and when J pans the camera back over that area at around 1:07, it almost looks like whatever that thing is is gone.

 		Well if I'm going on a psychological basis, the hooded figure could be in that pic. A lot of people with psychological problems will have a little comfort thing such as rocking or singing to themselves. Maybe Masky was hiding away and rocking or something?

There's distortions to the videos including:
Visual Tearing
Visual Bleeding
Visual Color Change

(A list of of which videos have this distortion and what was happening during them might be helpful, we could probably compile that from what's on the wiki)

Alex's mood has changed in multiple videos. Sometimes he's balanced, other times irritable, other times extremely paranoid. He once had a clip of him with blood running down his face but what caused this is unknown. That was the first sign of a physical attack.

J has had more physical ailments. He's currently sick but its undetectable by a doctor. In Entry 17 he was cold. At one point in Entry 5 he coughed (but that doesn't mean he was sick then). He's lost chunks of his memory on multiple occasions.

More things we know: (mostly about TTA and EFG)
-The entity known as ToTheArk has footage of J during the original filming of Marble Hornets.
-The entity known as ToTheArk has shown skill in editing and modifying video, then posting it on YouTube as a message. The entity has also shown knowledge of puzzles and cryptic ideas.
-The entity known as ToTheArk began replying to J's videos from Entry #9 and is currently still doing so.
-The entity known as ToTheArk left a cryptic message to J, through video response (and using a clip from a television show) requesting that he return to the house.
-"ToTheArk" has answered limited questions to several questions in the past.
-When asked if J could be trusted, ToTheArk replied with "human, therefore no".

-The being now dubbed "Epic-Fail-Guy" by us (EFG for short) devised a trap to get catch J off guard, within the house.
-The being now dubbed EFG then used physical and mortal (until proven otherwise) force against J for unknown reasons.
-During the conflict, EFG had a sudden seizure or shaking fit. The cause of this is unknown.
-During Entry 18 (and only known appearance of EFG), the said EFG wore a mask thought to resemble Slender Man's features to hide his own face.

I'm loving the connection to Doctor Who, and the two do seem to be similar. Obviously not connected, though.

And, not to sound stupid, but Epic-Fail-Guy was all me. Very Happy

Masky kind of reminds me of a Jabbawokee Reject, but I digress.

Something about him struck me as...benign. My friend made a point to tell me the way he stared down J while he was on the couch was a shot at intimidation, but, i'm not so sure. It's true, J's return to the house was definatly a set up, but something just doesn't sit right with me.

I definatly do not think he is TTA. Really? That doesn't click at all. TTA doesn't strike me as someone who would seizure in the middle of an attack. That's like SlenderMen having narcolepsy or a bum leg. TTA wouldn't have something so phsyical. Also, TTA is having WAY too much fun toying with J. He wouldn't outright rugby tackle him. Personally, I think TTA is something supernatural, like SM.

I think Alex being Masky is stronger. It would make sense. Alex started to get sickly after all the viewing of the tapes. It's not a far stretch to imagine he would now suffer from seizures. Maskys moves to me seemed desperate rather then murderous, which i think would make sense if he WAS alex.

Am I way off base?

This has been partially answered, I think.

From the Introduction:

I don't think you're that far off. I'm personally leaning toward TTA being Alex too. I know the theory isn't perfect, but then again none of them are. We can only wait and see.

Actually, there is. J himself said that the last time he saw Alex, he was extremely pale and had lost a considerable amount of weight.

I agree, it sounds like a computer. When I had a computer with an old hard drive, it made the same sound.

I also heard those clicks again. Not sure if that's significant though.

 		THanks for mentioning the Perception filter I had that in the back of my mind for days but damned if I couldnt recall its name, but yes SM's ability is almost dead on for that, and im glad you guys are compiling the facts now , speculation is boring now, TTA needs to reply now pls ^_^
