True. They can still do field reports, but to me it seemed that they were essentially just mines for the keywords. With the puzzle solved they aren't really needed for the campaign.
Marcie has also stopped doing the 'Weekly Mosaic' at the same time that we solved it.
That's not to say that Oscar and/or TruthHack won't start back up with new vids. And I'd assume at some point JtM will update with something new as well.

The man in the 'tank-room' in that pic just struck me as looking like Simon.

...and just Apo is fine Wink

Yes, I agree that the Field Reports are no longer needed. No one here really needed them (and some didn't need the JTM vids at all) but for those that stayed at TH they became a later way to get the keywords. In other words, the trail was made easier for those following later.

I also noticed that the JTM stories were edited down to add Oscar to the scene, so that way they were able to use them to focus more on the part of the video that had the keyword in it, again simplifying the original length of the ARG and providing shorcuts.

I've a feeling that Olivia will be operating on the "fish tank guy" for if you look at the teaser for "White to Play" there is someone with an air hose in his mouth in Olivia's trauma center. I hope this is not considered a spoiler as it has already been aired last Thursday.

I also found a "new game" of a sort for us all. See this page at ABC for additional content to play for.

Cool

Good job Mosaic Hyde...I knew there would be another game to play..
That mineral oil system for cooling computers is interesting.
Keep the screencaps on file..I think we'll need them for future reference.
As far as Bullseye is concerned....it can R.I.P.

I say we just have players of the ARG here drop in and leave what the messages are in the "Sprint game" above each week. It keeps this thread active while we wait to see if Oscar resurfaces and it allows the non-Sprint customers to access the hints.

Not sure about official rules here, MH. But far as I'm concerned the post-show promo is not a full fledged spoiler, but then again many times the promos are produced by the studio and not the showrunners, so they truly can be spoilers.
I'll let a mod or someone that knows the policy on the promos for sure to say if it is or isn't.

Sounds fine and I'd like to know as much about the definitions. You have a great point regarding the showrunners versus the studio's intentions. I've considered asking Sam on RPR whether we should place a spoiler warning on the ARG title over there but very soon the keywords will be "old news" anyway.

It seems we have spoilers of sorts all around this series, as the ARG contains canon spoilers and the central flashforward event itself is a "Global Spoiler" that is presented to the characters and the viewers in the pilot episode. In other words, this series is not easy to define.

To follow up with what Apo found, yet another change has happened as the JTM (JoinTheMosaic) site has a new skin.

http://abc.go.com/shows/flash-forward/mosaiccollective

This seems even more to indicate that the ARG for now is in hibernation (we'll say it's in hiding along with Oscar). Wink

This new look integrates the JTM page with other ABC content including episode guides, viewing of episodes and other material relating to the series.

All of the changes of late indicate "house keeping" and blending the stand-alone sites into the main FF entertainment content. That does not rule out that we might get a tap on the shoulder during the series though, so let's stay vigilant.

Or, we could figure out how
d86b32 top b2ed92 middle 31bfed bottom 010cf0 middle
e23891 top 187a9f middle 55fcb1 bottom
works out to CHARRED

Reykjavik, Moscow, South Sandwich Islands, London, Labasa
works out to EIGHT

that little midi ditty works out to EYE.
---------------------------
maybe EYE is the morse code of only a single line of the music.
the tune doesn't sound familiar to anyone, does it?

Reykjavik, Moscow, and London all have ties to Chess.... but I can't find any chess tournaments to have been playind in the South Sandwich Islands.
I'm still leaning towards "northernmost capital, easternmost European capital, southernmost group of islands, Capital closest to Prime Meridian, city closest to international date line", mainly because there doesn't seem to be anything significant about Labasa or S.Sandwich Islands other than their locations.

Excellent point sapagoo. I'd sure like to know how those parts of the TruthHack/Mosaic FlashForward ARG are constructed. Are the South Sandwich Islands even populated? I seem to recall that they were not. Then that would point to a geographic answer.

There is a tenuous connection between Reykjavik and South Sandwich Islands. "THULE" is one of the old names for Iceland and one of the islands in the South Sandwich group is called Southern Thule. Ultima Thule in medieval geographies may also denote any distant place located beyond the "borders of the known world." That may help with Iceland, Fiji and the S. Sand. Is. but doesn't work with London or Moscow. So I wonder if "Thule" can be connected to all of the five locations? If possible, then how might it become "EIGHT"?

Cool
Between the screencaps, the locations and key words I think we have plenty to work on...so let's do it. I saw the change to join the mosaic had the ABC headliner...it's going mainstream.

Sapagoo, you might like my interpretation of your two-letter country abbreviations. If you remove the duplicate letters of "S" and "U" the remaining unique letters add up to a quantity of EIGHT. Does this have any chance of being the solution to how we get to EIGHT? The only people that would be able to confirm this I suppose would be the PMs.

Yes, I am loving FlashForward so far, partly because of the way these connections have been popping up (I probably would have liked it anyway, but my biggest OOO! moments had to do with cupcakes and the computer room popping up, while I'm pretty sure the cupcakes would have been of no interest to me without this game, since I don't recall seeing any that involved chocolate). However, I am disappointed that I have not yet received any free cupcakes. If a Toronto deaddrop of cupcakes could be arranged, I would be so there.

Spoiler for the TV show:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I even started wondering if the cupcakes will become more important later, like maybe if Dede is slowly poisoning the FBI with arsenic, or if Noh will die a cupcake-induced death, but really, the character was fighting with the credit card company about the cloned card issue that has already been resolved & doesn't seem to be anything but a sweet lady otherwise, and we know now it was the cloned-card "D. Gibbons" who was a bad guy, not her. Also, was her actress on MadTV?

The character Simon
Who is he supposed to be?

First, Hello everyone. My name's Andy. I love what you guys are doing here. It reminds me so much of another ARG I played along with called Nowheremen. Anyway.... I was watching one of the many trailers for FlashForward and noticed in one they talk about a character known only as Simon, played by Dominic Monaghan. Anyone else catch that? If it's been brought up already, I am really sorry for repeating. I've tried to read everything. Anyway, glad to come on board. Very Happy

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qf54fMejjfs
Go 2:36 into the clip and he is shown wearing a Frankestein mask and he has apparently broken into Lloyd Simcoe's car and has surprised him. Later

Edit: for the record, I should state that I have never seen the show Lost.
EditEdit: I guess if I just open my dang eyes I'll see that Simon is mentioned on this page. duh!!!!

Glad to see some new friends. As these clues move from the future to the past, I wonder if anything new will be done with this ARG. Somehow I don't think my reverse-solve for EIGHT (really, reverse engineering) is the correct one as I feel it needs to spell it out. No progress on the others that sapagoo mentioned.

Over on RPR and on the site I help with at

http://z6.invisionfree.com/Flash_Forward_Mosaic/index.php

I did come up with an interesting angle on the show mythology and just what the kangaroo means (not so much how it got there but what it is supposed to mean). It folds in nicely with the chess theme (especially the white queen and the dark knight) and also explains what the purpose is to the reverse images we see with Olivia (left to right flips) and with the Blue Hand (which both flips top/bottom and left/right) in the pilot. I'm not kidding when I say I'm on a trail, friends. Wink

Part of why I'm sharing this here is what if my epiphany could be of any use for solving the list that sapagoo brought up for review? Mirrors or reverse views are mentioned as well as chess, but in the EIGHT answer I could not close the deal with a chess connection.

I'm west coast, so I'm just now getting set down for "White to Play." I found out a couple of days back that Gibbons was not going to be in this episode but the next one after that, "137 Sekunden", which only makes sense. I think I saw not a show-runner's teaser but a network one (as Apo warned could happen). They mixed up the material and showed parts of both episodes.

Well, I have to run as I have a bus to catch, hee. Laughing
