OK, I think I will combine all the info we have so far into a single unified post that should be pretty easy for newbies to find and understand if they want to jump into this thing. Spoiler'd for anyone who wants to solve it for themselves.

To all those who did the work to compile all this in the first place: Thanks! Wink

Assignment 1 for Temp Employees

Just got this email... I'm penning away:

Quote:
Greetings!

As the team researching Project Dolor is extremely busy, I've decided to give you your first assignment. As they will always be, doing these assignments is optional; however, it earns you points that elevate your status within the Institute.

Assignment #1
open to all temporary workers

description: as I continue working on the Institute site, I think it would be a great idea to have short biographies for each of our workers, including the temporary ones. Your task is to pen a short autobiography for our .net website. It should be written in third person, excepting quotations, and discuss your achievements, beliefs, and goals. Please also include the name you would like to use on the website. It will be publicly accessible, so don't use it as your diary. It should not contain any slanderous, libelous, or obscene content. All submitted works may be revised at my discretion.

submitting your work: simply put it in the body of an e-mail with the subject line "Assignment #1" and send it to me. I will update the site and, shortly, you will see it linked here: http://instituteforfuturemedicine.net/staff/temporary-team-members

deadline: there is no deadline for this assignment

Now, go at it!

Technically yours,
Gabriel Lorenzen

Thanks Swift360! I couldn't have done it without a bit of help from the others here, though. I am not organized enough to do all that from scratch.

I got the email too. I think I will go with a fictional bio. Using a fictional name like Milo Polonicus, I don't think anyone would believe a truthful bio; College Student, Video Game Player, All around "Knowledge Nerd". No, I don't think that will do at all... Wink

I like that we seem to be getting going now. I'm also happy to say that I have been officially hired as a Test Subject (zombie-to-be?). For my bio, I think I'll go with the embellished reality tactic. Think they'll buy a NASA astronaut, PhD in Astrophysics, working from a secret moon base? ... Maybe I'll tone it down a notch. Smile

OK, I got mine all figured out. Here it is for all to see:

Milo Polonicus was born in Athens, Greece in 1974. As a child, he always had an interest in life's biggest questions, and he always felt that his destiny was to answer them as best he could.

He began his academic journey in 1992, when he was accepted to the University of Athens to pursue a Doctorate in Biochemistry. While he was there, he found himself becoming interested in Philosophy, and decided to double Major in Biochemistry and Philosophy.

His doctoral thesis, titled "Ethics in Medicine: Stepping Stone, or Stumbling Block?", was considered by the faculty and his peers to be one of the best examples of thoughtful consideration of the positives and negatives of medical ethics, and earned him a seat on the Council of Regents at the university in 2002.

In 2005, he moved to the United States to pursue research pertaining to ethical practices in medicine, and is known for outing the unethical behavior of several top institutions.

In 2009, he applied for and was granted a temporary research position at the Institute for the Future of Medicine, and is enthusiastic about being at the forefront of medical breakthroughs.

EDIT: It's been posted! Yay! Wink

I don't know how I missed this before, but back on page 2 of this thread Denodon posted an email reply which was a press release. At the bottom of the press release he mentioned there was white text which when revealed stated the following:

Quote:
my brother will not win this fight. he will soon see how this medicine corrupts. @nogainswoutpain on twitter. please join me in my fight against this. and spread the word!

I am wondering if Matthew is not Dr. Darrell's brother and also the other co-founder of the Institute. It might not be important.

nogainswoutpain This digging into Darrell's past probably isn't making him a very happy camper...

Hey all. Just sent in my Bio.

I guess I picked the wrong week to work extra hours. No swag for me. Mad

Just wanted to drop a line and say Congrats to everyone for figuring everything out so fast. Good work all.

And as far as there being two sides. I think I'm going to play just the side for the institute. Maybe if the PM hasn't planned the whole thing out, we can effect the outcome of the game.

Keep up the good work all.

Aww don't worry, I'm sure we'll all share our swag by means of scans!
This will be my very first arg swag so I'm pretty excited.
