As you job over to the dragon's tail, you hear the other traveler's voice. "Alright...do you know the Governor? Hmm? Gov-er-nor..."

The dragon snorts. Apparently it does know the Governor. You don't wait to find out whether that is a good or bad memory; you climb steadily upward along the stumpy spines that serve as rungs to a bone-ladder.

Just as you reach the mid-back, the dragon purrs, and you notice something: there is another traveler next to you, tiny enough to fit in your palm, scratching the dragon's skin.

"Gov-er-nor…" the traveler on the ground repeats, and this time the dragon sits down like an obedient dog.

You climb to its neck and catch your breath. This is a massive beast, and you feel a surge of confidence within you that says you could ride it.

The fire is drying out quickly around you, and everything seems fine.

Then you notice the brand on the dragon's neck. It is a deep burn mark, and it reads, 6.20.

Great job, Wolf and Muff! Muff, maybe you should hop on board and we can fly it back to the owner? Razz What dya think?

Got my response!

Quote:
Hanging overhead, you spy on Ifihadahifi, who has picked up the binoculars lying at his feet. The sky is an odd mixture of night and day – over the village it appears to be early, misty morning, but here, over the mansion, it looks like twilight.

Then, Ifihadahifi looks right at you! – but you hide yourself instantly. Several seconds pass where you are certain he is looking for you, but then he gives up, and you can breathe again.

Your target wanders back and forth for several minutes, and then he sees it, a pathetic excuse for a vampire bat, slumped behind a chimney stack, pitiful and afraid, with ribs showing through its patchy fur.

There are two items left on the roof, and Ifihadahifi is not paying attention to them: a life bead, and a honeydew melon. You may take only one item per turn.

I'm feeling torn here. A large part of me wants to stop posting my back and forth in here, as I'm meant to be spying undetected-like. But that goes against my generic unforum rules. Thoughts?

I haven't decided on my exact line of attack (though it's starting to formulate), so there's time to decide if Ifi gets to know exactly what I do...

THE STATUE IS THE STATUE OF THE MAN WHO TURNED TRANSITION VILLAGE TO A GHOST TOWN. THE ITEM IN

HIS HAND IS OF SPECIAL CONSEQUENCE TO AT LEAST ONE GHOST, POSSIBLY TWO. YOU WILL BE

TRANSPORTED TO THE UPSTAIRS WINDOW OF THE SERVANT'S ROOM. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FINDING

YOUR OWN WAY IN AND TO THE STATUE. THE ONLY ITEM YOU MAY BRING IN IS THE STEALTH SUIT INCLUDED

IN THIS LETTER. YOU MAY PICK UP ANY ITEMS YOU HAVE TIME TO GRAB ALONG THE WAY AND KEEP THEM

FOR YOURSELF

You are outside your starting point. There is a ghost in the room, sitting on a bed and crying.

It's not to hide what I'm doing from the PM though -- he/she already knows what I'm doing. It's to hide it from Ifi. Not that Ifi is bad or anything, but it is going to be difficult/impossible for him/her to truly truly not be affected by what I'm doing if he/she can just read it here. The same goes for me reading what Ifi's doing (I'm considering trying my best to ignore his/her entries).

Sorry, no. I think you've probably found a brand new character. I wonder how close you are to me and Ifi, being on the outside of the "upstairs" window. Not that we could see you, but I wonder if you would notice us if we somehow set ourselves on fire or something.

Also, am I the only one to be transported around without any inventory?

Got this today:
Quote:

As you try to calm the dragon down, you see both your tiny friend and your new, human-sized companion both crawl up the back of the dragon.

"Alright..." you say soothingly, "do you know the Governor? Hmm? Gov-er-nor..."

The dragon snorts. It seems the dragon does know the Governor. Now you hold your breath a moment and hope that the Governor is a friend to the dragon.

"Gov-er-nor…" you repeat, and this time the beast sits obediently on its hind legs. It looks at you in expectation, as if it wants to know where to go.

The fire is drying out quickly around you, and everything seems fine.

Now is an opportunity to return the dragon to the mansion. You look to your friends for their input.

My reply:
Quote:
"Well, at least it hasn't decided to roast me yet." I say to myself. I decide to take a chance and walk up to the dragon, gently placing a hand on its snout.

"Easy, boy, easy..."
The dragon snorts appreciatively, and I notice both my pint-sized friend and the newcomer saddled atop its back, apparently looking at something on the dragon's neck.

"What's it say?" I ask the newcomer.

"It's some kind of mark from a branding iron, looks like it says 'six-twenty.' Not sure what to make of it."

"Maybe that's how much he costs!" the tiny traveler quips. The dragon glances back at us, almost looking offended...well, as offended as a dragon can look.

"Relax, it was a joke", I say to it, not entirely sure it understood.

"So what do you guys think? Should we try and ride this fella back to the mansion? I don't suppose anyone has any experience in controlling a three ton, fire-breathing dragon?..."

haha , sorry bout no inventory, that bites, and look at me with my stealth suit, I think ill avoid the problem by not taking to many moves in the open, also I have to avoid everyone and everything lol, that is gonna be fun,.

As for the girl NOT my problem someone else will have to take care of her, for now my empathy has to be put aside for the mission.. and btw
IGNORE ME .. really i mean it .

Stealth suit rocks.

I get the feeling that your mission depends on nobody trying to mess with your invisible self. Don't worry, I'm not about to try and test how far the invisibility suit goes. I'm mildly convinced that Ifi is going to somehow hurt the bat -- whether on purpose or not, and I'm supposed to stop it. I'm laser focussed on that.

From one secretive guy to another, let's just pass like shadows in the night and hopefully you're not here to spy on me! Wink

Whew, at least my headache is not for nothing. Slowly I try to sit up,still feeling a lil bit jittery.
After some minutes rest I stand up. Again I look around the room. Maybe I should take a look into the cabinet above the wash basin. After all I still need the thimble.

You shake off the jitters and walk over to the cabinet that hangs above the wash basin. It smells of wet towels and cleaning supplies. Looking inside, you find three items: a life bead, a hand cloth, and container of powdered soap. You may take only one item per turn.

Carefully I take the life bead out of the cabinet. It's really beautiful, like the last one, I've seen.
I hold it pretty close to my eye and try to look through it.

My first reply that i think is now in game,,

Quote:
So this means its time for me to make my first move then.. Outside the window to the servents room, I wonder if it costs me my move to get a desription, but it matters not, stealth is about being cautious. Also just how stealthy is my suit , what are its capabilities, if i may ask, only so i know what im working with here...

I find myself outside the window, glancing in so as not to be seen from the ledge I look into the room, in order to make my way with out being seen I will need to know the lay of the room to best decide where to move and anything that may be useful to hide behind, also is the girl crying on the bed facing me or away from me . I wonder how far that door is, and if it is open or shut. My hope is to not blow this mission before it starts.

On a whim, and a suggestion from Caffeind, I've set up an IRC channel for Transition Village.

Server: irc.chat-solutions.org
Port: I use 6667, not sure if others work
Channel: #village

At the moment it's just me and caffeind, so come on in and join us!

Also, my two fellow pet-finding travellers, you okay with me telling our little $6.20 friend to fly us back to his home?

Absolutely! Worst-case scenario, we all fall to a horrible death and are subsequently forced to watch the dragon eat our dead bodies while our ghosts are trapped for eternity in the village! HOORAY!

Laughing

Seriously, go for it!

Wiki Wiki Wiki

Okay, I don't have everything up that I wanted, but it's a good start, if I do say so myself.

There's a wiki up now at http://tv2.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page

It has a map of the village as well as a complete listing of known rooms in the mansion itself. Caffiend, it even has a map from where you are to the statue you seek. You are outside the Servants Room, look there.

It's kindof sloppy right now, and could use some more content and a lot of cleaning up, but that's what all of you guys are for, right? ... Right?

As I reach the dragons neck, I stand up and look down at the ground. The crackling flames on the ground are dying out, and I can see the traveler standing out in front of the dragon, still staring fixedly at him/her. The chaos seems to be dwindling.

Suddenly, the dragon shifts beneath me, folding his... her... its knees, down into a crouch. I cling to its neck as it drops down, wondering what's happening, why it's dropping and why I forgot to pack my cowboy hat. As the dragon settles on the ground, I realise I can feel something beneath my palm. I look down, seeing a healed scar - no, a brand on its neck, in the shape of the characters 6.20. I hear the traveller on the ground ask me what it says, so I tell the traveller. I hear the tiny traveller behind me make some witty comment, and the dragon grumble beneath me in protest, but I wasn't focussing as I think, "could it possible be a date? Because... that's tomorrow!"

Again, the talkative traveller in front of me speaks: "...I don't suppose anyone has any experience in controlling a three ton, fire-breathing dragon?..."

I grin down at the traveller. "This is your lucky day," I say. "Climb aboard!"

The traveller quickly runs behind the patiently waiting dragon, clambering quickly up to the mid-back with his companion. I check to make sure everyone's seated, then reach over a scratch the dragon behind the ears, drawing a low, pleased, grumbling sound from its throat. "Whoosa good boy, den?" I coo gently. "Does oo want to go home?"

I feel the dragon shift slightly beneath me, which I take for a yes. "Awwlrighty den! Yip yip!"

The dragon shifts slightly beneath me, and I yell back to the dragons other passengers, "Hang on tight!" as the dragon extends its legs, pushing itself off the ground, then in midair unfurling its giant, scaly wings and forces them down, propelling itself higher. Flap, flap, flap, the wings pushing again and again downwards. I can feel the G-forces pushing on me as I hold tight to the dragons neck, soaring foth over the trees, towards the dragons home...

Up, up and awaaaay! By the way, did anyone catch the dragons gender? I keep typing things like 'the dragon extends her wings' and things like that Very Happy

Also, the wiki page for the 'dragon quest' is here. I've set up a kind of basic template, and I'll be adding all of my messages later on, probably tomorrow. In the meantime, sleeeeeeeep...

I check the room first to make sure there are no moniterig devices, traps, or alarms and get to work on the lock with the scalpule I took from the lab. while working the lock with my tallent I look around the room to find my dusting kit and see what ever else might be in this room.

T.V.
Quote:
Stealthily moving through the room, you make certain that nothing will detect your inappropriate movements. Nothing seems to be monitoring you, so you grab the dusting kit that was sitting next to the door and go straight for the cabinet that is locked. With a scalpel that you very naughtily stole from the laboratory without even telling anyone, you begin to pick the lock.

It pops open in seconds.

Inside are three items: a life bead, a pair of handcuffs, and a pinwheel. You may take only one item per turn.

Quote:
No bottle just as I thought. This must be a test or trap by the naughty ghosts. If I don't get my simple anwsers then I know something is wrong. I take the life bead and quickly close the door. I see no other locked cabinets. I then start dusting the many cabinets and look for a second door to leave through when I am done.

T.V.
Quote:
Keeping your wits about you, you realize that what you need is a bottle, so you shut the cabinet and begin dusting. From behind you as you dust, you hear a sharp click. It's the lock you picked earlier!

You walk back over to it and see that the lock itself is not a normal lock. That may be why it opened to easily. No, this lock looks much more like a tiny bottle…

The Governor is evil!
Or just made a huge mistake...

From the previous game:

Quote:
I am standing there – a living man, and not a traveler. I wear a black suit and a top hat, and I am both round and regal. I walk into the silent crowd.

"You saved Earl," I say with a glance around. "Well done. I ought to introduce myself, I suppose, although we have communicated many times. I am The Governor."

From this game:

Lairosiel wrote:
This time you find yourself at the bottom of a grand staircase that goes up to the left and to the right, with a great statue in the middle of a stout man wearing a top hat.
