Okay basically guys the guidelines are this.

It's a turn-based ARG. You get one turn, per day (This week they're including today and tomorrow although I'm sure they meant Sat/Sun because I swear you could make moves Mon-Fri in the first episode?)

Anyhoo... Read everything they give you double carefully and then you basically make a move based on that.

So (and don't rely too much on my words here) tim7168 you could, for example, go and check out the cabinet on the right wall...

Again don't rely too much on what I've said. Just helping out the new guys Smile

--On a sidenote I also got a regret email about the village now being full; I'm assuming they screwed up lol because all the binary translated to was "The Governor regr2" Razz

I replied with.
Quote:
I assume the Govenor regrets to inform me there's no longer any space available? Hopefully I shall be put on a waiting list for an empty abode?

I shall also be pressing the words to see the time of transition.

How good it'll be to get back to the village, I have missed it so!

-Leyton Stone.

Me message decoded for any interested:

Quote:
Welcome to Transition Village! This is the abandoned Groundskeeper's House. You have a purpose here; try to figure out what it is. There are ghosts, so stay on guard. If you see other travelers along the way, be sure to say hello! Any changes you make to the town are permanent until someone else changes them, so please be considerate... and careful.

My response:

Quote:
Scratching my scruff and adjusting my fedora I look around my surroundings and blink several times just to make sure I'm not dreaming.

"Is it...Could it...Am I back in Transition Village? Aw hell, this looks just like the Groundkeeper's house I woke up in before. I really don't want to die again..."

Looking around the room, I shrug to myself, "Well, I know how this dance goes..."

Walking to my left, I approach the old cabinet to inspect it.

Looks like I'll be hanging around on the waiting list for a spell. I look forward to seeing what kind of adventures you all get in to. If it's anything like the first TV, then this will rock like no other.

Okay, I'll play, once I get a spot.

This game is too much like good old ADVENTURE, DUNGEON, and CHIMAERA for me to resist.

P.S. If you didn't understand the The Prisoner thing, the place in The Prisoner was called The Village. Lol. Laughing

Can anyone make a summmary of the previous Transition Village? I don't feel like reading all 25 pages of the old thread. Thanks!

Seems, as usual, I have set myself up for failure yet again...

TV's response to my turn:

Quote:
You open the cabinet, muttering about a dance you know, and swirls of dust fill the air in front of you. This time, however, the dust doesn't settle. In fact, it continues to swirl and comes closer and closer to your face until you are forced to cough.

As you watch its movement, you begin to notice a pattern. It is as if the dirt is rising and falling to a rhythm you can't hear. You hear a voice from within the cloud.

"You know how this dance goes?" It is impossible to tell whether the voice is male or female. It sounds mechanical – perhaps even angry. "Then show me. Tell me the exact dance steps required to perform a really spectacular show."

The dust swirls menacingly in front of your face, and the voice gets louder as you stumble backward. "TELL ME THE STEPS."

*Sigh*

Leyton, you got time to teach me that Sexy Back routine you never ended up using? I need to learn it by...um...tomorrow... Rolling Eyes

@E.Y.E - Read my post at the top of this page that's a brief explaination... I don't think this will 'continue' as such from the first.

The game itself is Funnel Productions' way of moving between their games, hence it being called 'Transition' Village. It's just a turn based game via email which is extremely fun.

@Robbie - Sorry dude, that routine is on my cell, on video lol. BUT I can't find the cord to upload it atm.

Well there is none per sae really, I'm assuming the story will be different this time around than it was last. But basically we all (those who got spots at least) magically appear in 'transition village' by way of one of the old villagers houses.

The Governor runs the entire village, he lives in a mansion up at the top end of the village *by accounts* Although no-one quite knows how much rule he has over the unruley ghosts who inhabit the village as there are some who are nasty... And others who're quite polite and helpful.

We have to, via using one turn a day (Except weekends), explore the village and pretty much as the emails say "try to figure out what it [your purpose] is."

Each participant has their own purpose which is only verifiable throughout the course of the journey... Hopefully this explains some of your query? I'd honestly suggest taking the time to read "all 25 pages of the old thread" lol.

Sorry I took my time to post this. I think something might be in store for me because of the way it was written. Maybe I am high on the list.

Quote:

Binary code
--
~ Transition Village II will accept and respond to one move per day, unless otherwise noted. Visitors in the village may move on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Visitors in the mansion may move on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. There is no activity on Sundays.

The Binary code translation is no different than what others have received

Quote:

The Governor regrets to inform you that all available rooms in his mansion are currently filled, as are the houses in his village. He will, however, alert you the moment a room opens.

Press the words to read the times of Transition.

That's the same message all of us who didn't get into a house or room yet received. Meaning we are all on a waiting list. As a new room or house opens up the next person in line will enter it. The line being determined by the order of the emails requesting a spot.

You turn to look at the closet in the back wall. It is a small area with only a thin sheet to cover it. You reach out for the sheet very slowly and push it aside. For a few seconds, it is too dark to see in. But then your eyes begin to adjust, and you jump backward in shock. Someone is in there!
"WHO ARE YOU?" an angry voice booms from between the old, moth-eaten clothes of a servant. You squint. It's the ghost of an old woman, and she is standing, hunched over, in the dark closet. "I am the laundress. Why should you deserve to share my room?" She looks you up and down, with wrinkled eyes. Then she crosses her arms and glares. "Give me some proof of your fashion sense, and perhaps I will give you something in return. But hurry. And make it good."

what a coincidence, that I have a T-Shirt shop in the internet, where I sell shirts, I designed by myself. I'll hand out some shirt to the old lady ^^

Ok, so I'm way late, but here is my response to the demand for dance steps. Not too interesting, Leyton let me down, but don't worry...I threw him under the bus... Laughing

Quote:
Looking around at the menacing swarm, I shuffle a few steps back...

"Well wait a second, that was colloquialism, you don't mean you actually want me to do a dance do you?"

Staring at the cloud, I realize the severity of my situation.

"Great, just great. Ok, you can do this, what did dad say the steps were...?"

Straightening up I reach out to my invisible date and take her in my arms. Humming off tune I step to the right with my right foot. Quickly I follow with my left foot, then step back with my right foot before sweeping my left foot back and to the left once again followed by my right foot now placed beside the left.

"Yeah, that's it! Ha, how 'bout that dad?!"

I repeat the box waltz two or three more times before stopping and looking up at the swarm.

"A buddy of mine offered to teach me a newer dance, something about my back being sexy, but he isn't in town so that's the best this old dog has...Take it or leave it."
