I've never heard of this before, and thought it interesting, so I decided to dig into it a bit further. It gets creepy. This is taken from a page in a book called "The Magician's Companion" by Bill Whitcomb. page 456:


So this magic box, refers to the Sun, and for those not interested in a lot of reading - the sum of each column must be the same as the sum of each row. There are several permutations to this. I haven't seen a lot of the stuff mentioned in relation to these magic boxes, since I read Focault's Pendulum by Umberto Eco. It gets into Qabala, gematria, and a lot of other esoteric subjects. All very interesting. Of course, the piece that sticks out the most - is the fact that Sol's numerical value is 666, the number of the beast.

[speculation]The Oracle in the stories has been referred to as an "angel" multiple times - and from what we've seen - would seem to have that sort of a countenance and personality. Those near Her want to protect her anyway they can - which strangely - seemed to be the same as PK's Jenny...?
Anyway - this so far has run the gamut of possibilities, from Freemason's to what is starting to look like the Ultimate Smackdown between God and the Devil.
I'm guessing JDM is the agent of the Devil - who is Her agent?[/speculation]

I find it strange that even now that we've figured out what the Tarot cards, in the order they've been presented are - that they continue to post them.

When I was doing a bit of reading on magic boxes the other day, I found a reference to the fact that each box is used for a specific or set of specific spells. However what I wasn't able to find was what spell(s) the Sol magic box is supposed to be capable of. Has anyone else had any luck with this?

 		I've been out of the loop for a few days - missed the whole Tarot solution / magic box thing. Bad, bad timing as hockey playoffs are on and that dominates my life.

What was the solve for the Tarot cards? Is it the SOL website Wulf? If that's a solve, then there's more that is needed. I don't mean to sound rude, but "They" are still posting cards. We now have Strength, the Empress, the Fool and today we have the Magician and the Hermit....

It is still possible that someone is trying to tell a story through the cards. You can read each one as a character, use the generally accepted meanings of each card and lay out a plot. I sure don't have the patience to do that at this point in time. LOL

With the great find on the sequence of numbers represented by the Tarot's - we identified it was part of what was called the magic squares- in particular Sol. But it wasn't complete.
The magic squares are used to cast spells (like I mentioned above - just don't know which one) - but the spell can't be cast, the sigil can't be used until it is complete. Which is why I suspect they're still posting the numbers. If you wanted - you could predict at least 1 number that they're posting tomorrow.

But I suspect that once the square is complete - we'll be seeing something pretty major occur. The fact that Sol numerically equals 666 - the fact that JDM admitted to being an agent for Evil, the references to the Oracle as angelic and so forth - it seemed pretty straightforward to me (heh, but that's just my interpretation..?).

However, all that being said - it wouldn't surprise me to see another use for the Tarot's brought up too - an enigma wrapped in a mystery .. so to speak. With you being our resident Tarot expert - we're kind of relying on you to let us know if there is anything significant in the way the cards are being presented. I tried figuring Tarot out a few years ago - but apparently it's over my head.

I was chuckling at Syn's response. He might have PM'd games in the past. But he's obviously not PM'ing this one IMHO. I mean - who would go to the work of an ARG - and then instill one of the PM's as one of the primary players in the game? It's one thing to give little nudges and so forth to help the players - but as Syn has been the almost single point of contact with TT, and at first JDM - I seriously doubt he's a part of it.
