I was wondering that myself...

Good question... answer: "depends". The first major ARG, "The Beast", ran about 3 months - but that was funded and run by Microsoft and was a pretty major operation. I've also played some of the more indie ARGs that have run for similar lengths.

I think it all depends how much story content the PMs have... and how fast it takes to solve all the puzzles, of course!

I've only played the Lost args, and they go for at least 3 or 4 months ,IIRC (except for last year's! Mad )

This is our next clue. I just don't know what to do with it.

Yeah, I think you're right.

(EDIT: My reasoning was stupid, so I'm removing it)

I have tried some other 27ths of months, like May 27 (4sivan.jpg) and August 27 (7elul.jpg), but no luck.

Well, time to turn in for me. And just my luck, the whole game will have been solved while I was asleep. Goodnight, everyone.

Is there a way to try different image file names on that website? It keeps taking me to a 404-type page even if it's a valid image.

Yer doing it right. Just at *.jpg or *.htm after http://twentyseven.co.cc/

if something is there, it will show up. If it doesnt exist on the server it will take you to his hosts page. His hosts page is annoying though, as it redirects you instantly ;P Wish the PM would make a change to that.

Oh, I see what you mean. That is sorta odd. It should pull it up in your browser (a1.jpg for example), and it doesnt.

It's because the path to the images is different than that of the pages: they are in a subdirectory called "images/"

Never mind. That site does some screwy stuff - sometimes when I load the image directly in the browser it works, other times I get a 404. I wonder if the hosting company is having issues...

I was doing that, and on my browser it takes me to the host's 404 page. So does the link to a1.jpg quoted above. Maybe it's an IE thing? Rolling Eyes

EDIT: Nope, same in Mozilla.
