Alien Conspiracy in D.C.
Hey guys-

The Wii game The Conduit is coming out in June, and it looks like we have a bit of viral advertising going on. The website is www.seeing-is-deceiving.com

Since I don't feel like typing all that up again. Very Happy

I think the next step is solving the alien text, but I have no clue where to start. Since the Unforums have some of the WORLD'S best codebreakers, I figured I'd ask here.

 		There's 'XLII' right below the Washington Monument which is the roman number for 42.

 		Strange, I swear I tried that before. Perhaps it means the columns on the keyboard?

There's also some more alien text on the far right column on the White House. (That is the White House, right? Embarassed )

 		I think it's the Jefferson Memorial, but I don't know much about Washington.

...Which is probably pointing back to XLII.

 		As well as 'truth', 'lies' also does give you an audio message with a warning for some government impostors.

Also I found 'Investigate fertile crescent!' but it doesn't work as message.

Simple substitution cipher. The keyboard that flashes maps directly to the QWERTY layout. From there, once you figure out a couple words it all falls together pretty easily. The tough bit will be translating all the text that scrolls across the bottom.

"bug virus" gets a screenshot.

"obelisk" gets another screenshot.

"know nothing" gets another article.

"mdccclxxxv" (or 1885) gets another wallpaper.

"robert mills" another trailer (with code in it for "seeing is deceiving").
