flyers sound awesome! yeah we should use MySpace, FB, twitter, ARGnetcast, maybe invite key people who have a large social network. Who was gonna make T-shees? sounds lovely Smile signing up!

Agree that all of those are very good ideas. Will also ask for a mention on the argnetcast next week. Think it would be good if we space out our social media use a bit as we want to promote without being annoying. Wink

Yeah, we don't want to be annoying with it. Just push enough to get ourselves noticed... hehehe.

I just realized I've been spelling "fliers" wrong. That's what I get for being a Philly Flyers fan. Razz

I know a bit of web design, but not much, so if someone else wants to create a web page for the public to check out, that would be cool. ;D

Niiice, another Flyers fan.

And no, you can spell flyers either way. The y is more right I think.

Oh, well then, sweet!

Nice to meet another fan. I live with a Leafs fan, so sometimes it gets a bit violent around here...

I like it, but... I'm really bad for typos, especially on my laptop, so I can relate. I do think however somebody like "Levi" wouldn't want to make any errors such as misspelling. I don't know if you can edit it, but, if you could, that would probably make it better. I hope that doesn't offend you, I didn't mean it to.

Hi all, sorry about last night, once again it seems my head is determined to let me have no fun. Not much to add except for the email which took the same form as the mails other deputies received:

Quote:
Deputy Thunderwolf,

As one of the two leaders of the Com Team, you are one of my most important allies. It is essential that your team maintain the highest level of secrecy.

As we know, the Party is keeping close tabs on the Grotian Underground, though they may act as though we are just a minor inconvenience. To maintain our privacy, we need to create a new form of communication.

The primary goal of this team is to invent an easy-to-learn language for the Grotian Underground to use. The members of the movement may speak in English as normal, but when important information is being discussed in an open forum, this language will prove to be essential. Once you have created a language, you must share it with all GU members.

The secondary goal of this team will involve spreading the word and the importance of the GU to others on the Internet or in real life. You should openly share your attempts to spread this news, as the activity may encourage the same energy in others. The more ranks we have, the stronger we can be.

I am very optimistic about this team, and I hope you understand that the entire Underground relies on your skills. More from me later.

Thank you.

M.S./S.M.

sounds like we need to get on a recruitment drive. Also, bear in mind that the GU Network is essentially a public network - that is to say there is nothing to stop the Party from reading forum posts there and discovering what the weekly ROT code is for our language. That information should be disseminated through private messages - the only time we should publically post what the codes are is if we are deliberately trying to steer the Party wrong. I may come across as paranoid, but they REALLY are keeping tabs on the GU right now, and we cannot afford even the slightest slip up at this early stage. I recommend keeping the language codes as is for now to allow the users to become au fait with them, and then informing everyone of a change in the codes via private message (I am happy to send said message out to all).

That said, well done on the Al-Bhed / ROT combination, I like it.

This was mentioned before do we want a Public facing Website? If so I have a web hosting company and will provide the space for fee afor this ARG. Registering a domain name (trustgu.com) is 10.89 at godaddy however (I can't do that for free) and private registration is a liitle more.

Do we have a Web designer who can make a nice site? (Note I can make a very an OK Site in Frontpage or use flash based site like WIX here is my music Website http://www.3rev.net )

How much do we want on the site? Waht should it contain?

Thunderwolf, I've already tasked PinkCloud with disseminating the weekly code, and she agreed to do it, so let's let her take care of that.

Since uF is OOG and just about everyone can access this site from anywhere, it makes the most sense to post here. We can see it right away, and we don't have to worry about delayed messages and emails as happened yesterday. A message I sent took six hours to get to me. If a code needs to be changed on short notice, this is the most practical place to do it.

As for a public site, I have mixed feelings. If there are too many places to visit, it may put off some people. We have the ning site which provides many options, and I think here and there may be the best places to drive people.

uF certainly seems like the best place to announce code changes. My main concern is public posting of information that should be secret. So if PinkCloud posts code changes here that solves most of the problem

I edited my post on ning and removed the ROT number for this week. Glad you're on board with posting them here as yesterday's delayed message solidified for me that uF is the best option.
