What was the name of a riddle game I played a few years ago?

Well, I feel a little silly signing up to ask for help in identifying a game after someone else recently did the exact same thing, but here we go... I'm trying to find the name of a game I played a few years back that was quite heavy with the Alice In Wonderland references (can't remember if it was actually based on the characters or not). I know, what ARG isn't full of Alice references, right? This one was more of a riddle game, however. It was set up somewhat like Not Pr0n in the sense that you had to go level by level. Everything was contained on the one site (aside from the odd link to Google) and you had to play in weekly intervals. When I played, the game was near completion, but I still had to wait to move on because that is simply how it was designed.

I wish I could get more specific, but my memory from this period of time is rather fuzzy. I do remember one of the earlier puzzles dealing with a vole, however. And part of the plotline involved tracking down a teacher/professor of some sort. It may have also incorporated inter-dimensional and/or time travel and I specifically remember one of the levels focusing on a small planetarium/observatory. At the end of the game, when you solved the last puzzle, you got to sign a little guestbook of sorts and you gained access to a small private forum.

Is this ringing a bell with anyone? I've tried searching through Google, this forum, and other ARG sites to no avail. I thought it might have been Alice Is Lost, but when I check archived pages from that, it doesn't look very familiar. But like Alice Is Lost, the game I'm thinking of did require a login. I don't know, maybe the game I'm thinking of is Alice Is Lost...I really haven't been able to confirm either way.

If anyone can help me out here, I would really appreciate it. And if you need more details, I can try racking my brain a bit more. I'm certain the site must be long-gone by now so I can't play it again, but it would be nice to know what it was called. Any time I hear "beast" or "murder mystery", I get drawn back into memories of hunting down Evan Chan's murderer, which leads to me reminiscing about other ARG-type games...and this is the only one that I have trouble remembering for some reason.

I don't think it could be "Alice Is Lost" because that never got out of prologue. Perhaps you remember Planetarium from many years ago -- it had a weasel not a vole.

btw, welcome to the unforums. feel free to stick around!

Yes, that's it! Thank you so much! I'm really surprised that the web site is still up. I don't know if I'll want to play it again anytime soon, but it was really bugging me that I couldn't remember the name.

I guess I just had Alice In Wonderland stuck in my mind because the girl in the story reminds me of her, but I realized that Alice Is Lost was definitely the wrong game when I did more research on my phone in bed. Kinda funny that neither game actually requires registration despite what I thought.

Not sure why "vole" stuck out to me. It does mention a vole on the weasel page and I'm still fairly certain one was included in one of the image puzzles...but it apparently was not featured prominently like I thought it was.

Anyway, thanks again. I'm rather tempted to re-enter the world of ARG games, so this site is definitely getting bookmarked.
