I watched The Departed last night, and I am now totally convinced everyone involved in this ARG is going to die horribly. The good, the bad, everyone. By Mark Wahlberg.

But seriously, does anyone else get the vibe that the story will end at worst ambiguously, and at best optimistically? None of the characters seem to have died, only gone crazy. SM himself hasn't done anything malicious so far, or at least nothing proven, beyond stalk. Masky is the same deal, but he seems to love toying with J. Unless we're in for some major mood whiplash soon (unlikely considering the latest TTA response being rather climactic), I think everyone will end up alive, just worse for wear.

So, Just got home from work and it appears we're all just waiting. Realized something at work that I never remember reading in the trailhead at all. It may have been brought up, and seems only minorly relevent anymore but I thought I'd share.

The distortion caused by slenderman doesn't show up while recording the shot. In entry 12, they were recording official Marble Hornets footage. Any camera man, recording would immediately stop Alex and whoever was walking with him if the distortion was happening while recording. It would be pointless to keep on. This almost seems to me that the Slenderman distortion is being editted in by a third party, presumably Alex. Especially that Return didn't have the same type of distortion, may be going out on a limb there but its also generally accepted that Masky was there. And he -is- known to cause distortion in Jay's tapes. Which we assume have not been editted to add distortion.

Next little thing I thought up, lol. Just to argue against anyone who believes that Alex is Totheark. I find this impossible due to the fact that when Jay and Alex were looking for locations (I forget the entry #and I'm tired >_>) There was the Slendy symbol on the ground. Unless Alex placed it there himself for himself to tape, which would be dumb, then someone had contact with slendy before and was attempting to warn Alex/Jay. This, I assume was TTA who was at that point filming Jay at the car. This leaves almost no chance that Alex is TTA imo.

Again, sorry if any of this has been posted before. I've read all the trailhead and don't remember it. Pretty sure it hasn't been.

Hnn, I'm more in the camp that for whatever reason, the distortions were only obvious on the finished tapes. No particular reason, it just seems more likely to me.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat just waiting for an update. My mind wanders a lot at night, lol. Anyway, yeah I think the visual distortion would be enough to notice, it gets pretty dark and whatnot. But would definitely notice it if they had headphones on, I agree. lol. Randomly remembering these things makes me want to go back and re-watch every one of the videos. See if I can connect anything else.

I kind of assumed that the distortion didn't show up when recording, but on the tapes. You know, like those photographs of ghosts where the ghost wasn't there until the film was developed?

Also remember that some of the distortions in SM's presence has been physically impossible. Like the frame jumping up a foot in entry 17.

Why are people so worried about an end-game already? There is nothing that is indicating that MH is even close to being over.

(I am also enjoying this too much to accept that it would be over anytime soon.)

Would be nice as we are all patiently waiting.

Also, I would hate for it to be over, and I don't think it will be. But when I first read that he was running out of tapes, my first thoughts were that we were nearing endgame. More thought on the matter makes me think that we'll get more of Jay videotaping himself/using what we learn from the tapes. I'm hoping it gets more interactive and requires us to figure out what was communicated in the tapes to move forward.
