Woah, nice. It was fitting pretty well until it cut out again.

I gotta tell you that even though I did the placing, I don't think it "fits" it quite well.

-At the beginning of the sound we can hear like the wind is crashing up to the microphone. This kind of noise is the noise made either when strong wind is blowing or when the holder of the camera is running. Some crushing (probably leaves or something of the sort) can be heard at the beginning.

-There's a point where the "wind blowing" sound stops. It takes like three or four seconds and then the "whisper" sound appears.

-Then again, the wind crashing sounds, until it stops.

In Entry NO. 4 Alex starts off WALKING, not running, which does not fit well with the sound of wind crashing. Also, the whole park has DIRT instead of leaves, which would not fit the sounds we hear.

Also when Eric starts RUNNING towards a big metal can (probably a dumpster or a trash bin of some sorts) the sound there is not of running but rather, is when the sound kinds of stops.

The "whisper" thing does fit in, when the silhouette appears, and the consequently wind crushing sound also fits the whole quick movement of the camera.

----

From what I can gather in the sound of the "Operator" video, the guy holding the microphone (assuming is not from the camera) was running heavily over some sort of leaves, then he stops for a moment, the whisper is recorded and the running starts again. Probably the recorder did hear the whisper and starts running after it.

Two things that strucked me while watching the clips

- After re-watching Entry No. 4 I'm suspecting there are TWO beings following Alex: one is a bald, white headed man (seen here, at Entry No. 7 when filming in the car) and the other one is "Slender man" the faceless suited tall creature we can see at Entry No. 1, Entry No. 6 and Entry No. 10.

My only source of that is that the silhouette that runs around in Entry No. 4 is not tall enough to be the silhouette that "chases" him at Entry No. 10. In Entry No. 4, the silhouette kinds of has the same height of a human being and the same can be said of the silhouette at Entry No. 7, in the distance.

I'm going to do a much more thorough analysis of this one comparing screen caps.

- I'm beginning to believe that Alex cannot see the creatures that follow him. Based on Entry No. 10, My theory is that he was recording because he cannot see them with the bare eyes, but with the camera lenses. I mean, who goes around filming when being chased?

In Entry No. 10, Alex starts of running up til 0:32 when he stops to "see" what's in front of him. Then he kinds of turns around (at 0:43), until at 0:50 he sees something. He places first the light over the "creature's face", -it takes two seconds to actually realize that there is something-, then he starts off running, at 0:55 there's a visual tearing, and at 1:01 he jumps a fence and then turns the camera over to watch what's around him (1:10), then he watches the lenses of the camera at 1:20 (probably thinking it's damaged or something) and after that, he starts filming again, only to find a tall creature at 1:27 and probably starts running off again.

My theory begins at 1:10. He is filming, but he turns the camera over to see if the lenses are damaged, but thinking logically, just by watching the display on the camera (assuming Alex camera has it) one can see if it's damaged. We can clearly see that Alex camera is undamaged after the chase, then why he turns it over?

He turns it over after he has filmed his surroundings, he even moves to the left to film more but there's nothing to be filmed. I'm thinking that Alex at that point, was watching in the display that there was nothing chasing him he turned over to see if the camera was ok, maybe it was hit and now he cannot "see" what was chasing him, but the camera is ok after a quick glance (two seconds or so).

Also, why it took him that much at 0:50 to confirm visual contact with something creepy? A normal person, even on the dark, after watching something that creepy would just run away. Maybe it took that much time because he was watching at the display of the camera and not with his bare eyes.

Besides, this might be aided by the fact that Alex wanted to be filmed always and he flips out when he finds out his buddy (at Entry No. 9) forgot to change the tape. Of course he would be angry if the cameras are the only way to watch something that is following him.

i don't think he is being chased by two people; am i wrong but did someone say that the slender man can change his shape from his normal self to what it was in entry ten when he was taller than the trees

1]what nextgenadult said, and just a technical note, when filming live action stuff, it'd be pretty hard to get a guy more then 7foot tall

though i thought he looked about the same height both times he shows up in 10
2] i theorised about him having to use the camera to see him a while ago, but i recently realised, that either S is doing it on purpose, since alex saw him in one of the clips[when he went out driving]
or maybe it was two different people
3]he might have not quite seem him at 0:48, the torch does flash past him then double back a bit, or, he might have just gone rabbit in the headlights for a second

either way, nothing proven, though we could be right

and i really see no proof of 2 seperate people chasing alex

Interesting idea, about Slender Man only being visible via the camera. It certainly holds ground, though I'm not yet convinced that he doesn't simply want to have a video on himself at all times in case something happens to him (after all, if he was using it as a lens, why would he be setting it to point to himself, as it does in previous entries?)

As for the poor synch--you seem to be correct. However, someone in the comments of Operator pointed out that it fits better with the beginning of Entry #10. Having watched it, such a thing is true--though the audio is only part of the mute #10. Likely, the audio has been clipped because "totheark" had nothing more to say.

Hi, new player, call me LG. Wink

I popped Hornet an email, just asking if he was being followed by the SM, I'll post if I get a reply.

One question I have is: I keep hearing everyone reffering to "J", Who is that?

J would be our friend Marble Hornets--the guy behind the twitter and youtube accounts. We know little of his identity, other than his relationship to Alex.

I placed the sound at Entry No. 10, but doesn't completely fit... maybe it is a part, not the first half, not the second half, just a part of it. Lemme see if I can do the same that I did with Entry No. 1.

And I ask of you guys, any of you can provide the "Regards" sound so I can place it over Entry No. 1 and see if it fits??

Hey guys! I placed the sound of "Regards" video (thanks DavFlamerock) to the Entry No. 1

At first it didn't fit quite well. Three or two seconds were with no sound. However, I decided to try on and place the sound at when the visual tearing happened and it kind of fit.

Then I realized that there was something wrong with the video. Like a continuity of some sort, like Alex goes running to the lamp and then stops and then a black screen appears and then he goes on to watch Slenderman at the window.

So i decided to place the sound just when the "black screen" appeared, just after when we see Alex running up to the lamp. And it fitted kind of well.

By the way, when hearing the sound it sorts of reminded me of Silent Hill music. This makes me think that probably the "Slenderman" makes some sort of distortion to the audio, -like we all said before-, yet I'm not quite certain of it.

Watch it and tell me whaddya think about it.

Regards is really tough to fit because it doesn't really have any distinguishing features, but it looks like it fits! Good job!

EDIT: Hahahaha it looks like someone informed J of what we were thinking. Was it anyone here?

MarbleHornets Agreeing with others. The video response "operator" sounds like some of the missing audio. Maybe from entry 10?

Hmm? Interesting...

an aquaintance had an idea. If the SM IS messing with electronic equipment, maybe he has the capability to alter the electricity in the brain, which could explain maybe not being able to see him, or J getting sick.

'bout how many videos are there? that might be able to help.

Also, have *you* seen the slender man from the videos lately, I sure hope not.

Thank you for your concern. I am alright.

I have not seen anything resembling the figure that I've been seeing at times in the tapes, no. I will keep everyone posted.

looks like J isn't in too much trouble, yet...
