I'm not saying you have to "squelch every bit of false info". I'm saying if it's something as big as us calling some random lady at random hours of the day to ask about her DEAD DAUGHTER when she has NOTHING to do with the game, you probably should drop a hint that... maybe she's not part of what we're doing.

Every ARG has false crap flying around, bored people wanting to game jack, etc. And in most cases it doesn't matter and players factor that in. But there's a difference between a random rumors and "hearsay" and actually causing some emotional harm to a little old lady.

But thanks for the $.02. In this kind of economy, every little bit helps.

 		No, PMs read the forums all the time. The no-no would be actually posting on the forums.. which a lot of them seem to do anyway. LoL.

But, it's not like it was just posted on here. A lot of us sent him messages the day we got the number as well as the days following to see whether or not we should call the lady again. Direct messages. Which.. he obviously got eventually.

I mean, I'm not personally pissed off or anything. Just sucks to be that lady... Smile

maybe the number was really IG...
maybe the guy at the number wasn't Adam...
but was Uno, or someone else...

Just because ADAM says HE didn't call anyone... who knows for sure??
He's already let us know he doesn't remember things, and loses time, that's why he writes everything down. That's why he wrote down on the site that he called me... so he could see it later and know, and so that others would also know it was HIM....

Just my thoughts.

 		Even if it is.. which is a possibility. (I wouldn't put it past a man losing his mind.), I just wouldn't call that number anymore. There's no other reason for him to put so much stress on telling us that it's not his phone.

Besides, if that's the case, Cassandra's mom has at least Casey's and usagi's phone numbers. So she can call us.

 		So, I sent Uno/Adam/whoever an email and a Facebook message, and got a response to the Facebook message. Guess that's the way to get in touch these days.

My message was, ultimately, one of love. I told him that it hurt me to know he was hurting, and that I wanted to make sure he was okay. I told him I was sending feelings of love and positive energy in his direction whenever possible, and that I wished I could do more to help him.

I also tried a bit of semi-reverse psychology on him... I told him that I wouldn't try to stop him from going to California, but that I wanted him to really examine his gut reaction to the idea of going. I said that I understood why he wanted to, but he should only go if his heart truly told him that anything could be solved by going.

His response:

Thank you so much for your kindness. It is truly what I need right now. I need understanding, yet find very little of it... whether in my own mind, or from other people. I am as confused as everyone else is, perhaps more so. I have received some very angry and hurtful messages on here lately, but it is the norm for me. So guys, I know I'm not super involved with this as far as posting and finding new things (stupid new job taking up all my time...), but I'm still lurking, and I hope you'll take a word of advice from me. I know I'm fairly new to ARGs, but don't forget the major philosophy: This Is Not A Game.

When you are talking to Uno or Adam, it is not a game. You are talking to a real person with real issues and real confusion. If you were in his position, what would you want to hear? I know we all want to solve puzzles and such, but remember, it is NOT a game. Interact as if it is real. Like he said on one of his pages (can't find it right now, so I'm paraphrasing), you often find the most information when you aren't looking. I think he said something like that, hahah.

Hope this didn't come across as rude. I'm super tired. I look forward to making the occasional update when I interact with Uno/Adam, but mostly I'll be lurking and wishing I could do more. Thanks folks! Keep up the excellent work!

I was just wondering about uno/adam/,

on twitter he seems to talk as all his personalities, in the coded version and in normal text.

on facebook he seems to be uno all the time, ie. in code.

myspace hasnt been updated in a while, but his mood says he's awake, maybe to talk to "Adam" we need to talk to him on there?

thoughts?

ETA: just noticed he did post on myspace yesterday about getting ticket back to California, written in normal text.

 		Surprisingly enough I got added by our friend Uno Hallucinine on Facebook as late as yesterday. I thought this ARG was too far into play for people to be drawn in, but it seems the PMs think not..
