So, we got an email with password hints.

Quote:
All employees have the right to use the employee portal. Currently, you also have the right to use the announcements page there as well. If there are any pages marked "Level I Access", you don't have the necessary permissions to use them.

It is against Institute policy to send any webpage passwords via e-mail, due to various risks and past problems. I can, however, provide you with hints for those passwords.

Password one: This part in the brain always makes me think of jazz musician Thelonious Monk because of their somewhat similar names. Not hypo.

Password two: temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity, humility

Hope this helps! If you need anything else, please let me know.

That would be the thalamus. It's not the hypothalamus, since they specifically stated that. Password one: thalamus. It brings you to a page that says:
Quote:
Employees may use the following pages for reference. All information contained within is confidential and may not be revealed to parties outside the Institute.

* Employee Announcements

* Special Projects–level I access only
.

Both the announcements and projects page link to a password protected page, which brings us to hint two:
Quote:
Password two: temperance, silence, order, resolution, frugality, industry, sincerity, justice, moderation, cleanliness, tranquility, chastity, humility

Those are Benjamin Franklin's "13 Virtues", which makes the password for the Announcements page "BenjaminFranklin".

The page says

Quote:
Work for on our vaccination to prevent pain is ongoing. There will be a public meeting and unveiling of the test of the drug in late October. Location searches are ongoing.

Hiring for temporary positions related to Project Dolor is ongoing. Please welcome these new staff members:

Courtney–researcher

Ript–researcher

James–test subject

Dave–researcher

Noah–test subject

Caroline–researcher

Redct–researcher

Will–test subject

Es importante que todos nosotros detengamos a este persona "Matthew". Si él continué con sus quejas del Instituto, tendremos muchos problems. Él ya sabe demasiado. Haga lo que sea necesario a hacer callarlo.

If you have an announcment, please let Gabriel Lorenzen know and he will post it for you.

That randomly placed Spanish translates to:

Quote:
It is important that we all try to stop this person "Matthew." If he continues with his complaints against the Institute, we will have many problems. He already knows too much. Do whatever it takes to shut him up.

The only thing left to get through is the Level I access page. I have a feeling we'll have hints forthcoming.

So on the 'Protected: Announcements' page with the warning about Mathew is a hidden message '/memo7032009'??? (Highlight the text)

Have tried to incorporate it into web address, but nothing is working.

Memo search

Matthew posted a new blog entry at No Pain, No Gain. Noticed the url of the post included "searchmemoatinstitutesite". When you search "memo", you get the July 3 memo:

Quote:

To: all full-time staff

With the myriad of new employees here at the Institute, I believe it best to put our darker days behind us. Our Institute is being hailed as "incredible" and "remarkable" and we must continue to use that as our face to the public.

I realize you are working long, laborious hours, and I appreciate that. When the FDA team comes to approve further testing of the vaccine, I know our work will pay off.

So, I ask that you please do not speak of my past. We've already enough trouble with that muckraker Matthew. Why does he even care about what we're doing?

Let us forget the tumultuous past and look to the bright, pleasant future.

Wishing you all a great holiday weekend,

Dr. William Darrell

Great work guys, I don't think I could've gotten all that info myself. I'm going to try and work with the memo thing now and see what I can find.

Nothing yet, but I just got accepted as both a researcher and a test subject using two different e-mails. Anyone else get the e-mail from Ralph Loizzo? Is he a player or could he be Matthew in disguise?

Anyways, there's a new announcement on the site just wishing us a happy Independence Day, but the logo changed colors and I was wondering if that was significant. And can anyone see any hidden meaning in the message. It looks safe enough but you never know...

Ya I can't see what relevance the memo has yet.... But it certainly asks us to enquire about Dr. William Darrell's past...

I received a reply within minutes. If you sent a resume today or late last night, it's possible they either aren't available on the weekend or they aren't available for the holiday today.

I got a reply to my direct message to Matthew asking if I should apply to the institute even if I agree with him that what they're doing is wrong:

Quote:
nogainswoutpain: Indeed that may be a good idea. You could likely help me discover some new info.

So it looks like there aren't two "sides." It's time to apply to the institute and help out!

Just so you all know: I am taking the evil genius angle to see if I can generate some replies from our "friends".

Lurker here ^^ I followed Matthew on Twitter a few days ago and found this after his most recent message...

Matthew's Tweet wrote:
I'm not so sure that the Institute's 'regular' website is actually as bare as it seems. /Unbelievable!

--(sent by Williams.Benjamin at 00:33) I know, I know. The FDA is coming soon to approve further testing. We've got to get it right before then. Otherwise, things won't be so good. Especially with Dr. Darrell.

(sent by Chan.Sarah at 00: 46) I guess you're right. But I don't know how we'll ever be able to even get it close to ready. It has failed so many times and already cost so much. They put out that press release far too soon… if they see us fail……

So I guess this wonder drug isn't as great as it seems...I'm tempted to sign up as a Test Subject but I tend to disappear a lot (hence while I lurk so much lol).

@catgirl789 I think the logo changed so it's red, white, and blue. I guess it's more patriotic...?

I guess, it's just that the red looked a little orange, oh well your explanation seems best.

/EDIT1:

Oh, new tweet from Matt, I think it's a clue.

Quote:
though some may say that time is just an illusion, it's of incredible importance when trying to discover new secrets.

I asked him out right why time is important, I'm waiting for a response right now.

/EDIT2:

He also posted a tweet 12 hours ago saying that revenge is sweet. Which was kind of random...

/EDIT3:

I got one!

Quote:
it guides us in decisions. Timestamps.

Not sure what it means, although I feel like it should be really obvious.

/EDIT4:

The only timestamp I can find on the site is on a comment from a James Ziemer on the Welcome to our site! post.

http://instituteforfuturemedicine.net/2009/06/29/welcomenew/#comments

/EDIT5:

Incidentally, James L. Ziemer was the CEO of the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

/MOD-EDIT: merged all of catgirl789's posts into one. -ndemeter

Timestamps

There are the three timestamps in those messages. Note that the third one has a space in it that the other two don't. They would all seem to have been written shortly after midnight (00 = midnight, right?). 12, 33, 46 would seem to be a long time if it were counting minutes, but seconds seem like it would fit. But that doesn't really make sense, because then it should be 00:00:00.

Thoughts?

Got it!!!!!
