foolish enough to get the wrong chinese characters tattooed on them), but I came across this:

Quote:
The character on the left 小 means "small", "tiny" or "insignificant", and the other 畜 means "livestock" or "domestic animals".

Although in the classic Chinese literature 易經 (I Ching), there is a mentioning about 小畜:

Hexagram 9 is named 小畜 , "Small Accumulating". Other variations include "the taming power of the small" and "small harvest".

Just what exactly the "small harvest" is about, only "Jeff" would know.

small animals seems right on the money, and it doesn't take much to assume we're talking about rabbits.

(sorry for posting so much xD)

^ I googled 小畜 and almost all the results had something to do with prayer sheets. Not really sheets, but more like a paper you get after you pray at a temple and you ask the gods about your luck/future/etc. Something like that? I hope I'm not wrong. xD There's nothing I can find in English, but I looked at images and this one came up:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://imgsrc.baidu.com/baike/pic/item/507c3897046bfc7e55fb96be.jpg&imgrefurl=http://baike.baidu.com/view/483238.html%3FfromTaglist&usg=__ukXwscw_e8uzhJh-9oWyJ5I5gjU=&h=370&w=447&sz=24&hl=en&start=3&sig2=Voy_tXXISh9IspYwRnyJVg&um=1&tbnid=gqZ-L9NefUBTlM:&tbnh=105&tbnw=127&prev=/images%3Fq%3D%25E5%25B0%258F%25E7%2595%259C%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den-us%26sa%3DN%26um%3D1&ei=3FJBSsv_O6PutgPb7LCfCQ

That picture with winds and a block of stripes, idk if that's of any use to us.

EDIT:

v Yep, Wulf's brother's friend sent him this email:

(I'm not sure about 卡, 手, 此, 女 because the characters are so hard to read, but the other two I think are right cause that's what I got as well).

Quote:
Mike,

I couldn't translate it, so I sent it off to one of they guys I work with in China. Below is his response.

Micah,

This is an odd photo. I am not sure the meaning determinately. Just a guess, this is a small paper for pray for a child.

卡 康 手 奉 此 女
Should be a girl's name a word means honorific this girl

小畜
The girl's nickname

This should be the Chinese culture, or Buddhism, a girl who was just born, but always cried, her eldership just thought the girl might get a scare, then they asked for this paper from shaman, the purpose is to help the baby to get rid of something that are not good for her, and baby could be health and happiness.

Not to armchair quarterback but...

has anyone had any luck on the Chinese outside of the central character? I'm thinking that is the place that needs to be looked at, along with the small animal character, which would be the name of the person (?) it is about.

following up on TD's theory, there is a third temple of jerusalem, aka the temple mount.

Sorry, I should've been more clear. The symbol in the middle appears to be a girl's name / nickname. The surrounding characters are what is being discussed now - the small animal, luck, good health, etc.

Good to hear. Although I'm beginning to wonder i they're waiting on US for something. But so far as I'm aware, the only thing we're missing so far is a complete and accurate translation of the Chinese prayer sheet.

=edit=
Sorry for the late post on this, but I just noticed I got this reply from Rage while I was out golfing. And WOW.
Quote:
Wulf, my friend, you are sometimes so far off target that I get concerned for you, but then when I least expect it you demonstrate a clarity that causes me to believe that you have a perfect grasp on all that is going on and are just playing your cards close to the vest. This is one of the latter times. As you know by now, I created the Oracle. Unintentionally and with much regret. It's done, though. And I can assure you that just as I left her alive in that motel room when I could have taken her with me, I will do everything in my power to not allow harm to come to her now. As for Lincoln, I cannot go near him. Hiring me to resolve that situation would waste your money and probably end up ruining everything.

You are correct in that I have been doing much thinking lately. About what I have done, about who I am and about where I came from. Did you know that the first life I took was my father's - to protect my sister? I wonder what Freud would tell you about that fallout? Ari and I became closer than we ever were before. The official report was that our father had committed suicide, so deep was his grief over losing his wife. We never corrected them. Thanks to a foster system that gets things right once in awhile, they kept us together and for a few years we just lived our lives and got older. My whole focus in life was to do everything Ari asked and to protect her from the world. The second person I killed was a boy at the junior high that we attended who pushed her against a locker and kissed her. It was at that time that I started to understand Ari's sensual nature, and the effect it had on those around her. I saw her through different eyes. The way she looked, walked, talked and breathed gave off an aura of sensuality. It was inescapable, overpowering and, for her, completely unconscious. She was a fourteen year old girl who could simply walk down a hall at school, immersed in the Depeche Mode song on her walkman, and leave a trail of frozen boys, teachers, administrators and janitors. I developed much of my hypervigilance in that environment.

Then as we approached our fifteenth birthday, I started to notice her too.

My shame and guilt was deeply upsetting to me, as you can imagine. I had killed my own father over his desire for her and although I would do it again in a heartbeat, I found myself desiring her and trying to resolve that struggle within myself. And then one night she came to me and slid into my bed. I turned away and fought against her but it was no use. It was what she had wanted and I had absolutely no will when it came to resisting her - even if she was destroying me in the process. And she did, Wulf. Ever heard the term 'cloak of respectability'? It's the idea that we all hold onto one positive aspect of our selves and we can do horrible things in our life but still see ourselves as generally good as long as we don't violate that one behavioral tenet. That's the cloak of respectability. Mine was protecting Ari. As long as I was protecting her, I could do no wrong in my own eyes. And then I failed in my passion for her and became my father. I sat on the roof of the house with a gun in my lap until the sun rose the next morning, feeling the entire structure of who I was falling apart within me. I tried to shoot myself so many times that morning and just couldn't do it. Self preservation is a funny thing. So I climbed back in the window, stood over her as she slept and felt my love and desire for her rising again. The torture of it, my friend, to desire so much that which will destroy you the quickest. I dressed queitly, left and never came back. I now had to protect my sister from me.

I didn't see Ari again until after I encountered Jenny in that motel in New Jersey.

I found her dancing in a place in San Francisco and making extra money in adult films. Our relationship, tumultuous and angry by that point, limped along for awhile - and then that little girl in the nightgown looking to me to protect her from the world was gone, trailing her pain and her loneliness with her.

And that was the beginning of the end for me, friend. I tried to move along as normal, get back to work and maintain composure but it just didn't work. I am haunted by those souls who I have gathered and tortured by the one soul that I can never experience again. And my sorrow and regret are like a boulder on me, I am like Atlas faltering, ultimately failing.

Mr. Wulf, I am not going to survive what you are now deeply involved in and my only goal is to come face-to-face with Jenny again before I am done. I will protect her, but your brood must promise not to try and stop me from seeing her when the storm has passed. If it does.

A.R.

I had considered removing the first couple of words from his letter.. lol .. but again - WOW.

Any suggestions on a reply? I'm at a bit of a loss. We know that, according to TGATT at some point, when Jenny and Rage meet up in OK - that IF that happens, it's supposed to end badly for Jenny, or am I recalling that incorrectly?

Whoooooooa.

As far as I remember it, the Oracle and Rage meeting will not be necessarily bad for either of them, per se. It's the rest of us that we're supposed to be concerned about--said confrontation was supposed to lead to some sort of alluded apocalypse, I think--which probably has something to do with Lincoln.

But then again, I think this was fake!Bricker/Eric telling us this, so I have no idea if it's true or not.

Actually, I'd prod him more about why he 'cannot go near Lincoln'. What I do know is that the Oracle needs to meet with Rage, because she knows what he is and what he can do. And she has a 'ghost' to remove in the Brightman, right? Which is probably Lincoln.

this story has metamorphosized so many times in such extreme degrees that kafka would be proud.

i'm still certain that there is no game and that we are ad libbing an ending to the story as we go.
