Has anyone e-mailed undrground man? I sent one this past Saturday, no reponse at all.

EDIT:
Got a reply!

So I asked about the password on CoG, seeing how a neighborhood watch group would seem appropriate with the Joker on the loose.

No. I want to know, too. I think something is wrong. I don't think it's really them. If you get a password, don't log on from your own computer. And be careful what ink you touch.

If CoG isn't the watch group the originals were, that probably means AJH's death wasn't an accident. dun dun dun...

I then checked the other sites to if there were any other updates:

From Linda:

Quote:
Mass Murder At Media Convention, Interstate Hunt For The Joker Continues

July 27, 2009

GOTHAM CITY, NJ -- Gotham City Police Commissioner James Gordon has issued a joint statement on behalf of GCPD, SDPD, and federal authorities. A dozen GCPD officers, several SDPD officers, three federal agents, and over 750 convention attendees were killed in San Diego over the last four days by poisoned ink found in flyers and in trading cards. The flyers were distributed unknowingly by GCPD officers on the scene, while the trading cards were passed out The Joker while he was disguised as a costumed attendee at the event.

The exact nature of the toxin is unknown at this time, but may be related to a series of robberies at military depots which occurred over the past 10 days. Anyone still in possession of these flyers or trading cards is advised to avoid touching them and to contact GCPD immediately.

Authorities have expressed their "profound sorrow" at this enormous tragedy, and have redoubled their efforts to capture The Joker. His whereabouts, and those of his accomplices, are currently unknown. It is also now believed that his hostage, Dr. Harleen Quinzel, is no longer alive. The search for Dr. Quinzel continues, however, until investigators can prove this conclusively.

From Jim of Gotham Times:

Quote:
Nobody recognized that they were looking at the real Joker. He replaced cops' flyers with identical sheets printed with poisoned ink. He passed out packets of gruesome "trading cards" made with poisoned ink. And he stole the poison for the ink from federal armories. He posed for pictures with people's children, then he gave the little kids the death cards.

Hundreds of people are dead, and Jim Gordon had to whistle up another dozen cops to fly out from Gotham after the first dozen were poisoned in San Diego. Nobody knows where the maniac is now, and no one knows what he'll do next.

Everybody's falling down on the job this time, folks, and we can't afford that. Please, for God's sake, stay safe.

We've seen the posters, I wonder if there were actual cards too.

Dr. Miller's status on Facebook at the moment (timestamp is "10 hours ago"):

Quote:
He's killed almost eight hundred people this time. I've been there when dozens of families were informed. I don't think I want to cure this man anymore.

Update from Saturday, 2:47 pm (my time zone--EDT):

Quote:
(The status:) They found about a dozen GCPD cops dead last night. Poison. Coroner isn't ready to make a statement. I can't believe they're letting these people still do their silly comic-book conference.

(A Facebook user's comment on this, 5:06 pm Saturday:) Is "poison" the only detail you have? Last I heard that's not the Jokers MO. all of the deaths last year were either knife or bomb related.

(The reply, "10 hours ago" as of now:) I've been with their team for days, and it looks like it was poison in the ink.

Received response from Dr. Maga

To: You
From: Maga, Wendi
Subject: Re --- Blackgate Fire - Your Eyes Only

Thank you so much for your email. At this point, I don't know where else to turn, but I honestly believe that if enough of us join together, we can expose Quincy Sharp, Arkham Asylum, and whoever else is behind the Blackgate fire. Make no mistake. This fire was no accident. I don't have any hard evidence, but I have enough to know when something is wrong, and I know of a way we can bring the truth to light. But I need your help to do it. All I ask is that you don't share this information with anyone - I'm in enough trouble as it is. Please, hear me out.

My name is Wendi Maga. I am the resident psychiatrist at Blackgate Penitentiary. At least I was the resident psychiatrist until I was summarily dismissed. When Blackgate prisoners were being transferred to Arkham, I asked the warden what's going on. I sent an email to Quincy Sharp, asking if he would like me to coordinate patient histories with his staff. Suddenly, I'm fired. Budget cuts, they told me. I suppose they just happened to slash the budget after I started asking questions about the fire. 15 years I dedicated to that place. It was my life. I met my husband Peter there. My God, Peter, he suffered severe burns in the fire and is in a coma at Gotham General. But I do know that if Peter were with me now he would not allow this injustice to continue. Neither will I.

When the warden wouldn't listen to me, I went straight to the police. But some watch commander just jotted down a few notes while I talked, then said that he can't discuss the details of an ongoing investigation. They didn't even ask for my contact information. Honestly, I think the Gotham PD might be involved as well. This is why I need your help!

The warden has already told me I sound crazy. I am a logical, scientific doctor. I don't have evidence, but I have symptoms, symptoms of a conspiracy. As a doctor, symptoms are enough to act on even if we can't make a proper diagnosis. That is what we must do here, together. Consider this. First, only minutes after the fire alarm sounded, Blackgate inmates were being evacuated to Arkham. The firefighters were still unloading their hoses. It takes months to fix a pothole in this town, and yet these inmates are being shuttled away before the blaze is even out? No way.

Second, why Arkham? That is a mental hospital. Convicted felons have no place there. I know Quincy Sharp and the mayor will have you believe that Arkham is the safest place in the world for these prisoners, but there simply isn't enough room there. I'm sure the mayor and warden could have had the prisoners moved to another prison upstate. So the question remains: Why Arkham? Why would Sharp want to move a hundred violent criminals to his asylum?

I've heard things about Arkham, rumors of unethical medical testing and inhumane treatment of prisoners. Who knows what goes on behind closed doors in that place? Yet the mysterious circumstances around the Blackgate fire, the suspicious arrival of the Arkham security contingent in advance of the Gotham authorities, the transfer of our most dangerous prisoners to Arkham at a time when the Asylum itself is under such scrutiny. All of this is impossible to ignore!

Finally, there is one more thing that continues to stick in my mind. The day before the fire I saw Frank Boles, one of Arkham's guards, on the Blackgate grounds. He has visited the prison before, consulting on "security maintenance," whatever that is. I wouldn't be surprised if he was visiting a friend inside Blackgate -- he probably belongs in there with them, by the looks of him. But still, he had no business on the grounds that day. Why was Frank Boles at Blackgate the day before the fire?

So I started to look up information on Boles. Blackgate's online security is not that secure and I was able to log-on before my credentials were revoked a few days later. Luckily, I managed to download some confidential files, which I have uploaded to a personal FTP site at www.gothamcitydigital.com.

One thing I found most interesting was CCTV footage of Arkham Asylum. It looks innocent enough, but in the middle of the clip, you can see that the security system identified Boles and his employee ID number. I bet if we go to the Arkham site and can log on to the secured back-end as Boles, I'm sure we'll uncover whatever dirty secrets they have hiding there.

Whatever is happening at Arkham, something is very wrong. I do know that there are several levels of security access at Arkham. If we can gain access to each level of security, we could spill Arkham's secrets, make Sharp take responsibility for whatever illegal experiments he has over there. And guess who has level one security access? Frank Boles. He's the first key.

Check the CCTV footage for yourself. I will continue to try and gain access to Arkham's files. I think that if I try to login, and you try to login, and the hundreds of others that want justice login, we can crack this system until Arkham's secrets are exposed.

I don't know about you, but I'm tired of wrongdoing in Gotham City going unpunished. My husband is nearly dead. Blackgate is ruined. And Quincy Sharp and Arkham Asylum are in the middle of all of it. Please help me. I will be with you every step of the way.

Thank you,
WM

Jett: Ok...searching all over this board and checking for any updates on the status of this whatever-it-is, I now would have to say...WTF?

Who is Wendi Maga? Who is Quincy Sharp? Who is Peter Bole?
Edit: Nobody, it clearly says Frank Boles...my bad, I jumped the gun, not really reading what this was about after not recognising anything familiar about this.

None of that seems to turn up on the old Batman game. And that login isn't working, either.

Are you from another community and you managed to get a login on citizensofgotham.com ?

Confused

WTF?

Hmmm... now I'm confused. It may be that I've stumbled onto another ARG, and now I can't remember why I assumed that they were related.
I started at arkhamcare.com, where a ticker informs you that Blackgate prison inmates have been added to the mix. The ticker is a link to

http://www.gothamcitymunicipal.com/?q=articles/blackgate-prison-gutted-fire-displaced-inmates-transferred-arkham-asylum

Where the following comment is posted:

Dr.WM (1 hour ago)
This fire is a sham, a cover-up. Of what, I don't know, but I do know this entire situation is dirty. I have worked in the infirmary of Blackgate for 15 years. I don't want to say much here, but there are some suspicious things happening the day before the fire. Has anyone stopped to think why would someone start a fire in Blackgate? Why would they choose to transfer these prisoners to Arkham? I'm sick and tired of living in this city. You may not read it in the papers, but there are casualties in all this. I want justice, and I hope all of you want it too. If you want to know the truth, email me at drwmagaSPLATblackgateprison.com

So I sent an email, and got the response I posted. - Jett

P.S. I've managed to follow up a little bit at arkhamcare.com. I suspect it's a viral for the upcoming Batman Arkham Asylum game.

Which is what we were speculating "our" game is about. Smile

The Joker escaped from Arkham Asylum with Harleen Quinzel and drove across states to Comic Con. We also got some kind of countdown - or so we thought - by an individual called Undrgroundman.
But nothing big happened, that any of the UFers at SDCC would know about.
The only thing about citizensofgotham.com I was ever able to find was a Twitpic of Wanted/Missing posters. Short time after that it was reported that those posters had been written with poisoned ink and loads of people had died.

And since then we haven't heard anything. But, personally, I haven't done anything, either. Probably I am to blame for that, then. Caught up in Intimation, right now. Wink

Maybe you just found a second rabbit hole and they are now busy working on that side until the two games meet up.

But I know way too little about Marvel Universe to be able to tell where to put all these names and make a connection. I let someone else take over. Wink

Anyway, have fun!

PS: Oh...how did you get to arkhamcare.com, if I may ask?

Arkham viral

I was googleing 'arkham' and related terms (sorry, don't remember the exact search) when I saw the link to the article about the Blackgate fire.

Using the info in the email I received, it's pretty easy to get into the employee section of the arkhamcare website. It seems to be a chain of employees - use Frank Boles account to get to Dr. Gretchen Westler's account to get to Dr. Sarah Cassidy's. That's as far as I've gotten. - Jett

I was able to login to Arkhamcare.com. It gives a list of employees which David Miller, aka ArkhamDoc is not listed. Also, when you login, it asks to fillout some information and the standard Terms of Service is from Eidos, the company that is making Arkham Asylum. It looks like Arkhamcare is for the game.

CoG is probably not related.

I agree, arkhamcare must be about the upcoming game. I notice that Dr. Quinn is also absent from the list, as is Quincy Sharp. No doubt I'll have to get further in before finding these.

But now I'm beginning to doubt that CoG is related to the Eidos game.

Arkham Care

Well, it would appear that the good Dr. Maga in now following me on Twitter. Unfourtunately, I haven't much time to persue Arkamcare this week - has anyone else persued this? Thanks, Jett

Yeah, I played around with it, yesterday. It's a neat flash game, although not very logical/realistic so far. I guess the other accounts will unlock later on.

For anyone who wants to check it out, here is the Twitter: http://twitter.com/wmaga

You should not post about it in here, but not sure this needs its own thread. The sites may just be the entry point to the flash game. Then again, I think ARPG might be dead or waiting indefinitely for us to do something and who cares?
Dunno

Edit: Back to the topic...I contacted Linda Garcia, asking about a status update, because, what the hell, there must be a cover-up, something even worse kept from us! And what about that weird site? Are we all gonna die??
(Yeah, I pushed the paranoid button a little...)

I'm not really sure that Citizens of Gotham is connected to Arkham Care. Arkham Care is the official viral for Arkham Asylum - graphics alone show a game-related connection.

I did a WHOIS search on citizensofgotham.com and emailed the guy it's registered under, just to get some sort of idea of what it is. The overall site/journals/etc. give me a roleplay sort of feel more than ARG (but it's always possible that I'm wrong). No response yet. It's possible that, if this was a game, it could have died out because no one seemed to find anything connected at Comic-Con - I know I didn't.

As for the overall Batman facts/figures - if this does pick up into anything further, I can be of a little help. I'm pretty familiar with the bigger players in the DC Universe, as convoluted as they get sometimes. Smile

Oh, let me clarify that I am very certain ARPG is not connected to Arkham Care. Unless you made a general statement, then I'm sorry for stating the obvious. For the points you made, I think it's fairly easy to see the "intruder" Wink brought us the real viral.

But I'll be damned, if I wasn't curious what the hell is hiding on COG...if you create a login there must be something you put there, right? Well, not necessarily, but it's the usual order of things.

As for Comic Con, there is exactly one person on the entire net that has seen Wanted/Missing posters and "lived to tell". And yeah, other than that and followers on Twitter (probably all from ARGFest), nobody seems to know about this.

Edit: The AJ Harrington is the one who did the image map on the site. That person seems to be real, by thr way. Even though he "died". That has got to be strange. I take it this was done to prevent people contacting him, because he wanted nothing to do with it, but accidentally left his author tag in the image map. Then again, why does he follow all the characters on Twitter...
However, until recently I thought this was the webmaster that Linda Garcia was talking about. Got it all mixed up. It's a little weird to contact the person on the whois, but apparently it was intended that way...I don't know.
Paperbound did it, let's see if something comes of it.

Oh, I'm sure I was just stating the obvious - I have a great tendency to do that. I can't even find a place where the two might link into one bigger game - Dr. Miller isn't listed as a character for log-in in the Arkhamcare game.

At Comic-Con, there were two panels about the "forensic psychiatry" of Batman - one was primarily related to Arkham Asylum and one was primarily related to the Joker himself. I stomached the Arkham Asylum panel (though I was HIGHLY disappointed by it - nothing they said in panel was new information and they seemed to greatly discount the intelligence of the group as a whole), but I didn't manage to get to the Joker panel. So it's very possible that something was missed there? I don't know.

I'm pretty curious about the CoG website log-in myself. I'm really hoping to hear something back about its purpose soon. I only contacted the person on the whois because I had to know on a personal level whether or not this was still worth looking into further.

i attempted to login to the arkhamcare website, but to no avail.

i put in dr. maga's email address into the login field (which worked) and then it asked for a password.

i then put in peter68, but it didn't work.

is there something i'm missing?
