Nothing to do with SA, it was just another ARG.
Look around this forum, somewhere in archives, there are few lenghty posts summarising it

Actually, SomethingAwful made the Wyoming Incident, ran out of ideas mid-game and ended it with 'twas for the boners'...

Oh?
I read the summaries here, they didn't mention it?

i remember a few people mentioning it earlier, i believe they said it was by SA...

for the recod though, i won't believe in there being an operator until we see proof of it being more than just a repeated word

Yeah, I've seen spectrographs used a lot in audio puzzles, but alas I have NO IDEA how to do it. I shall inquire as to that, however, to see if there's anything there (I doubt it) Wink

Considering how badly our Ark friend wants us to follow audio clues, I'm willing to bet something valuable. Of course, the audio distortion/clues could be indecipherable until later on where we have more to work with.

And I was so sure of myself to begin with, why have you caused this doubt within me Wink

Heh, I'd say it's because spectrographs are not easy to make and I wouldn't exactly consider the PM of this to be someone with huge amounts of resources.

That said, now that I'm home I'll contact some friends to find out how to check for spectrography. Maybe we will find something Wink

My mind keeps going back to that image that Kiriyama pulled out, of the X-ed out oval symbol and OPERATOR... gah I wish we had more stuff to go by! I need to find out how OPERATOR goes with the Slender Man XD

Oh R'lyeh? You may very well be right--I don't know much of the subject, but they always seemed like they'd be very difficult to make because I haven't the slightest clue where to START let alone how to make them.

Obviously not, because the entirety of the Wyoming Incident was run by suggestions from the SA community to the puppetmaster. When they ultimately ran out of ideas, it was ended with 'twas for the boners'

See:
http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18374
Starting at the 7th post down and further, where an SA member explains that the puppetmasters incorporated SomethingAwful into the ARG.

hmmmmm veeeeeeerry interesting indeed Wink

1. You seem to have the audio for something.
2. You are showing videos of audio that seem to fit with the videos (marble hornets)
3. If you have the audio, you must have been the one taking them from the videos.

youare halfright

So which of these is wrong? I'm going to assume one doesn't count for the moment and venture a guess to say that he is showing the audio for something (Marble Hornets entries) but he did NOT take them from the videos.

Which means he got them from a different means.

I disagree the person who sent the PM started by saying You seem like a pretty nice person" This jumped out at me when totheark said youare halfright i think this i think this is the part that is wrong

I believe the following are the most appropriate themes for the Slender Man.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjZ1Mzf78CI
(which is actually the Salad Fingers theme)

If we're going off topic, then I should say this:

I was just listening to Chiodos' "Two Birds Stoned at Once" and it came to this line:

Can you hear the SILHOUETTES?
The SLIM and DARK figures
RISING like GIANTS

If this is not related to SM, I don't know what could else be.

(LOL-ing real hard)
