Alex needs batteries. J goes to get them. SOMEHOW ALEX RUNS THROUGH THE FOREST WITHOUT BEING SEEN, WAITS IN HIDING FOR ALEX TO ARRIVES, FILMS HIM, THEN RUNS AWAY AGAIN, ENDING UP DEEPER INTO THE FOREST THEN HE PREVIOUSLY WAS, ALL WITHOUT J BEING THE WISER?

It isn't plausible. Sorry.

We have no idea what the layout of the forest is. We don't know if the house where he saw Mr. Thin was way deep or just off to the side a little. We also don't know where they start--I kinda got the impression that they were somewhat close to the entrance to the forest at the time of splitting up, which may or may not have been the case. Point is: without knowing the layout of the forest in which they were, we can't say how plausible/implausible Alex having filmed Exit is. One thing that cannot be discounted is the fact that something was excised from Entry 13. It's a lot more likely that there was only ever one filmatographer than there being two.

That said, it's also possible that totheark is actually Brian, as Alex and Brian seem to have been closer than we thought.

Unrelated query: Why have you not made a profile, TNC?

Pardon my impudence, Heir Dav, but I do have a profile, I'm just far too lazy to use it.

Entry 13, anyways. Regardless of the layout, are you suggesting that there is a series of tubes and mazes and secret passageways in the forest to allow Alex to, still, get somewhere and back without J noticing it?

No matter how you slice it, even if the car was RIGHT behind them, there's no way Alex would get to the car before J, without J noticing, and then back to the deeper bit of the woods.

I can draw you a diagram. In fact, I already did. Here you are:

Now, assuming that they are a similar distance away from the vehicle, and Alex has headed into the woods a few feet, as indicated by the video, and J is walking, Alex would need to circle around, get to the car before Alex, and lie in wait until J runs off, and from there, sprint back into the woods.

Not to mention, this Alex doesn't seem to be anxious or irritable, as he was in previous Entries; This leads one to believe that Alex was NOT spying on.... Shit, what's the word...

Holy crap, I can't remember the word. Brain fart.

Point is, this isn't crazy-freaked out Alex who shuns his friends and acts like a total dick, this is Alex and his friend J going to scout locations. He has no reason to be spying on J.

Another thing I should bring to light, even if totheark posted this, it doesn't mean totheark filmed it. Just sayin'.

Hi. I'm new to ARG's in general, and I've been following this one on Youtube for awhile now, and I found this forum, so I decided to join so I can discus MH too.

TNC, I think the word you are looking for is suspicious. Alex has no reason to be suspicious of J, so he wouldn't be recording him anyway. It's most likely a third party, I'm not sure who that may be at this point, but I'm sure we will eventually find out.

While I agree that Alex wasn't paranoid yet to the degree that he'd be taping J, I do think it's possible he could have. Exit is shot from a higher level, looking down toward J. Imagine, just to be devil's advocate, that they are wandering around among the trees, following a path, and the car is just on the other side of the a large thicket of trees and bushes. It's too thick to go through, so J has to go back, following the path the whole way back to the parking area. If that were the case, if Alex had a ladder or something else to stand on and see over the thicket, he'd be able to watch J once he got to the parking area.

When I saw Exit, my first thought was that someone was standing on some bleachers looking down at the car, probably because of this shot in Entry 13:

I don't know if those would be high enough, but those are what came to mind when I imagined where totheark would have shot Exit.

Actually, it was paranoid I was thinking of, but thanks you.

And, that's actually something conclusive. Finally. Exit IS shot from high up, and that is, definitely, not ground-level. Although it doesn't explain the tree directly in front of it, nor the fact that when the filmographer scurries away, he does so standing amidst leaves and brush.

Sorry.

What about the tree needs explanation? It is a perennial woody plant. I believe it was once written "I think that I shall never see/An ARG lovely as a tree."

Also, let me clarify that I don't necessarily think Exit was shot from atop those bleachers, I'm just saying the image of those bleachers was kind of subconsciously in my head when I watched Exit so I associated the high angle with the idea of someone climbing to the top of those and shooting off the back, toward the parking area.

As for the scurrying, the camera moves so quickly it's hard to tell what happened. He could have jumped down from whatever he was standing on and landed in those leaves and brush.

sooo... i believe this is news.

doesn't really do much to explain anything, but it appears someone has found the cement building in Entry #13

as well as the parking lot from totheark's Exit

i'm curious what the significance of "8:10" is, though...

I went back and re-read all the Trailhead around the posting of Entry 13 and haven't been able to find any discussion of this:

Any suggestions of what it is? It seems pretty obvious they made sure to get a clear shot of it. We know it's near a building and those bleachers I posted above, but I can't think of any sport that would have a 3'8" concrete marker on the field.

I didn't think 3'8" was significant, but thought it might give us an idea of where the scene took place (my theory was "behind the red climbing wall") and thought maybe the 3'8" might have something to do with fire department training.

Pretty sure that it's supposed to be an indicator of a filled in pool.

You are making some assumptions though, TNC. If the place J and Alex were supposed to meet was somewhere other than the place where entry 13 is filmed, he could easily have went there, filmed 13, and then proceeded to meet J, making up some excuse as to why he was late ("Went the wrong way etc.). As for being undetected in woods trust me, it really isn't hard at all, so long as there's a little bit of wind.

Not that I'm really saying it is Alex, just that I don't think it can really be ruled out just yet.

Your avatar is seriously way too big. It breaks the entire page.

That really is news. Excellent find. At the end it shows us the buildings that are in the background in Exit. From the angle it looks like that pretty much means Exit is filmed from somewhere around the grounds of this concrete thing.
