The anonymous tip was for where to find Brian. It came after Entry #15 where Tim couldn't remember where Brian was and Advocate (where TTA put a count-down clock over Brian's face).

And the fact that the address was Alex's old house didn't seem significant enough to him? He confirmed that Entry 1 was Alex's house, yet he didn't say that the house he went to was Alex's....why? Because they aren't the same IG and maybe not even OOG.

He wasn't looking for Alex in the house. He was looking for Brian.
The tip said that he could find Brian there.

One could assume that if it was Alex's house, that would be why J shouted Alex's name first.

But, on the other hand if it was Alex's house (or if J knew who's house it was), why wouldn't he say "alex's house"? instead of just "the house"?

I don't have a dog in this fight, really, but I think the argument is that it being Alex's house is why J calls out Alex's name before Brian's in Entry #16, and why he assumes Masky is Alex in Entry #18. I don't see why his anonymous tip couldn't have been "Hey, you can find Brian in Alex's old house" as opposed to an address. That doesn't mean they couldn't be different houses IG or OOG, only that I don't think there's concrete evidence they're not the same house either.

Seriously though, it doesn't make sense that J would need a tip to find Alex's house, especially considering that A) he knew Alex well and B) when he started looking for Alex it would have been the first place he would check.

I'm still on the fence about the same house issue however he went to that house looking for Brian not Alex. Perhaps the tip he got was "Brian is at Alex's old house." He wouldn't go check Alex's old house since he seemingly moved away 3 years ago, but if someone says "Alex's good buddy Brian is squatting in Alex's old house." You may be inclined to yell out Alex before Brian as per his actions in Entry 16.

I foresaw this argument, and trust me, sir, I did my research.

There is no video evidence to support your statement. A porch is not filmed, because J does not film the area surrounding the door. Neither is the upper part of the door ever filmed. There is no photographic proof that this is a different house.

I await hard, cold evidence.

There is logical proof though;

Besides, you haven't really shown any evidence that they are the same house. Alex looks out his first story window at Slender Man (seriously look at the angle, SM does NOT look up), whereas we don't see a front door in the second house.

Sorry dude, you're not making sense.

Not unnaturally tall. Besides, the pole he is standing next to is taller then he is. He is clearly only turning his head on the horizontal axis. There's no evidence to suggest that Alex was looking out anything other than his first story window. Now a case could be made that he is not looking out his front windows, but the two houses are clearly different. Alex's front door has two windows on either side of it, while the other house has no windows in the front and stairs right next to the front door.

And again, if it was Alex's house, then J would have mentioned it. After all, he's been very forth coming with information so far (like saying that he still had his knife with him after he turned off the camera, so J would have mentioned that rather crucial detail.

Epic fail.

In entry #1, there is most clearly a front porch with tall white poles outside of it. In entry #16, he looks up at the house around the 1:00 mark. There is clearly no overhang or anywhere else where said poles could be coming down from. Given the position of the poles in entry #1, there would have to be some kind of overhang outside the door that should be clearly visible in entry #16 if it was the same house.

Entries 1, 3, 6, 8, 11, 14, 16, 17, and 18 are all shot in the same house.

Trust me on this one, you can see similar factors in all of them.

As said before, entries 1/6 have windows beside the front door and have those semicircle kind of windows above it I think..
11 and 16/18 aren't the same house since the layout of the floor below the bedroom in both of them is different, and the room that would include the trash cans in 16 in fact is kind of a small studio in 11.
3 and 8 have wooden-patterned walls which don't fit with entries 11/14 or 16/18, but I think they might with entries 1/6.

So you would have 3 different houses.

House 1: Entries #1,3,6,8
House 2:Entries #11,14
House 3:Entries #16, 18

There are parts of house 2 we didn't see and it was way too dark, so hosue 2 and house 1 may be the same one.
And Entry #17 could belong to any of them, since all houses contain windows on the second floor (in entry 16 the window he sees is in fact the one from the room behind the locked door blocked by the red chest, unless that door helds a hallway with more rooms).

Way to be unnecessarily convoluted. You forget that these guys are college students. I don't think it would be either viable or convenient to use three to four houses, and trash two of then quite thoroughly.

No, I think that we have far too little evidence either way to decide on the house thing. They may very well be using the same house because it's the one they have the most access to, and the one whose owners don't mind it being turned into a complete fucking mess for a while. Alternately, it could be Alex's house in-game, supported by the fact that J called out "Alex" when he entered, or countered by the fact that J seems like the sort who would have made mention that it was Alex's house somewhere.

But really, for those who think it's a completely different house, he was probably going around to different sides of the house. Side and back doors for two videos, and front door for the shot with the porch.

Not in this series. He is a very tall character, but not so much that he can look into a second-floor window.

It could be that it's the same house but in the three years between Alex's videos and J's videos the house underwent some modifications.

I highly doubt that the house underwent renovations. Reason being because in the three years after Alex "moved away", no one had bought the house. If someone had, then there would be people there and J would have never gained access that easily.

If this whole "is it Alex's house?" thing is getting people so annoyed, why doesn't someone just message J via Youtube?

"Hey J, was that creepy house you went to Alex's old house?"

Or maybe

"Hey J, what exactly did the anonymous tip say?"

...Actually, I'm interested in that tip. Did it come through the internet, or regular mail or something? Was it all cryptic like TTA's messages, or was it all proper punctuation and whatnot?

Yes. Let's ask him for the answer.

Anyways, just had my first Slender Man dream.

I was standing outside a big white mansion thing, and I looked into my bedroom on the third floor. I saw this:

Oh wow. Imagine if the end game was trying to stop Slender Man, and you had to do it by getting his mother. I would laugh, cry and rage at the same time. Also, Slender Mum sounds awesome.
