Aaawww...Now I'm blushing... Embarassed

My reply for today, following Lairo's lead:
Quote:

Once again stunned by the radiance of the Queen, I realize I'm holding my breath as the Priestess giggles at my insecurity inside my mind. Breathing again, I take hold of the Queen and we waltz for what seems like an eternity before she asks me what drew my attention away from her.

Confused for a minute, I clear my head and remember what she's talking about.

"Um, I found a note...", I mumble, embarrassed for some reason.

Taking it out of my pocket where I had put it earlier, I hand it to her and let her read it. After reading it she pulls a life bead out of her purse and shows it to me, obviously pleased with herself.

"Seems that life bead of yours may be important after all. There are two more in the corner of this room, I think we better grab them."

Taking the Queen's hand, I lead her to the corner where I saw the life beads as we go together to retrieve them.

Sorry, I haven't been following TV2 and only now saw that you need information about Creepy Luny Inn.

No worries. The information was still pretty fresh, and you gave me more than I found out on my own. I'll keep an eye out for Randy or Jeremy. It's a little odd though. I haven't noticed anyone else meeting a ghost with a name, and the graveyard even is supposedly to happen soon... Who's the other choice?

catch up

Been a bit for my posting let me catch you up to my work

Me
Quote:
There isnt much for me to do then at this time, I think to myself , reminding myself that just because I dont see anyone doesnt mean that I can let my gaurd down,.. I poke around the stairs going down behind me, Is there any clue to what may be down there... I wonder just how far it is to the statue. I let my ears search where my ears cannot.. am I still the only one here.. sliding against a wall I prepare for the next set of stairs.. Wondering what I shall find.

TV
Quote:
As silent as the air, you sneak down the stairs, listening for anyone who might be nearby. The area seems clear… for now.

When you reach the next landing, you find yourself at the bottom of a grand staircase that goes up to the left and to the right, with a great statue in the middle of a stout man wearing a top hat. There is a door behind you and another one across the room. To your left, behind the staircase, is another room. To your right, in front of you, is another staircase leading down. Directly to your right is an enormous door with a note on it. The note reads, "NOT TO BE OPENED WITHOUT PERMISSION." Upon closer inspection, you see that the statue has something in its right hand. You could probably take it out – if you could reach that high.

ME
Quote:
I have a good feeling that this is none other than the statue ive been seeking. But now how to get up to his hand, its very high up, I must search the room for a way to get up there, perhaps something i can climb up that is close enough to it , something i could maybe leap from onto his arm or the likes.... I take a safe place in a hidden spot and study my new hurdle carefully, not yet sure how long I have before I am found, I keep one ear and eye tuned to anyone who may come my way..... now i do wonder what that is in his hand???

TV
Quote:
An absent-minded traveler is working his way up the staircase to the left, so you hang to the right of the statue, very quietly climbing your way up.

But you keep slipping. There is no way to climb this structure, it seems.

You step back and take another look at the object in its hands. They both extend outward and nearly touch the banisters on either side. There must be another way to reach whatever the statue is holding

ME
Quote:

I wonder if I could reach the object if I used the banisters, but for the moment I wait for the person in the room to make their way to where ever it is they are headed, So for the time I sit still and plan...

( sorry busy day here)

TV
Quote:
There are two travelers in the room now! You stay very still, and they do not notice you.

One turns and enters a room on his right. The other turns around and knocks on the large door at the entrance to the mansion.

You take this chance to sneak up the right banister, toward the right hand of the statue.

Across the way, you see yet another traveler coming down the left stairway. This is a popular area. You'll have to be very careful. Luckily, no one seems to be looking upward.

Once you reach hand level with the statue, you begin to stealthily climb over toward him.

You gasp and nearly fall, just catching your balance in time. Did the statue look at you? Did he narrow his eyes?

Now you look at his hand. It is no longer an open palm, but a clenched fist. This is more than just a stone structure. How will you talk him out of whatever he is holding?

And things just got very intresting

Surprised that the Doctor vanished without causing more problems (I haven't seen ghosts beating up anyone yet, but I'm not positive that it can't happen...), I go down the stairs to find the Statue Room. Wait... statue... I'm here!

I creep over to the statue, keeping out of eye shot of the traveller, lest he decide that I am a threat and whisper to nobody in particular. "Miss Marcia, if you are in there somewhere, I could use your help. I don't have Marcus, but I was hoping you might be able to help me with that part, too. I do have glass and some blood. I didn't bite anyone to get the blood... but that traveller is looking pretty tasty... Can you save me from myself? Or am I just crazy and talking to a statue?"

You take a look around.

"Or am I just crazy and talking to a statue?"

There is some movement up above, at the hand of the statue, and you are sure for just a moment that the thing has moved slightly. You can't remember exactly how it looked before, but something is different.

Then, to your surprise, a tiny trap door opens in the statue's right shoe, and out walks a miniature woman! She is round and has thick, curly hair that sticks out of her head like an overgrown bush.

"I'm Miss Marcia," she says to you in a voice much deeper than you were expecting. "And you," she says, eyeing you suspiciously, "are a vampire."

You nod.

"We will need a volunteer," she says. "Someone who is willing to go to battle with you. Someone who is not already infected."

Battle? You're supposed to battle?

Miss Marcia doesn't seem to notice your shock – or perhaps she doesn't care. She hops down to the floor and heads directly for the stairs at the right end of the room. "This way," she says. "Mr. Unsound will know the right person for the task."

The bolding was in the original (it was also bigger text). I believe it to be a mistake, but replicated it just in case.

Looks like I have to fight someone. And it also looks like I'm perpetually a thorn in Caffiend's side. Dunno who was knocking at the door, but I like their style. I've been wondering like mad what is behind these forbidden doors.

Hey Lairo, it's up to us to save Randy! We have to make something to show the Governor that Randy is worth reviving, he's counting on us!

Quote:
After a breathtaking dance with the Queen, she stops to ask what you had been reading. For several seconds, you are clearly distracted by her beauty, but then you remember and pull out a note.
She reads it and then thinks. Soon, she opens her purse and pulls out a life bead.

You are glad to see she has exactly what you need. "Seems that life bead of yours may be important after all. There are two more in the corner of this room, I think we better grab them," you say, and you take her hand.
Together, you head toward a corner to retrieve the life beads.
Then, before you, a ghost appears! This is a friendly-looking person, and you are certain you recognize him. He wears a worn out hat on his head and a plaid shirt. The expression on his face is just short of desperation.
"Please," he says. "I've talked to I can't tell you how many travelers here, but they don't seem to care! I'm stuck in this awful place. It's like, every time I try to tell them that I'm an important marketing genius, they get lost in thought, or they run off to do something else! I know I'm intimidatin' and all, but come on."

You and the Queen listen. He sounds as though he's on the verge of tears, though he's too manly to let it show.

"The Governor says that if I approach two travelers at once, they have to do something extra-special before I can be brought back. I don't even know whether…" then his eyes fix on the Queen. "Lairo! Lairo like Cairo! Hey, Polar Bear Girl!!! You look great! You going to a party?"

She gives him a friendly nod, and he laughs.

"Well, that's great. It's good to see both of you! Look, could you do me a favor? The Governor needs to know real soon that I'm worth savin'. He needs to know my name, and he needs to see somethin' impressive about why I should be let back. I really don't want to stay here, man. Please help me out? Post something where he can see?"

And, with that, the ghost vanishes. You are alone with the Queen.

Fractal the Frozen? Hmm, I like that... Very Happy Yes, sorry, I have been inactive for a while, I've been kind of busy with schoolwork lately. Anyways, I wrote something quickly:

Quote:
I slowly drift out of my daydream. It seems I've zoned out again, and am now standing with my companions and a whimpering wolf near a makeshift campsite. There appear to be several ghosts sitting around a campfire, making terrible jokes which, while seeming terribly unrefined in comparison to my unparalleled wit, Muff could probably learn a thing or too from.

I turn to face my companions, and for some strange reason I feel several small sheets of ice slide off of my body. Wondering where the hell they came from, I shake off the remaining icicles and say, "So, guys, any ideas on what we should do? Should Wolf and the wolf distract the ghost while Muff and I break the dragon out, or what?"

Hey all, been out of town on emergency notice for a few days, so I've got some catching up to do. Hope Fractal and Wolf did okay without me!

Since that seems to be the only option being considered, you nod. The wolf looks back at you, and you pat him on the back. He snarls and bounds forward into the camp, barking at the ghosts who sit around it.

Now's your chance. You and Fractal dash over to the tent and sneak inside. There, the dragon is tied up pretty tightly. You need to hurry.

Uh oh, looks like we need to wrap this up. I'll send my response in the morning, need sleep for now.

Mmm, I'm not sure. I wanted to make something over the weekend but was too busy. I imagine we just need to throw something together like we did in the past showing Randy is worth saving, but I don't really have any images of him or anything.

We need to find some assets to pull together and get it put togther quick.

I got this in my inbox last night, I feel bad for the PM's, seems like we all disappeared over the weekend and they've been waiting on us... Sad

Feeling more confident now that I have a guide, I stand up straight and walk in the light. Making small talk as I follow Miss Marcia, I ask "So what's behind all these doors with dire warnings on them? Garlic? Crosses? A new Paris Hilton album?"

I take a closer look at the soap as I walk, on the off chance that it's some sort of magic soap and I hadn't noticed before.

TV wrote:
Miss Marcia ignores you as you follow her asking questions, and she heads down the side stairs, into a downstairs kitchen. In the middle of the room are a long table and a sink. There is a small door across the room that leads to what looks like a tiny office. To your right is a door that appears to lead to a downstairs entrance to the mansion. There is a note on the door that reads, "NOT TO BE OPENED WITHOUT PERMISSION."

Your guide seems to be listening for someone, and you take this opportunity to examine the soap you took earlier. It looks rather ordinary, though you feel cleaner every time you touch it. On the face of the bar is a logo: Sticky Itchers Shower Scrub. Below that is an image of what appears to be a loofah with an X over it. This might be important to keep for later, so you place it back in your pocket.

Finally, Miss Marcia seems to decide that the time is right, and she pushes the small office door open. You follow.

"Ah!" says the ghost of a butler. He is talking to another traveler.

"Shag," Miss Marcia says, "you see this traveler's condition. He needs to battle. Soon."

"Of course, madam," the butler says as though she had just requested tea. "Right away. We have our new assistant right here." He indicates the other traveler.

The other traveler looks just as confused and worried as you – if not more so. After all, you're the vampire, not he.

The butler hands something to the other traveler, and Miss Marcia gives you a measuring cup.

"You'll have to battle quickly," she says. "There's only the week left in the village for you. Go on, now." Miss Marcia gives you a little nudge into the kitchen. "Let's see who has the better recipe."

I believe that I was just given the end-time for the game. Hurry up, people!

I have been!

Lairo, if you want to add to what I've sent feel free, I was just trying to get something pumped out before we ran out of time. I wasn't trying to cut you out, I promise, I just realize that the back and forth through the boards takes longer than just throwing something together and sending it...Depending on what you create (if you want to create something) maybe we can combine them?

My reply and links to help Randy:
Quote:
Looking back and forth from my Queen and the newly arrived traveler, I'm dumbstruck by the ghost standing before us and I realize my mouth is hanging open.

"Randy Porknut? THE Randy Porknut!?! I use Sticky Itchers! It's the best bath scrub ever! I was at your memorial in Hollywood, CA the other day paying my respects. Man, you're like a hero to me, your bath scrub gets me clean but doesn't make me feel like a sissy!"

I realize that I've started speaking far too quickly and that I'm almost jumping up and down with excitement. Everyone, including Randy, is looking at me like I'm not quite right and I feel the Priestess giggling at me in the back of my mind. Taking a moment, I cough a little and straighten my hat as I look around nervously.

"Ha. Um...So yeah, while I was at your memorial I took some pics for my files. I also picked up the commermorative issue of the Transition Times covering your death. The Governor can see both of them here:"

I force a grumble or two before mumbling, "I hope that helps...Queen, do you have anything to add?"

To TV:

Quote:
Fractal and I frantically start untying the ropes holding the dragon down, keeping an eye on the wolf, who has succeeded in distracting the ghosts. Some of them try chasing after the wolf, a few other keeping their distance and shouting obscenities at it.

"Don't worry, my friend, we're here to help you" I say to the dragon as we slip him free of the first set of knots.

"We need to hurry this up, Muff. I don't think those ghosts will forget about the dragon for long." Fractal says. The dragon huffs, a small puff of flame shooting from his mouth.

"I know, I know, I'm going as fast as I can here" I reply.

The wolf, with Wolf riding it, has drawn the ghosts into the corner of the camp. Wolf is hurling insults at the ghosts as we untie another set of knots. The dragon tries to wriggle free, but is still trapped. It roars in frustration, causing one of the ghosts to look back, realizing that a large, fire-breathing, angry creature is about to be set loose upon them. He scowls as he spots Fractal and I.

"Oy, 'oo the 'ell do you think you are?! That's our bloody dragon!"

The wolf lunges at the ghost, somehow being able to bite his leg. The ghost swears loudly and tries to shake the wolf off. The other ghosts chase after him, with Wolf yelling out to her furry friend to warn him where the attackers at coming from.

"Almost got it, just a few more ropes!" I shout to her. Several of the ghosts break off from following the wolf, and start running towards the dragon.

"Uhh, Fractal, they don't look too happy to see us."

"Thanks for stating the obvious, Muff. These ropes aren't exactly easy to untie!" Fractal replies as he struggles with one of the final ropes. The dragon lets loose with a blast of fire, trying to keep the ghosts back. They stumble back for a few seconds, but run around to the sides of the dragon where they can't be touched by the flames. One of the ghosts lunges at me, and I duck out of the way. Fractal manages to get another rope off the dragon, leaving only a single rope. Free to move a little, the dragon flaps his enormous wings, blowing several of the ghosts back. Fractal and I brace ourselves against the wind blast. Another ghost dives at me, grabbing me from behind. I struggle to get free, but it's surprisingly strong.

"Hold on, Muff!" I hear Wolf shout as she and the wolf bound over to the fight. The wolf bites the ghost holding me, but another ghost kicks the wolf out of the way. It goes flying several feet away with a yelp.

"I've got it! I've got it!" Fractal yells, finally untying the last rope that held the dragon in place. He's grabbed by a pair of ghosts, and struggles to get free. The dragon roars in anger as the last rope falls off of it. With everyone being held by the ghosts, things are starting to look very bad for us. The dragon swipes a ghost away, but others replace it.
An idea pops into my mind, and I immediately shout it to Fractal.

"Fractal, tell the dragon to unleash the biggest blast of fire he can on us!"

"What?!"

"Just do it! We'll be fine! I hope. We don't have any other choice!"

"Muff, you're taking a huge risk here!"

"I know! But if I'm right, we'll live through this!"

"And if you're wrong?!"

"Then the village gets a few more ghosts, doesn't it?!"

Fractal searches for the right words for a few seconds, ducking a hit from a ghost. He shouts out a Draconic phrase at the dragon.

"VALIGNAT WER GHOSTS! CHIILI TI HOLD SPICAL!"

The dragon flaps up into the air above us, inhaling a huge lungful of air. If I'm right, then the dragon's fire can only hurt those it hates. If I'm wrong...well, the rest of our stay is going to be very painful.
The dragon roars as loud as it can, points its head down at us, and unleashes an enormous blast of fire...

Here's hoping...

Yep it is me. I had to be quiet for a bit but I have been here the whole time. I am the new assistant to the Governor.

Quote:
Already familiar with the kitchen area, you open the door to Mr. Unsound's office without knocking.

"Excuse me," the butler says, standing from his desk and arranging the glasses on his face. He looks annoyed. But then he recognizes you and steps forward.

"It's you," he says. "I have been waiting. Congratulations on the promotion." The ghost extends his transparent hand, and you shake it. To your surprise, there is actually something to shake, though it feels light and airy, and… not of this world.

"The Governor needs to you begin immediately," Mr. Unsound continues, "as you have only one week left in the village. Ah!" He looks at the door behind you. Someone has just come in. You turn to see a tiny woman leading another traveler into the room. Something is wrong with the traveler…

"Shag," the tiny woman says, "you see this traveler's condition. He needs to battle. Soon."

"Of course, madam," Mr. Unsound says as though she had just requested tea. "Right away. We have our new assistant right here." He indicates you.

The other traveler looks just as confused and worried as you – but paler… hungrier… with sharper teeth. You take a step backward. He's a vampire!

Mr. Unsound hands you a large bowl, and Miss Marcia gives the vampire something.

"You'll have to battle quickly," she says. "There's only the week left in the village for you. Go on, now." Miss Marcia gives the vampire a little nudge into the kitchen. "Let's see who has the better recipe."

I think the battle will be a cook off. How does our vampire feel about blood pudding. Razz
