Check my most recent edit for a solve.

The transposed alphabet I currently have is...

A = ?
B = ?
C = ?
D = J
E = A
F = ?
G = K
H = R
I = T
J = I
K = ?
L = Y
M = ?
N = ?
O = U
P = O
Q = ?
R = H
S = F
T = ?
U = S
V = ?
W = ?
X = L
Y = ?
Z = E

Also, that would make PAGDI = O?KJT, so I have to assume that "pagdi" does not work with this particular alphabet...

Arrrrrgh!

I had just written up a whole post solving this and you beat me to it.

Hi all, I've been following along for about a week now, but haven't had anything to post yet and this was going to be my big entrance to the thread.

Ah well, I'm loving my trout, it's very fresh, only minutes old. Still following along.

D: I sorry! I just read up this afternoon and when I saw the new "hint" I decoded it pretty quickly.

Also, what is Jodie's email? insteadoteSPLATgmail.com?

So, as far as the other puzzles go:

Pagdi and I are not on good terms, but the phrase "Je NuOwJune ihcoming s", with a little cleaning up, is:

JuNe hOw June is coming

It's the same letters, just re-organized in a fashion that makes the most sense to me.

would think that going to Lowe's blog and posting up questions like "what's the keyword" or giving him the encrypted information we've found would be an incredibly bad idea.

The only reason why someone would put that on the blog is because in the source code of the page it says "you have to open the door. find the key, you just have to ask" (right at the bottom if you look).

While a bad idea, if the character asks you to do it, it's probably not such a horrible idea after all. Smile

Besides, it might tick him off a bit to know that he thought that there were only 3, now he has to deal with a whole bunch of people. Not only that, but they are asking all sorts of strange and unusual questions. He says that he doesn't know what we are talking about. Personally I find it somewhat humorous when you push those kinds of buttons on a person and just start blurting stuff out too them about things that you are not supposed to know about but do. Kind of wakes them up that they have dug themselves into a much larger hole then they believed they were previously in. Having to clean up a much larger mess, as it were.

But Lowe didn't ask. Whoever hacked his account did, obviously. And I'm not sure what you're trying to say in the rest of your post - do you mean that, by asking Lowe questions based on information we shouldn't have, perhaps he'll be helpful? Because, it seems to me, if someone started asking me a bunch of questions on things they shouldn't know even exist, I would shut down hard, give them no information, and try to figure out how they know what they know.

We could shut down just as easily as he could, providing him with no information in return for no information. If he doesn't want people to know things and more people are learning them as time goes on, then he is fighting a losing battle. There is a lot that he is not telling us. There is a lot that someone else is (or at least is trying to get us to know). If he wants to shut down then that is his choice. But it gets him nowhere.

Maybe he really doesn't know what we are talking about. Maybe he wants to know as badly as we do. Maybe he is trying to protect the 3rd person rather then harm them. If that is the case then there is still a lot of back story that would need to be told (for instance, the purpose for his trying to protect the 3rd person. Why so important? etc.).

Sometimes you need to rattle the cage to wake someone up. Sometimes that's the only way you're going to get a straight answer from someone.

And I don't mean you ask questions about things that we know. I would say that you would keep the two separate. Try to read what cards he is holding before you show your aces.

I'm still trying to get a handle on his personality. However, sometimes you need to confront someone with outlandish possibilities and then pull back depending on their reactions.

These are common interrogation techniques: Start nice like you are on their side, confront them with the worst case scenarios, then steer the conversation in the direction that you want it to go. Guilty people get very confrontational when you confront them with outlandish accusations, out of fear. The innocent will normally become more emotional. "But I love her. I would never do something like that." etc., etc.

There is a purpose behind "Good cop, bad cop".
