I looked at it frame-by-frame in an external player. Pre-skip blood is visible in 3 other frames for a total of 4 frames. It is visible, but not recognizable in even more.

I capped the applicable frames.

If we shorten Alex Kralie to "A. Kralie" the rearranging to "Ark A Lie" is more apparent.

WTF @ arks response to the youtube message.

Why is Alex's head bleeding before he shut the door and why is it still fresh after the 30 or so minutes?

Is there an IRC channel in which we can discuss this? Sorry, I eyesdropped on the totheark message screen.

Alex also uses a lower quality camera when he is filming things on his own time and such, but I think this was already pointed out.

The one thing I can think of to explain the bizarre distortions in the tapes are it has something to do with the SM being around.

I've tried analysing the audio distortions in a number of ways, but it hasn't really revealed any clues. There are at least two distinct types of distortion: a soft distortion heard in Entries #5 (~1:07, ~1:55) and #13 (around 0:55), and a hard distortion heard also in entry #5 (~0:34, ~1:13, ~2:34). There are other examples but these are the main ones.

The hard type of distortion sounds to me like the sound you get when you take a recording and amplify it way beyond 0dB, though it has been processed in more ways than that. I've attached an audio clip for comparison, where I've amplified the original by 48dB, filtered it to kill the treble, declipped it, amplified it again by 48, filtered and declipped it again, then amplified it once more with a hard limiter by about 15dB. I'd like to know if the rest of you audio types think the texture is similar.

Edit: Note that the original audio doesn't come from any of the Entries. This is just a test to see if we can figure out why the weird distortion appears. If you're able to decipher this, you'll find that the original audio track was a mix of some noises (white, then pink, then brown) and a newsreader talking about a giant snow-covered yetti that was spotted in North Dakota that the president wants captured for his personal menagerie.

Shat brix. No jk. Slender man inviting himself intp the house and INTO THE ROOM was scary enough, but the bloody alex was just waaaay out there - this suggests that slender man is more than willing to harm people (there goes my philosphy of "If I see him, i'll pounce the lanky bastard"). So i'm confused, is the tape chronological? In the night slender man came in, ripped Alex's head up, or is it Alex set up the camera while bloody, then left it and slender came back later?
