A while back, abby said that there's 40ish people that live in "gopher town".

Also, just for the sake of humouring me, can we ALL:
1) unfollow @KRFgroup? I mean, this paranoia sucks. They haven't followed back, responded in any way whatsoever.
2) Also, I think it would be a pretty good idea for us to tell Abby via DM about what we find and to ask her questions.

That's some good thinking there, Richard. A couple of things, though: firstly, there's been a suggestion that the computer could somehow have been hacked from outside; two, in the blog post on the shipment message Abby said that the people who'd packed the shipment were certain no message was packed with it, so the message could have been interfered with at any point during the transit (unless they're lying). Not disagreeing with your conclusions; just making some clarifications.

Re: the open/closed communication debate. I'm quite enjoying the KRF paranoia! And I'm sure (IG speaking) they're powerful enough to webstalk us whether we unfollow them or not. However, I think it's probably good gameplay practice to send major finds via DM to Abby, just so that spoilers aren't out there in the open for other players!

Also, I think we've been a bit quick to jump to paranoia about KRF Group. Just because they're elusive doesn't necessarily mean they're evil, even if they do occupy the standard shadowy organisation character slot in an ARG. Apart from the webstalking, they've done nothing actually evil -- and I assume they're involved enough in ZT to want to be watching what's going on with its new comms strategy and development of SurvivorCommand. Partly playing devil's advocate here, but I thought it was worth pointing out the leap of judgement going on.

Remember, also, that just because Abby's tweets are friendly, doesn't necessarily mean she's on the side of good (if there is one)!

Just noticed that, on the KRF Connect page there is "Update: 7/10/09 Twitter Link Removed per HQ Request - For Assoc. Only" in the source.

Even though it says that if we wish to become associates we should join the group nothing has happened for anyone who has joined, so I've decided I'll send them an e-mail asking what it takes to become an "associate" since they only accept them biennially.

Will let you know if I get a reply!

Have expanded the workspace a bit, and in doing so re-discovered a detail we haven't mentioned much: that the 9 primate cadavers were procured by a person/body referred to as "Artemis/AF" in the Command Updates, from a "facility" in the Central Congo Basin. Don't think that leads us anywhere yet (unless that rings any bells, anyone?), but thought it was worth mentioning.

The facility is probably the one that was recently refurbished, with the pictures of before it was fixed up posted on the gallery on ZT. And Uganda happens to be west of the Congo (the country) so perhaps it's within the basin.
