This might be off topic but, if I were to burn the woods around me, I live in the middle of nowhere surrounded by hundreds of miles of forests, would I then stop slender man? I mean, he loves trees and darkness right? I have just killed the two things that he likes. I think I win.

I'm entertaining the idea that this is a little too realistic for my own tastes. I've done my fair share of squatting, but like, that is... That's a little weird. When you squat, you sleep upstairs and go out at night. Simple as that. In a place surrounded by woods, you sleep wherever.

You don't make maniacal drawings and paste them on the walls. You don't sleep in the closest under the stairs.

Think about this [don't take it as fact, just picture it]: ToTheArk is Brian. Brian leaves incredible clues and mysteries all at once via YouTube.

He sees Tim in an interview. Tim gives up the fact that Brian lives close by. J wants to find Brian.

Brian doesn't want to be found, so he quickly abandons his "home," but not before coughing up a lot of blood himself. He tears the place apart, trying to obtain whatever he may have had hidden around, grabs his computer and equipment [maybe surveillance equipment? Cameras, wires, evidence of him being totheark] and skedaddles.

Hmm? HMM?

I like that idea. However, it makes more sense to me if it was Alex in place of Brian in that scenrio or maybe...

both Alex and Brian were residing in that house and flew out of there before J found the house.

Just read every single post. Holy cow. I'll be lurking for a bit before I formulate any theories.

I've been lurking here through the duration of the marblehornets entries. I was out of town recently, so I missed a bunch of stuff on here, and I'm way too lazy to go back and read it all. If someone could explain to me what all this TTA stuff is, I would be extremely grateful.

Who is the anonymous tipster? J didn't find Brian's place by looking him up on Google Maps or searching their college alumni site or any other means of his own research, someone reached out to him.

That means someone who's aware of J's investigation. totheark and Tim are the only people we've been introduced to who are aware of J's investigation and Tim has already said he doesn't know where Brian is.

This gives us five possibilities (in order of likelihood by my humble estimation):
1. totheark tipped off J. However, given that totheark has been peppering clues into his video entries, it seems out of character for him to resort to picking up a phone or dropping an email to say, "Go to this address."
2. The tipster is one of "us," by which I mean for the purposes of the story someone watching the YouTube videos saw Entry 15 and sent J a message saying, "I know that Brian guy. He lives down the road in a house that looks abandoned." This person will never be referenced again and is really just a plot device to make Entry 16 happen.
3. Tim did know where Brian was and didn't want to tell J in the interview. Later he called J and used a fake voice or had a friend call and say where to find Brian.
4. A new character is now involved. This could be someone from the crew or someone completely new. Either way, I think this is the weakest possibility, introducing someone new who's getting in touch with J rather than the other way around.
5. Slender Man wanted J to come to the house and hypnotized him into believing his decision to go to the house was made courtesy of an anonymous tip.

Also, is it significant that the tipster told him "where Brian might be located"? He wasn't told "where Brian lives" or "where Brian's house is." This lends itself to the idea that Brian is squatting here and hiding out for a while and that this isn't his home. If that's the case, the person most likely to know where he is would be someone who's been following/monitoring him.

Theories 3 and 4 seem the most plausible to me. But you make a good point, Jake. Something important is being withheld that has to do with this "anonymous tipster" and how he knew what he knew.

Wow, I really want to see what TTA's response will be.

She was dating him in the MH movie, I don't think she was IRL.

the strange noise

It might not even be that important but...

Regarding that strange noise in Entry 16 at the 3:50 mark, a similar noise is heard in the first entry of Dav Flamerock's videos when he is revealing the contents of Matt Selby's journal.
Another thing is that Dav also seems to be inflicted with a cold similar to J, as Dav is coughing in the duration of the videos.

Don't know if this is even important, but I thought I'd bring it up

Well, just fire him a PM and ask him. He posts here rather frequently.

Also, regarding the Chzo Mythos connection: I think that's a stretch. Slender Man's "Uncanny Valley" aspect is not unique to him, and such imagery has been applied before, everywhere from Silent Hill to Nightmare on Elm Street.

While the similarity is intriguing, I think the odds of this connecting in anyway to Yahtzee's game series are, well, slender. Honestly, I think some of you guys are over thinking this a wee bit too much.

Or, for whatever reason, J already knew where Brian could be located and he's lying to us. I don't really like the whole "J cannot be trusted" thing, but I thought I'd mention it.

Yeah, while J does seem sick ((probably from Slendy)) I think he's a pretty reliable narrator. I think it was jut some anonymous tip.

also "anonymous tipster" could just mean that j is keeping his identity secret for their sake. doesn't have to mean that j didn't know who it was.

I agree completely; While I don't think it's SUPPOSED to be the Prince of Chzo, I just figure it draws from the idea of him. More like, we can use existing similarities to predict what may or may not occur in the future.

My, wouldn't it be great if they could get some really good special effects and have Slender Man grow vertically out of a tree and attack J? God Damn, that would be fantastic.

I know it's been shown before but I can't remember where and I can't remember what was decided of it, if anything, but in Entry #13 it really looks like SM's limbs are doing something a normal person's shouldn't. Special effects? Quality errors? Real?

These are frame-by-frame screenshots of SM appearing at the end of 13, in order of appearance.

Description   Second frame. His head is messed up, but I'm sure that's just due to a quality error. Point of this frame, is his leg is still weird like in the first frame.

Description   Third frame. His legs are suddenly completely fine, but look at his left arm (our right). It seems to me that it's too long, and like, in a helix-type shape.
