It's definitely a barometer in the background, and I'd say that the semi-obscured word is "Winds"

Coming from a musical b/g, the cleff is probably treble, given the stuff below it.

Note, these are only first impressions and I haven't even had a chance to 'shop the image yet.

Has it been stegged anyone?

Perhaps the unjust who are thriving refers to MLO or James Avery?

And the barometer is indicating the winds of change?

IMHO it's too early to start drawing connections between Beth/Marcus/Phillip and the hackers.

I know I originally was of the mind that Beth might've been one of the hackers, given the most recent update was on her site but I've since been convinced otherwise.

Really now, we have two separate stories: the hackers tale (hey that sounds good) and Beth's story (not so interesting-sounding as "the hackers tale"... Wink ) and the only link between them is Metacortex/USH.

Since we got into her 'dex, Beth hasn't really given us much trouble. Some revelations yes, but not a lot of deep thought: most of that has come from the hackers, so while Beth seems to be the main character in the "Metacortex Conspiracy", all the big cards are being played by our h4x0r team.

At this piont, I'm of the belief that this picture will lead us (like the previous paintover picture) to another website, and from there we will find another transcript reveling a bit more info...

Oh and also, the filename is 00000011.jpg, or "3".

I'd like to see anyone make a fitting theory based on those filenames now Sad

Don't rule it out yet Wink

I'm not sure that that thing is a barometer. I actually have no idea what barometers are supposed to look like (in terms of markings), but goolge's barometer images suggest these markings:
-stormy
-rain
-change
-fair
-very dry

What else could that thing be?

I guess so far we have: autolycos, unjust, [the notes], and thenecodas for possible domain?

I'm open to being swayewd about the barometer thing... Wink

I've had no luck doing anything to that pic in photoshop, so I'm back to looking at the components of the picture: heres something to stretch everyone... what piece of music does that staff come from?

thenekodas.com clouds

i think some of the clouds forms letters - like a "M" or "N" top right gray cloud and a "O" or "U" and "R" top center white cloud and something like a face perhaps in lower right corner gray over white cloud or perhaps i'm just to tired. BTW can't you access the page or is it just the frontpage???

The sheet music makes me think of the song from littleboxes (too few notes to make out if they´re from the song - or anything else, I have tried playing them) - and the song seems to refer by its´s title to a (the?) picture - maybe the user name or password (or file name, but that seems more likely to be unjust) is Dina?

The letter in the glass looks like the Metacortex "M" logo to me.

Sorry, I missed the leap of faith that led to this one.

It would seem almost logical that the URL would be the newly discovered www.thenekodas.com, as it is strongly related to music... next step would be the subdirectory.

I would have thought Wongmo would have been a better bet, he has a music section AND weather references on his site.

Edit: And Wongmo's away on his little trip, so his site is ripe for picking.

Would hackers hide files on a virgin site?

Actually I know exactly what notes those are. Look below the staff and it says Dm7 (D minor 7). The notes D F and A (the G you see is a neighbor tone) are in the key of D minor. The notes in a Dm7 are DFAC.

Info that might not be relevant if you care to keep reading: D minor is the relative minor key of F Major. The notes in an "F" major triad are FAC. If you add the 7th you get what all the little kiddies learn in elementary music, spell face: FACE.

This is useless information but it makes me feel important so throw me a bone.

A new theory, coined by TremorX, is now that the thing in the background is a scale: the words seen on there would be "POUNDS" and "BY OUNCES".

About the site this could refer to: it could indeed well be Wongmo too...

Hmm, that works really well, Weighing Scales, Musical Scales - it has a certain symetry to it.

So lets weigh the opt... Embarassed Sorry.
