pointless posts and lack of moderation If you pay attention, you will notice that many posters from early days are no longer here. I dip in around once a week or so. Why? TOO MANY POINTLESS POSTS
While I enjoy the book and thinking about the cards and clues and such, this website has lost its appeal. Too many people are truely acting like children and wasting space. Arguements over spellings, posting blank threads for books that haven't come out yet, making new threads that would better be in others....the list goes on.
I do hope some of you will grow up a bit and think before you post again. It seems sad to me that there is no effective moderation to stop this nonsense! I hope it ends soon so I can once again come back and enjoy the forum.

I think this is a little harsh. Yes, I agree that this forum is a little chaotic and not as tidy as it should be, but the the "pointless posts," as you put it, can be ignored or will drift to the bottom in favor of the more useful threads.
Also, per the bits that I've italicized above, it might be worth keeping in mind that The 39 Clues is intended for children aged 6-14 and therefore it might be reasonable to expect that many of the people posting here are indeed in that target age-range. Therefore, telling them to 'grow up' seems a little... unrealistic.

The community here at this forum is strongly encouraged to self-moderate. Not that one person should necessarily be bossing around anyone else, of course, but that the needs of the game/story and the tools used to engage in the experience and solve puzzles are organized on a fairly grassroots level.
There are always moderators and admins around to help out with technical board issues and Terms of Service violations and the like, but it seems like you have a really good grip on the game and very likely have great ideas on how to proceed from here. I encourage you to set an example, and see if the community might take you up on some of it.

I agree, the user "cahill" has shown themselves to be stubbornly ignorant of what good forum conduct is, continues to post in every thread they see with completely useless drivel, and acts like they might be under the age guidelines for the 39 Clues contest.
The age range given is for eligibility in the contest, it is not indicative of who is the main group of people on this section of the forums.
In addition to that, we have young users who have had no problems recognizing and following basic conduct expectations. It's a bad idea to be lax on these expectations simply because of someone's age. What's realistic is to give many more chances to someone young as they try to live up to what's expected . cahill does not try, they only do what they feel like and annoy the rest of us.
Please, do not reward this type of behavior with undeserved leniency.
I would also point out that this forum subsection doesn't create threads very quickly - only when big enough news comes along to warrant it - in stark contrast cahill has made seven in less than a month and none of them are of any worth.

The underlining was added by me. You are not acting like someone old enough to win a prize. Your vocabulary shows you're old enough, your behavior doesn't.
I'm not asking for you to stop posting - I'm asking for you to actually read what others have written, to read how it is written, and to try your best to follow those examples.

Yes. I do expect that. It keeps you from saying something that's already been said before and also answers questions that have already been asked. I do it, it's not difficult at all.
And if you're 12th grade level, you're not eligible for the prizes - you'd be too old. The way you write though suggests you're somewhere between 4th and 8th grade. That or you're one of those unfortunate people who do most of their writing on cell phones - that type of language usage tends to be damaging to a person's ability to speak and write in an intelligent manner when done too regularly or exclusively.

Then it would be a good thing if you would write at that level - it makes you easier to understand.

Same here. Notice something though? I use the full spelling of words, punctuation, and decent grammar. If you have a full keyboard, you don't have an excuse to write so poorly.
When people can understand you, it's more likely they'll want to actually discuss things with you.
