CISRA Puzzle Competition

Apparently a group called Canon Information Systems Reseach Australia (CISRA) is holding a puzzle competition. They're giving away digital cameras as prizes to Australian students. Only students at Australian universities can win cameras, but anyone can enter for fun. I personally can't get any of the ones they have up so far(I sort of understand #3), but I thought people here might be interested. The site's here: http://puzzle.cisra.com.au/

Warm-up puzzles are available for the next month, with the competition beginning on Mon 27 April.

I don't even get what we're supposed to be looking for on the first puzzle.? Am I missing something. Is there more than just the toothandclaw pdf?

These sort of puzzle hunt style puzzles take a bit of getting used to. Often there is very little to go on and you just need to look at what you have and hope something pops out. Tooth and claw for example, there are a bunch of animals which you could name. Some are biting others, which would give you some sort of ordering or connections between the names. Once you'd ordered them you'd then see if something like taking the first letters of the animal names gives anything comprehensible.

Basically, be prepared to follow lots of incorrect leads only to kick yourself when you find out what the answer is.

And here I was trying to find the number of teeth and claws for various species. Wink

Hey! I solved A.1!

I feel like I'm really close to C.1, and I've made some progress in D.1.
