Hopefully your employer doesn't check on the real Frank Nitti Very Happy

As n00b in ARGs I don't know much about such games but I thought
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
there would be more variety than just decoding puzzles that get harder and harder, like videos, soundfiles, minigames and stuff

Please correct me if I'm wrong...

Sorry, just a little frustrated... Rolling Eyes Anyway, perhaps we should go on with what we have. And what we have is an image, Gary luckily saved before it's been removed from Nitti's page (BTW: is "thenittifamily" a personal or a (honorable) business website?)...

So who do you think Tony should take care of, Neil or Nathan? If Neil (and I think so, 'cause R33pi's hints relate to Neil's disappearance); then I think we should inform Sara, asking if the name Tony rings a bell...

Well, I hope contacting the different In-game characters leads to new clues, but I have to go to bed, so: Good luck and happy puzzle-solving. Nighty Night!

Stroopwafel Sorry just wanted to try the wafel Wink

I see we're all still stuck. I have had quite the busy weekend, which is why I haven't been around. Got some freetime tonight, so hopefully I can be of some use...yea right. lol

I was thinking about the code left by r33pi on the finalis page. Why would he use wrong numbers/letters in coding "the Nitti Family"? I'm thinking ONX means something. It was too simple to figure out what was meant by "the oitti fanilx". Those letters hold some significance (in my opinion anyways.) Mr. Green Maybe they can tell us how to decode the construction site code...oh hell, I dunno. Dunno

And we are definitely missing something on the twentyseven website. I noticed that the 22 letters used can be seen as the Phoenician alphabet as well as hebrew, which is derived from Phoenician script. I've followed these lead though, to no avail...yet. I just wish I could figure this out. A couple of days rest, maybe I'll see something new.

Hopefully this hasn't been realized before, but I just realized something used in the Nitti family/the oitti fanilx code is used in some common ciphers. Each "wrong" letter in the oitti fanilx is 1 ahead of the letter,in the alphabet, that it is supposed to be. For example, the o is supposed to be an n, and in the alphabet o is 1 ahead of the letter n. I don't think that this can help with our current code, but I found this interesting. Again, sorry if we already knew this.

EDIT: I just realized that x is before y in the alphabet, I wonder if it means anything...

I remember someone saying R.1 stood out as "row 1" Forgive me for not quoting, I'm being lazy tonight. Anywho, Could the code on the construction site be a way to find something within the passages posted on the finalis page? I tried using the 9, 3, and 13 word from the first row of passage 1, 3, and 4...didn't work out for me, but maybe I'm taking the wrong approach. Any ideas?

I tried the same thing, Erin. No luck with that number word or the first letter in that number word. I didn't try the number letter overall, and I'm not sure whether we're supposed to be looking at finalis.html or something else. <sigh>

I think you're right. I don't know if we're supposed to be looking at the finalis page. Elliott hasn't added the Chenchey site or the Nitti site to his watching list. Maybe that's a clue to where we should be trying to apply this code or whatever. Elliott has added the twentyseven site to his watching list however. I'm pretty sure the II is in reference to this site. We've missed something there...this may very well be our clue. But damn it...can't figure it out...grr...

Okay, I dropped out of my programming classes. (Not because I sucked Razz but because my professor said, 'if you don't want to sit in a cubicle for 8 hours a day, this job is not for you.') LOL Wink Oh enough about me. ONX = Open Node Syntax...it's a type of markup language. I have no experience with that, so I honestly have no idea. Figured it couldn't hurt to mention it. Smile

Hey there. Me again Mr. Green

I found some info on a guy named Virgilius Maro Grammaticus. According to his "language" the word onx is translated to 8.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgil

Although the wiki site did not mention numerals in his language, other sites did. Here is one.

http://vunex.blogspot.com/2006/12/latin-alternate-history.html

EDIT: Hey, if you insert 8, you get

I H C M or MICH...as in Michigan...as in University of Michigan... Dunno LOL Probably not.

it sounds like you could definitely be on to something there.. any thoughts on what the r1 :II could mean though? i still can't help but think the II goes back to that inactive II link on the twentyseven page, but they might have nothing to do with eachother.

i mean R.1: II Screwy

i don't know if we should be using the site that we shouldn't've found yet in order to find it the proper way... but i noticed the file we found was "hb.jpg" and the picture on the Nitti Family homepage is "uc.jpg" (short for Under Construction), so we could maybe assume that the page we're looking for could be abbreviated by HB...
i've tried some common words and words in the message we found (like "boss") but haven't gotten anywhere with it yet

also, if you subtract one from the first two numbers in the code you get 9 and 2, which are H and B... but then i don't know what you would do with the rest of the code, so that could just be a coincidence

Oddly, the day after we discussed the whois for twentyseven.co.cc here on this forum, the registration was revised to read as follows:

Code:
Registrant     Edmund Montgomery

32333
Hinson, FL
UNITED STATES

27 Media
Email : the8thspokeSPLATgmail.com
Phone : (727) 555-2727
Instant messenger :

Updated Date : 29-May-2009
Creation Date : 20-May-2009

Hinson FL does not appear to be noteworthy for anything. The entire county in which it is located has a population of just 45,000.

There is a 27 Media, but it's in Texas.

http://www.27mediaproductions.com/

I love the phone number, which is nonworking as are all 555-XXXX numbers (except for 555-1212, information).

EDIT: Same applies to the8thspoke.co.cc .

Hello all!

Anyone else wondering how long we're going to be kept hanging like this??!

We're obviously missing something BIG and my feeling is if we haven't got it by now we're not going to get it.

So why aren't we being given a new clue? Is the PM determined that we have to tough this one out on our own? There's been nothing from Elliott for days Sad

Just don't know what else to try...

Anyone else come up with any new ideas?
