AirTran has discount coach prices and regular - is the discount price available for all or does it require a membership or card or something? Seems odd to list a 'discount' price next to the regular price.. who'd buy the latter?

Without getting too deep into it, The tickets will be the same for you if you pay cash.

You mean discount price is available for cash purchase? Not sure what mean...

They differ somewhat if you get them through other means like companion passes, or vouchers, or status upgrades, or reward travel. I suspect they list them all so that it looks like a ticking clock. "get the remaining discount fares before it goes up to this other price!" (as if all prices don't change daily anyway…)

I mean if I buy the ticket online, I can select the discount price instead of regular... is that valid? Is there some other requirement I need to qualify for the discount price? I did a quick skim of info but couldn't find any help about that discount price option. Which kind of bugs me from a design standpoint Razz where's the "(?)" ? heh

I'll be getting in on Wednesday @ aprox 2:00 pm i also swear i'm not just telling you so you help me with my bags again this year, lol. since i'm not also doing comic con, my bags will be much more me manageable.

Cool, there was a flight that arrived around 1:30 iirc, so that could work out well.
FYI, I mentioned before, but there's a virtual geocache at the airport I want to get too, hehe. Requires a bit of driving to get to a relatively obscure parking area near a building, to read a building name/code thing. Smile Not sure the best way to go about it... I have a friend who did it recently so I know what to do. It's just a matter of getting there, either by cab or rental car or something. *shrug* gotta figure something out, even if it's just me =)

Can't wait for the 'fest! Only a month away

By cash, i mean not those other things i mentioned. For money. You can choose the cheapest ticket you want.

The ? Is the price numbers (I know. I learned that last month after 4+ years with their web site).

Except how come Pixie could delete my duplicate posts? I am a moderator and I used to have that power. My powers are clearly weakening. So SAD.

Not to defend $15/day for internet but... pretty much every hotel in midtown charges for wireless, posh or not. I thought about negotiating for it, but if they took the charge away there, they'd find some other way/place to add it on and, at least this way, you're in control of it.

I am not complaining about your negotiations in any way, shape, or form and I am sorry if it came out that way. I just get spoiled by free wifi in so many places that I come to expect it. Now that I have an iTouchmyself, I am constantly on the prowl for it. Smile

You and the Planning Committee have done an excellent job, as usual. Whatever comments I make are never meant to disparage you fine folks and your tireless, much appreciated, work.

Apparently, I was wrong. Or, my probability reasoning was off. Either way, I'm gonna see you guys on the 15th, and that's all that matters! Very Happy

Oh, no! It didn't. I, too, have come to expect such things from hotels. I was a bit shocked that it was so hard to find! That defense I made was, as much, to my own surprise as to yours. Smile

Wow! Now I'm even more sorry I have to miss this ARGfest.. This price for a W hotel made me reconsider and I have to say I've been wavering and crunching numbers- still to no avail.

I have always wanted to stay at a W hotel and could never justify the cost.
It will be fabulous!

Great job imbri for sticking with this difficult process and finding an amazing deal for us. Really, really well done. If even I can't attend, I still appreciate your hard work!

Aww thanks! But really, there are a bunch of people that deserve credit for pulling this all together... Giskard, xnbomb, Space, Gupfee, Lovek, varin, Vortech, driz, Clayfoot, Rob, ineffabelle, people I'm probably forgetting and feel bad about but it's almost 2am so I hope they forgive me.

I made a few comments and additions to Vortech's dining guide on the wiki, so please check it out. Made a few additions to the bar scene, and can make some more if you feel like going further out. (Admittedly, Midtown ain't my usual stomping grounds.) Anyone want any recommendations for nightclubs?

I'm quite excited for everyone to come visit my city!

I've updated the ARGFest 2010 map with a number of the locations on the dining guide. I did not include most of the ones that would require a car as, I know, the vast majority of you will not have cars. I did include all of the ones that are "In and Around the Conference area" - though, arguably, the ones 2 miles or so away are pushing that definition... esp as there are a bunch of options within a few blocks that are not listed (albeit, in some cases, for a good reason).

It's been a while since I got my drink on in the neighborhood, but I know there are a few decent bars within stumbling distance of the hotel. Right now those are lacking on the map, but for those that desire such things, I can assure you that they do exist.

Of the four right there dining options that are on the map...
Willy's - One of my favorite places in Atlanta. Good food. Don't come for the margaritas. If have one you probably won't regret it. If you have three, you might. Decent to great patio - weather & crowd dependent.

South City Kitchen - Fancy southern food that is quite good - if you don't mind a price tag for comfort food. The she crab soup is amazing. The fried green tomatoes are also worth getting - not quite the must have as the she crab soup, but close.

Tamarind Seed - It's an Atlanta favorite. Everyone has been & everyone likes it. Not the best Thai food you'll ever have, but probably some of the best in Atlanta. (Atlanta does a few things well, Thai is not one of them.)

Ra - Not the best sushi you'll ever have but not the worst. Vortech called it popular & pretentious and that's a perfect description. But somehow that doesn't knock it off my list, which may be saying something.

Yeah. Thanks. Since I don't like beer and smoke is lethal to me and my mixed drink style is either quite a few decades behind the norm or highly culinary, my recommendations are significantly more esoteric than what is probably useful here.

Friends who take beer seriously speak highly of local brewer Terrapin. And I keep running into employees at parties and they seem like nice folk, so try to grab some of that while you are around.

Panita Thai Kitchen does amazingly good Thai food. But the owner and usually sole employee has a brain tumor, so the service can be slow, and/or very odd. Also, It's all patio/porch so the weather plays a role. It's in the highlands, toward the Ponce end where lots of bars are.

For me, it says Hashiguchi Jr. is too far to walk.
