Hmm, that works really well, Weighing Scales, Musical Scales - it has a certain symetry to it.
Well, this is probably going to be a hell of a stretch, but Themis - the goddess of just ice - holds weighing scales in her hands.

Just for completeness, what is the context of the quote?
ie. at what time does the unjust man thrive?
Edit: Just got this from the message board.
Code:
"I understand the business, I hear it: to have an open ear, a quick eye, and a nimble hand, is necessary for a cut-purse; a good nose is requisite also, to smell out work for the other senses. I see this is the time that the unjust man doth thrive. What an exchange had this been without boot! What a boot is here with this exchange! Sure the gods do this year connive at us, and we may do any thing extempore. The prince himself is about a piece of iniquity, stealing away from his father with his clog at his heels: if I thought it were a piece of honesty to acquaint the king withal, I would not do't: I hold it the more knavery to conceal it; and therein am I constant to my profession."

And on that, what importance can we draw from the magnifying glass?
If it's another reference to the old "eye see" image, I'm gonna scream...

Inside the magnifying glass is the letter "M". It looks like the "M" monogram on the Metacortex website

Actually I know exactly what notes those are. Look below the staff and it says Dm7 (D minor 7). The notes D F and A (the G you see is a neighbor tone) are in the key of D minor. The notes in a Dm7 are DFAC.
Does the 3. above the Dm7 mean anything?
Sorry I know nothing about Music

Or a 'W' if it's written around the outside of the dial

The three doesn't really mean anything significant in a musical context: It refers to the contents of that box, and that they are to be played the third time the preceeding passage is repeated. It does mean there are two boxes like it labeled "1" and "2" off-screen though.
(note this is working from memory here! )

Marl - the .3 means triplet, indicating the time for the notes to be played...donīt know if it means anything...
If hte letter under the mag glass is M as in Metachortex this could simply mean "look closer at MC" - I guess thatīs what weīre already doing. There is speculation in other threads that the appearance of several employee IDs could make it possible to log in to MC user accounts...using SiO2, Dina, Autolycos...whatever...as psw??

This may be slightly OT but has anyone noticed that all the quotes for the clues have ten words?

Sorry, i miscounted and I also forgot what I was talking about. The things that have ten letters are the quotes of the employees on MetaDex.

it would seem to me that the image definitely has something to do with Scales.
Pounds by Ounces refers to a weight scale, and the notes refer to a musical scale. How that ties in with the phrase or the magnifying glass is beyond me.

I retract my previous barometer statement.
Although, I stand by my analysis of the 3: if it were a triplet, there would be three notes below it: instead it is above the key, which implies a coda.
To my eyes, anyway. Hey, I've been proven wrong once today already...
