Looks like a need a fact that I don't have time to look for. Unfortunately, I hardly have any computer time until I get home on Sunday. Anyone care to help?

TV said:

The ghost looks at you for a long time and then says, "I can allow you in to the Grand Ballroom for two moves only IF you can tell me one fact about one person buried here. That is the fee."

Response to my turn:
Quote:
You have the knife, and you see Wolf working to calm the wolf with a bone. Muff thinks, then points at the beast.

Quickly, you see what he means: this is not an angry wolf; this is a friendly dog. Wolf has already tamed the beast.

This is your chance. You step forward and request an audience with the animal. You ask, "Where can the dragon be found?"

The wolf sits up and sniffs. He looks unimpressed.

Then, out of nowhere, the wolf begins barking and banging his tail against a nearby tree. There is something rhythmic about his barking and wagging.

You imagine that each thump is a short sound, and each bark is a longer one.

The morse code translated to "HOW CAN I TRUST YOU?" I'll write my response tomorrow morning Smile

Quote:

The King is angry. He demands answers as he slips his half-open hand down to his side and lets you look out.
"Tell me about these ghosts. What makes you think they know how to restore my Queen?"
From where you are, you have full view of the dance floor and the bar, but of no people.
"Well, I overheard some ghosts," the traveler tells the King. "They mentioned that some spirits had been imprisoned because they were attempting to free themselves so that they could reverse the effects on the Priestess. I assume that they could also reverse the effects on our Queen. Of course, they're not 100% reliable, but I think it's worth a try. What do we have to lose?"
There are some shoes and legs in your sight, but nothing else of interest.
The bartender seems very agitated. "Don't touch any of the bottles! I have reason to believe the bottle of Fishspear caused the Queen to Disappear! Sir King, I am deeply sorry about the Queen and will work in any capacity to help. You must know," he goes on, "there are spirits imprisoned in the bottles. They are of no useful help claimed. They are very deceitful and not to be trusted. They are in the bottles awaiting their fate from the Governor. I have been tasked to watch over them until the Governor can deal with them appropriately." He hurries back to the bar, clearly worried, and begins to look through some items with his back to you.
Seeing him there makes you feel very wiggly, and you can't stop moving. It is as if your body is trying to jump out of your current form, but it can't. Something is still wrong.

I feel a bit... useless at the moment ~.~

You don't know what he is talking about, but you make your case. Worried that something else may go wrong at any minute, you hurry back to the bar and begin searching through things.

There the ghosts sit, trapped in their bottles.

"Let us out," moans the woman. "Please. We were so close to our freedom."

"Just wait 'til I get my hands on you, you little –"

"Stop it," the woman warns her cousin.

There are so many things to consider. But, after all, you don't want to let your employer down.

The King seems lost in thought. You wiggle in his hand, but nothing comes of it, as he doesn't move.
The bartender snaps at the other traveler. "I have dealt with these ghosts before they were put in the bottles. I know they were trying to escape. I had a lengthy conversation with them at that time. They said nothing to me about reversing the effects on the Priestess. What do we have to lose? The ghosts and the havoc they will reap on us! NO! They are for the Governor to deal with only! If you can think of nothing else to help, then find the Governor. He will answer your question if the deceitful ghosts can help. I think the Governor himself can help or point us in the right direction."
You hear him pick something up and shuffle through it.
"I am reading this book to help. I suggest everyone else forget about the bottles and find something to do to help, too."
Persuaded that the spirits in the bottles either can help or just ought to be freed, you wish for their release.
Surprisingly, your wishes come out as a disembodied voice that fills up the ballroom. "I am the festival Queen! I wish to free the ghosts!"

Hmm, has it really been this long since I posted? Oops.

Last thing I posted:
TV wrote:
You entertain the idea of embracing your vampire status with a nifty cape made out of sheets, but then abandon that plan and choose to grab some soap instead.

Honestly, it can't be a bad plan to carry soap – ever.

After another lick or two of the droplets of blood (thank goodness that little, round bat isn't with you to steal all the food), you will be ready.

Relatively fed and armed with cleanliness, you throw open the first door you can reach and announce your wish.

"Hello! I'm looking for the Governor! Can anyone hear me?"

A very confused-looking ghost stands up from the bed and wipes his eyes. He is a young man, and he is dressed as a driver.

"Uh, I can hear you," he says. "You need the Governor? He's kind of hard to find. What do you need?"

Me wrote:
I need to find the governor so that he can hopefully make me not want to eat people anymore. I mean, suck their blood. Look, it's a long story, but I don't want to hurt anyone. I'll tell you my long story, and I'll listen to yours just as soon as I'm cured, but for that to happen, I need the governor. Any chance you could fly around and look for him for me?

I thought I could get some help if I promised to listen to what is obviously a distressed ghost. Apparently someone else already took that path though...

TV wrote:
The ghost shakes his head. "I can't," he says. "The Governor will want to know where his keys are as soon as he sees me, and I have lost them. Another traveler like you… well," he clears his throat, "not quite like you… is looking for them now. I think."

Dejected, you slump backward against the wall. Your stomach growls.

"There may be a way," the ghost says. "There's a vampire hunter who haunts the mansion, I've heard, though I've never met her. Maybe, if you can find her, you can ask her to cure you instead of killing you."

The boy shrugs. "It's the best idea I have. The legend says that she haunts the statue some nights. Good luck."

I was having a bad day this day and was a little shorter than usual, frustrated at the lack of help from Mr. Ghosty Pants.

Me wrote:
"I don't know anything about any keys. Hopefully I won't run into your helper and bite them before they can find your keys." Realizing that this ghost is unwilling to risk getting in trouble to save my life and the lives of all the other bloodbags in the mansion, I dejectedly leave out the other door to see if I have better luck on that side of the door.

TV wrote:
Apparently the ghost, having no blood himself, doesn't care as much about your plight as he does about his own.

You sigh and leave the room.

This brings you to a hallway. There is a door to your right that you haven't been in. The door in front of you and the one just to your left have both been entered by you already. Beyond that, there are three more doors to your left that you have yet to explore.

There is also a stairway leading down just behind you.

I decided that I would try to bend fate to what I wanted again and instead of heading to the statue (which is downstairs), I would try my hand at making someone help me again, while filling out the map.

Me wrote:
Hmmm. Do I try another room or another floor? My gut tells me that I should go to another floor, but my gut got me turned into a vampire, so I throw open the door to my right, trying to cut as imposing a figure as I can with my mounting hunger problem.

Again, I make an announcement, even before I am able to take the whole room in. "I need help locating the Governor! It's a matter of life, death, and undeath!" As I'm yelling, I take a look around me.

It didn't work. Another admonition about finding the vampire hunter, though she isn't called as much this time.

TV wrote:
You throw open the door with your most intimidating, I'm-going-to-get-you attitude, and announce that you need the Governor immediately.

"Oh, my," a female voice cries from across the room.

It is the ghost of a pretty, young lady, wearing a servant's dress and apron. She clutches a letter to her chest, and you realize you must have just interrupted her reading.

This room is much like the last one: small, with a cold, wooden floor. There is a tiny bed, a dresser at the left wall, and a closet across the room where the girl is standing.

"The Governor?" She looks a little flushed, for a ghost. "We can't just call him in unless it's an emergen –" Her eyes narrow for a moment, and then a look of understanding comes across her transparent face.

You wait for her to finish.

"Oooh," she says. "You're a vampire."

You nod.

"Well, that's an easy fix," she says. "No need to trouble the Governor over it. All you'll need are some pieces of glass, the bat who got you (I reckon that's probably Marcus), and a drop of blood. I'd give you mine, but…" she frowns. "I don't have any, of course."

With a plan in mind, you start for the door, but she calls out, "Once you have all the items, take them to Miss Marcia downstairs. She's normally hiding around the statue. She'll know what to do."

TV's reply to my last turn:
Quote:
There is quite a lot to consider, and you are lost in thought. Both specs of dirt wiggle, trying to get your attention, but you are taking your time. It is imperative that you make the right choice.
In your ear, the traveler whispers, "I think we should free the spirits. I don't want the Priestess or the Queen to stay as dirt, to be honest. It doesn't look like the bartender is going to help us though. What do you suggest we do?"

From across the room, the bartender argues with him.

Flustered, the bartender picks up a book and begins reading.

"I am reading this book to help. I suggest everyone else forget about the bottles and find something to do to help, too."
Just then, a disembodied voice fills up the ballroom, and your hand vibrates so much you almost drop the dirt. "I am the festival Queen! I wish to free the ghosts!"

My reply:
Quote:
Shaking myself free of my thoughts I look down at my hand where the Queen has just made her wishes known despite her tiny size. I'm overwhelmed with compassion, I can't imagine how awful it must be in her situation but the minute she cried out in desperation something within me told me she was wrong and I had to stop her, for her own good.

Calling out in an equally loud tone I reply, "And I, the King of the festival, say the imprisoned ghosts will STAY that way!"

My face flushes as I realize I might have been a little too loud and forceful, but I notice I have complete silence as all look on me in shock. I suppose after my lengthy silence they are surprised at my outburst, but it is my duty to protect my Queen.

Looking down at my hand I open it to reveal the dirt mite that is Lairo.
"Queen, we're not new to this village like our friends here. There may be many strange things to Transition Village, but we know the Governor to be good and trustworthy. If he has deemed these ghosts need to be imprisoned we must trust his judgement."

Ask the bartender to get his employer! The Priestess pipes up in my mind, like a tickle at the back of my thoughts.

Walking to the bartender I take his arm in hand, pulling his attention from the book he's frantically searching.

"Your boss. Get your boss now. Please."

Yeah, yeah he is.

I think I probably was a little confusing in my reply. I meant for Greystone to ask for the ghost who hired him, not the actual Governor since he never shows up.

Greystone, what's the name of the ghost who hired you? I can't remember his name, but we need to get him. Who knows, maybe he unjustly imprisoned the ghosts and the Governor had nothing to do with it... Shocked

Yes, I have definitely mad another friend:
Quote:
You have tamed the beast, and you hope your friends notice before they try to do anything drastic.

As you scratch the wolf's ribs and rub its tummy with your tiny hands, it wags its tail and groans with happiness. You hang on tight to its matted, messy fur.

It is not long, though, before Fractal steps forward and requests an interview with the wolf. He wants to know where the dragon can be found.

The wolf sits up and sniffs. He looks unimpressed.

Then, out of nowhere, the wolf begins barking. You clutch his fur as his bangs his tail against a tree behind you. There is something rhythmic about his barking and wagging.

Rhythmic barking and wagging? Is the wolf barking in code?

In my response, I believe it was enough to save both the queen and the priestess. I believe most of you have read it already in one form or another.

My response:
Quote:
I continue reading through the bartending book in order to find something to help.

I reply to my aggressor. "I have dealt with these ghost before they were put in the bottles. He will can answer your question if the deceitful ghost can help. I think the Governor him self can help or point us in the right direction of not."

"I am reading this book to help. I suggest everyone else forget about the bottles and find something to do to help too."

The King seems lost in thought as you argue with the traveler about the ghosts.

Perhaps there is an answer within the bartender's guide. You shuffle furiously through the pages, searching for Fishspear. It is not under F. Then it occurs to you that the drink has always been called "The Fishspear," and you find it under T. Odd.

The Fishspear does exactly what its name suggests – when you put the letters in the right order. The drinker will gain the power of the drink, but beware! Effects may happen against the drinker's will if he or she is unaware of the power. Once the drink is understood, the power can be harnessed quite easily.

Just then, a disembodied voice fills up the ballroom, and you nearly drop the book in surprise. "I am the festival Queen! I wish to free the ghosts!"

The drink is an anagram. I thought of it before just didn't try it until now.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
My best anagram came up with "A FRESH SIP" The Queen downed the shot not sipped it. The drink must be sipped. We must include the word "THE" though. Now get "RESHAPE SHIFT"! I think that is even better. Now the person who sips the drink needs to concentrate on their shape.

P.S. FSURobbie: Mr Unsound is correct. The Wiki that is being maintained by "negativeview" is a very good resource to look this obscure events. Good to see your thinking and trying to help with situations. We don't want anyone dying this game even if some are undead at the moment. They are not dead, just mostly dead. I think we can help fix that.

Thanks, I'm trying to be a good King. So you think Lairo and the priestess just need to focus on their shape? The priestess didn't drink The Fishspear though, she was a dusty ghost to begin with who changed her size on her own. At least that was my take on it.

Agree or disagree?

Can anyone help with this? I really have no idea how to find who is buried in the cemetery.

The ghost listens to your story of Jan Smoulter and shakes her head. "Sadly," she says, "you are incorrect. That was a very good guess, but unfortunately for you, Jan Smoutler is nolonger buried here. We have two new bodies in this graveyard now. Perhaps your friends know of them? They're bound to have run into one or another around the village."
