Four more (yellowcard was 12/16) and then "the first will be lead", which both confuses and slightly worries me all at the same time.

ETA: our assassinated rabbit image and the 911 recording mix have been taken down from oraclewatch.

I replied to Bricker telling him he should attend the ARGFest, as it'd be good to get his idea(s) out, as well as talking about this one. The conference would be a good way to get new ideas, refine the ones they already have - and so forth.

I also told him he still needs to take us.

Got another reply from Bricker, and I gotta say, it's confusing me a bit. First of all, why would Val tell Bricker to ask me of all people whether he should accept the invitation to speak at the conference. Hrm - and it looks like I might try to attend the conference as well - I just need to find out what events Bricker is planning on attending so I can register.. unless they're going to pay for me to go with Bricker, lol.

Anyway..

Translation (spelling errors corrected):
I googled OOG and assume you mean out-of-game. I'm pretty sure I'll get what you mean and so yes, my question is not about a game. The rest is a bit confusing. At any rate, I trust you through your connection to Val so I will accept the offer. I would be flying up from Santa Rosa, would you be meeting me in Portland or here?

For anyone that's interested, here's the website for ARGfest-O-Con
. And the Registration page.

Bricker, you crazy cat.

Well, I know I'm only going to register a) if he's attending for certain and b) when the events page goes up on the site. But perhaps! If I can scrounge up money in time for travel. (Why do all the good conventions have to be in July?!)

In the meantime, Port has been oddly quiet today, which is weird because he's usually pretty prompt about emailing back. I guess I'll blame it on the move he was talking about in his last one, though. Bah.

Okay, so my (im)patience pays off.

Court,

Only got a second here, but Darren gave me this file to forward to you. This is part of the creepiness I was telling you about below. Ernie's daughter said to say, "Can you guess who the One is now?" Okay. They say I can be more in touch with you tomorrow when we're settled.

Take care and know that you are my only connection to anything sane right now.

Port

... this explains a lot, actually.

I would say he's probably definitely planning on attending, but my email to him should confirm that one way or the other. Wouldn't it be irritating if this whole thing was just to get people to attend the ARGfest thingy?
On my response to Bricker, I used a 256-bit Rijndael algorithm to encode the reply, rather than his typical use of double letters and misspellings. I didn't use a password to encrypt it, and left him instructions on how to decode it. This is the algorithm I used: MAXA Crypt
.

Bricker!code is time consuming, is it not? ;B

Yus, I would not be happy if this was just some sort of recruiting tool. Thus, I'm gonna hold out for a secondary, non-Bricker confirmation before I make any plans, i.e. when the ARGFest folks throw up some schedule of events with his name on it. Really, I would like to go as it is! But my main allure will be that chance to shake hands with the guy and/or vent my frustrations by kicking him squarely in the shins.

:D

That said, should plans fall together, we should totally get together for drinks out there or something!

Ok, so I'm now more confused.. I thought the One was some sort of supernatural, non-corporeal, omniscient, super-powered Devil. At the beginning of this, we were lead to believe that the One was somehow controlling Rage, and that Rage didn't have a lot of control over himself when he was being inhabited/controlled by the One, with the exception of Jenny...?
This thing has been all over the place so far - and even as some of the pieces are fitting together they still don't seem to fit together or even be related. [/shrug] [/rant]

Very Happy

Agreed - it'd be a lot of fun to put him in a headlock, give him a noogie - and ask WTF!?!

We'll take him out for drinks, and that way we can get drunk and ask more obnoxious questions than we normally would.. lol

btw - any sign of Munki or burrito?

Hahah, maybe it's just me, then. As far as I understand, you're on the right track--it just happens that this devil was manufactured. In any case, I've always taken Rage's references to demonism/supernaturalism/etc. a little less literally than it was suggested so, like I just wrote back to Port, this whole fog just parted like the Red fucking Sea.

At the very least, Black Beauty has intersected with the storyline (finally) and the background behind one of the major players in this thing has surfaced. It does make me wonder (more than usual) about Rage's real background and his relationship to the One. Though I'm sure we'll figure that one out soon enough.

In between tweets from John Mayer (someone remind me why I chose to follow him - or give him a job to do! Geez! My twitter page fills up fast just from him!), was this, posted about an hour ago:

Mooooar emails from Port!
Quote:
Court,

We're settled into a safe house in Garden Grove. Same M.O., run-down ghetto house complete with the DANGER: PIT BULLS sign and the old couch on the front porch and frickin' Houston Control in the basement. I never knew that houses in California even had basements.

I've got to be honest, I'm starting to feel invincible with these people. They know everything everywhere and seem to move with impunity. I finally had to ask who they were, or more specifically "why" they were. They were initially organized by Starr and are mostly made up of former Brightman employees who seem to be zealously protective of the Oracle. I am told that when you meet with her, you either want to die for her or you want to hide and figure out a way to destroy her for what she is able to see in you.

They say I'll meet her next week. On one hand I'm nervous, but on the other I'm almost afraid that I'll be disappointed, you know? Like she's just one of those fortune-teller ladies at the county fair who tries to speak in nothing but vague generalities. I don't know, but I'll keep you updated.

I interrupted a meeting in the kitchen this morning and although they were friendly about it, they made sure I excused myself before continuing. But I did overhear that they think Lincoln is at the Brightman too, and has been since they finished with him at Fort Miley. I get the impression that he's not considered much of a physical threat anymore...but he is definitely feared by the Watchers. (?) Did you know any of this? You seem to know 90% of what I think is news!

I hope all is well with you and I'll try not to panic if you do the same.

Port

Plus, tweet'd not too long ago:
Quote:
ArlenRage: You say 'alienated', I say 'lacked vision'. Tomayto...tomahto. Potayto...potahto. Let's call the whole thing off! (Couldn't help myself!)

ArlenRage: Incidentally...how do you say "key" in Chinese?

Huh.

And the Hazeltine blog was updated with the image below about ten minutes after Rage's last tweet. At the bottom lefthand corner is something that says 'CH 44'. Which I have no idea what it means, of course. The only thing I can think of that has a chapter 44 is Watership Down, called 'A Message from El-ahrairah'.

But if some more mysterious envelopes show up at my parent's house again, I'll let you guys know. :B
