PLus a source code update: what's the study of HIDING THINGS? i'm not sure, but i have an IDEA.

Reckon that "IDEA" signifies International Data Encryption Algorithm. Unsure of what or how to use any IDEA/PGP d/l tools.

There is another update on the site:

no. 8: just twelve hours left...

in the source code it says "you will never find her - i'm too Good a HIDEr of data!

notice the use of capital letters. I don't know if this was there before, but the comment above the new ones has this usage as well:

what's the Study of hiding Things? i'm not sure, but i have an idEa.

 		This morning "idEa" was all upper case (IDEA), hiding was also. The new caps spell STEGHIDE which I don't have installed. Dunno

I've been lurking - but haven't caught up on everything so far. I've tried a bunch of the common words I've seen so far - as well as the Thesaurus for "voice" - but no luck.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'll be happy to try...

I read through your most recent conversation with (?) - and he is quite obviously telling us which picture to look at, and from the looks at it, hints as to the password for it. But again, everything I've tried hasn't worked.
I've tried variations of voice, speak, talk, etc, and a few other odds and ends. The timer is counting down - and I'm available for the next little bit - but not all night, if you still need someone to try the destegging with it.

Hahah - if that wasn't the Clue Bat - I dunno what is. That being the case, I can only assume I'm reading the wrong text - or fat fingering the password every time I've tried to enter it.

And so I'm not the only one attempting this, I'm going to try and make the instructions for using it as simple as I can:

1) Make sure the picture you wish to de-steg is in the same folder as Steghide, otherwise if you're not familiar with DOS you're going to make life harder. For example, if you extracted the program to the C: drive, you would find it in the folder C:\steghide - put the jpg in there as well.

2) Open a Command/DOS prompt: Click Start --> Run --> type CMD and press OK.

3) With the DOS window open, you'll have to change the directory to where you have installed steghide. For this example you would type:
cd c:\steghide
The prompt will now read: C:\steghide

4) Type: steghide extract -sf panda.jpg
It will then ask you for the "passphrase".
If you have the wrong password it will say: steghide: could not extract any data with that passphrase!

5) However, if you got the right one it will save whatever information it extracted from the picture to the same folder the picture is in. Most likely it will be another .txt file - and named something that will make it identifiable. (As a side note - there are several .txt files already included in the folder, I would suggest deleting all of them except README.txt. That should make it easier to find the extracted information.

And there you have it. Just for clarification when extracting from a different .jpg - they won't always be named "panda.jpg", just substitute that for the name of the .jpg you want to work on.

Hopefully this helped a bit for those of you not familiar with command line interfaces. Or if its still too confusing - go ahead an clobber me, and I'll remove this book.. Very Happy

The source indicates the message actually was delivered, and the reply actually came from Nadia. Unfortunately I didn't see much else in there (I'm not very good at reading that kinda thing...). But this obviously isn't the way to do it.

Donovan just came online via his mobile Gave him the information, he's headed out to go get her. For some reason it was a jilted, confused conversation, like he was very focused on something else. Right before he signed off - he asked if the webpage said anything new (I had checked it about 1min earlier). So I checked again:
