I got accepted as a researcher as well. I am assuming we will get our passwords and email addresses from the IT man

I tweeted nogainswoutpains regarding this: "I can't believe that the Institute is going out and hiring so many people... obviously these new hires don't know the truth."

I replied with: " I'm with you. sooo many people being hired for this heinous cause."

and he replied: "Somethings are too good to be true, my friend. You shall see."

And then he followed me. Razz

I sent in a slightly modified researcher resume I found on the web for the job. I also included my cell phone number in case they want to text me the results. Wink

/ETA: Susanne emailed saying that my resume is being reviewed.

New E-Mail!

Quote:
Dear New Team Member:

Welcome to the Institute for the Future of Medicine. I'm Gabriel Lorenzen, the IT director here at the Institute.

At this time, I would like to provide you with some information regarding our e-mail system and website.

Since you have just been hired, you will use the e-mail address you used to send in your resume as your Institute account. You, along with all other temporary employees, are a member of an e-mail group for Project Dolor. Your address has been added to this list. Its address is dolortempsSPLATinstituteforfuturemedicine.com. You may now send e-mails to this address to get in contact with any temporary employee. Also, our full-time staff may contact you using this e-mail address. All e-mails will be addressed as going to the previously mentioned address; you will receive it in your inbox (with the e-mail you previously provided). If you would like to change your primary contact e-mail, please let me know. Remember, this is a group e-mail address. Anything you send to it will be received by multiple persons. Personal and/or confidential messages should not be sent to this e-mail address. Please note that your e-mail address will be revealed to the group when/if you send an e-mail to the group address.

I will be monitoring all activity with this e-mail address and group. Anyone who sends inappropriate, slanderous, libelous, hurtful, abusive or irrelevant content will be terminated immediately. Please do not send any attachments to this e-mail address without my permission.

After you observe and learn the ropes of the Institute, you will be given the privilege to send e-mails to a more elite group, containing all of our Level I employees; if you contribute enough and we view you as an extremely valuable asset of the Institute, you will receive an official Institute e-mail address.

Don't worry, that's all in the future. I will let you know if and when you receive additional permissions or promotions.

If you ever need password reminders or hints, please let me know. Other than that, I suggest you get to know your fellow temporary team members, as you will be working often together. I will be sending a list of employees to the group address shortly so you can get acquainted.

Technically yours,
Gabriel Lorenzen, IT Director
adminSPLATinstituteforfuturemedicine.com

Looks like we can send messages to each other ?

Edit: Note The "If you ever need password reminders or hints" part

got this in a request for more information...

Dear Mr. <Me>:

Thank you for your inquiry. I am not currently on my work computer, so I don't have access to the documents that I would normally send. I should have them ready, prepared, and sent for you in the next day or two.

In the meantime, you may visit our temporary website at http://instituteforfuturemedicine.com. Additionally, I am sending you a copy of our most recent press release, which has some information about the Institute.

I apologize for the delay.

Sincerely,
Chris Naip

I direct messaged Matthew last night:

Quote:
I haven't applied for a job at the institute because I agree with you, but I can't help but think I might miss something. Should I apply?

No reply so far, even though he was quite active last night warning people that all the new employees didn't know what they were getting into.

I mean, I'm practically asking him if he wants me to be his "man on the inside." I guess not.
