Tomas Survival Camp Photo

I cannot fathom how to decrypt this.

From the photo gallery at the top I have

LA K RO P T SS E

and from the photograph I have

Code:
                E
         K                        P
T  RO           LA               SS

I note that Wind Lane suggests this decrypts to
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
EKATS DROOL

but I cannot see this substitution. I am I missing something?

You're not going crazy or anything, you're just missing the same thing I did at first.

Notice that the symbols listed down the left side of the left page have a ">" going from them and that the letters on the right side of the right page have a "<" going from them. You can put the two columns side by side till the angles are like this: "><" and they can be nudged just a bit more into an X, creating crossed lines instead of the little angles. That should give you what you were missing.

Also, it's the head shots at the top of the two pages that gives you the order things should go in.

Thanks Wind Lane, now I have it. I think the Madrigals have a cunning plan to confuse by simplicity!!

Good luck with the Clue Hunt
