I know you wrote to him recently warning him about his involvement with the I theta project, do you know anything else about that project that might explain why he's missing?

I hope you do,

Unfortunately I have to go out now so no time to figure out those numbers Confused

if you reverse each pair of numbers/letters (ex. 47 – 74, …, e6 – 6e, …)
you get:
74 75 66 65 72 6e 72 68 65 69 36 65 65 6e 68 65 61 63 73 73 69 79 63 6f 68 74 74
which translated from HEX gives:
tufernrhei6eenheacssiycohtt

Thank you. That certainly made more sense...now let's see what we have...

EDIT: That translated to this when deciphered as hex:

tufernrheiceenheacssiycohtt

yep.. thanks env420 for correcting me (instead of "6" it should be "c")
so the new code is:
tufernrheiceenheacssiycohtt

Smashing work, everyone!

Since I'm useless with codes and such, I'm gonna repost some comments from the WISH blog yesterday, since a message board is more suited for this stuff and it's on some topics we haven't touched on much...hope it's useful to someone:

"...Anyway, we figured out (or Env420 did) that the other point on the map is in the Azores. So that must be where this "resonance" is emanating from. The document also mentions that a closer "location F" was considered first. Since the Azores are off the N. African coast, could location F have been in Tunisia?

The first point of course is St. Ignace, by Lake Michigan, 3-400 KM north of Ann Arbor. So how are these two places connected, and what is this resonnance? How can it be exploited or even measured from a point thousands of miles away? We're told that at location G it will take 27 days to "stabilize the fluctuations", which would apparently only take 12 days at location F (possibly Tunisia). So what makes Niel recommend G anyway, even at a much higher cost? He may not be so certain himself...
From Wikipedia:
"In quantum physics, the Heisenberg uncertainty principle states that certain pairs of physical properties, like position and momentum, cannot both be known to arbitrary precision. That is, the more precisely one property is known, the less precisely the other can be known."

Maybe the name Heisenberg is a hint that there's a great deal of uncertainty connected with the I-Theta project, and that one of two properties--maybe one of the locations, or the fluctuations mentioned--is very tentative. In short, Widmore really have no clue what they're doing, which is a little scary, but makes it all more interesting. Yay for scientists playing with powers they don't understand! Geek

A final stray thought: Eileithyia (Niel's boat) is a Roman goddess of childbirth, much like Tawaret (the statue on the island) in Egyptian culture. Could Heisenberg's research have anything to do with fertility?"

Morning all!

Just got up and checked my email and I have a reply from r33pich33p too. No new information but thought I'd post it here anyway:

"don't know about nathan, but i know about niel.

where is he? even if i knew i'd never tell

47 57 66 56 27 e6 27 86 56 96 36 56 56 e6 86 56 16 36 37 37 96 97 36 f6 86 47 47"

<r33pich33p>"

Well done for working out the Hex - that's ALOT of letters to work with though Shocked

My guess is it's another web address but where to start?

Could someone tell me what make this string of numbers/letters a HEX code?

Don't know much about coding systems but just wanted to make sure this WAS Hex and we're on the right track.

Thanks

Hex (short for hexidecimal, or base-16) code is distinguished by the presence of the letters a, b, c, d, e and f, representing the numbers 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.

i just jumped on the hex bandwagon because i dont know much about coding and whatnot, but i've been playing with the letters for a bit now.

i made myself a table to see how many of each letter there was for when i was combining words into possible phrases (in case anyone else would like to see):
a - (1) o - (1)
c - (3) r - (2)
e - (5) s - (2)
f - (1) t - (3)
h - (3) u - (1)
i - (2) y - (1)
n - (2)

other possible words i found in addition to lurkyloo's (on elliotts blog) and steff's were:
enrich
co.cc
tennessee
tunis
tunisia
free
church
hanso

i'm about fried here, hopefully a good night's sleep will give my eyes a fresh view tomorrow..or probably one of you smart folks will figure it out =)

Morning. So many possible anagrams. Coffee
In case r33pich33p sends more: when it looks like a hex but doesn't quack like one, it can be automatically Reversed HERE

That makes sense! Sounds like part of at sentence...so where do we find the rest? (As far as I can tell, the hex Porridgebrain got is the same as Wintermute's, so that's not it.)
