Watching this several times over with perceptivefriend, we realized we think we can see something happening. We'd like to ask you guys:

It looks like when Mask goes down, s/he is being stood over by someone wearing something red. The Red disappears into the room behind Mask--and J doesn't notice. He keeps the light shining on Mask's face, but you see about a frame of the Red slipping into the room. When we hear the grunt of effort and J is tackled, Mask is still lying on the floor. Was it Red?

Deep grunt = Red
Girly gasp = Mask

... eh?

Entry 18 tidbits:

Alright so while themaskedguy was lying on the ground J shined a light on the side of his face, no muttonchops, gonna say this wasn't Tim.

The only light we have is from that flashlight, and with that as the only light source everything appears darker, i.e. themaskedguy's hair. So just because it doesn't seem to be sandy blond hair doesn't mean it isn't.

At some points it looks like themaskedguy has a hood on, especially before he attacks, so that might have added to the confusion.

Okay...uh right I like the idea that themaskedguy was rushing forth in a defensive manner. J was walking towards themaskedguy passing an open door to a dark room, anything or anyone could have been in that room.

Also it seems that J was pushed back and away from that door...and that's when the sound on the camera goes wonky. Which is usually attributed to the presence of Slenderman. Also the front door might have been opening behind J and themaskedguy rushed to close the door.

Did anyone notice that the sliding glass door was off it's hinges? That's extremely peculiar.

I'm not sure but when J trips and starts coughing while trying to escape the house I think themaskedguy yelled "Don't". Like don't go outside, and since as soon as J hit those blinds the sound majorly fucked up, I'm thinking Slenderman was on the other side.

New here... Some ideas.

Hmmmm....after watching it over I think it's entire possible that there was only one attacker (masked man, who I have the urge to call Epic Fail Guy) and J in the house. I can see where J might be "dragged away", towards the end of the scene, but he may just be dragging himself. You know, pushing with his feet and with an arm. Like what people do in bad horror films.

Although I really like the idea of two attackers, or Epic Fail Guy trying to stop another attacker. Mostly, in my mind, this is based on how E-F-G reacts when J first sees him. He sits still for a good few seconds, until something sets him off. It's certainly not J, since J already shined a light on him and called out to him "calling him Alex" prior to that. And it can't be slow reflexes, since that dash to J is inhumanly good.

Also, it does look as if he's trying to dash through J, not on him. It may be my imagination, but it seems like someone is still hitting Epic Fail Guy on the floor after J rises with the camera, immediately after J's first tackle.

And, I do like the idea of E-F-G being controlled although I can't think of anything to back it in my mind. I'm more on to believe that he was trying to attack another in the house, as others have said, instead of trying to harm J. Because, after all, he could have attacked J very easily and much better than he did. J had is back turned to his original position for long enough time to land a good sneak attack on him.

I still can't get how he just sat there for so long out of my mind. That's the biggest thing for me. Oh, and there was most certainly a "No!" from someone.

And, this has got me thinking now, (although I'm sure this has all been said earlier) what if E-F-G is trying to harm J, but the third party isn't? I almost want to think that E-F-G is somehow connected to Slender Man, but the third party is more of his saving grace (perhaps ToTheArk?).

In the end, we don't know for sure how many people were actually there, who anyone (but J) is, and what happened during that blackout. But we'll get to the bottom of it soon enough.

Okay so I definitely see something right at 2:09 moving behind Mask (and by definitely I mean probably). And then if you look it goes:

GRUNT
(SHAKY CAM, as J is presumably lunged at--why would he just suddenly dart away?)
VERY clear shot of Mask lying motionless on ground
Struggling, grunting, J is pushed/drags/runs down hallway
Mask starts to stand up

I'm not 100% here, but it really seems to me like someone else was involved here.

I'm pretty convinced that Masky is a woman.... If you stop it at 2:24, you see the jawline of Masky, and it looks very feminine.... You can also see a hood and a lack of sideburns at 2:24.

Okay, first; the door was locked again (J unlocked it when he left last time), and he went around outside the house to find the sliding door removed and set aside. Nobody opens the door for him.

Secon, EFG (shortest name thus far =P) yells "NO!" when J tries to remove the mask, and you can see him holding the mask on his face.

MrHawthorne, I really like your idea about Slender Man being involved in this. What if that was him entering the house? That lends the question, who got J at the end of the tape...E-F-G, the possible "other attacker", or perhaps Slender Man?

And the "No" was certainly a male voice. So, if E-F-G was a gal, then another person would have said it. I don't think it sounded like J, so that rules him out.


Edit: I forgot to say that although Slendy nabbing J at the end sounds really creepy, it's not what I'd call probable. Because if all Slendy would do to him is steal a knife and a Jedi Mind Trick, then he's not so scary after all.
