And I think they've got to understand that ARG's are a source of entertainment too, just like films. I think as long as we continue to work together (and we have been, as Tron-Sector is on the wiki and has been sourced for information within this thread) we'll be able to "solve the game."

Absolutely, and I hope I didn't come off like I was trying to play a "them vs us" sort of game here. I mean, clearly, a lot of people have joined these forums to help out and they wouldn't do that if they weren't Tron fans.

I'm just saying that, certainly for some people, the game is bigger than what it's advertising, and I think that can rub the serious fanbase types the wrong way.

I am personally a HUGE Tron nerd, I've been a fan back since I first saw it in theaters as a child. In fact, it was probably my favorite movie when I was younger (yes, even compared to Star Wars) because I was really into videogames and computers.

they sound like self-righteous douche bags.

The idea of an ARG is to make other-wise cult films available to the general public (thus creating more revenue.)

They should be happy that this thing is getting their asses any attention.

Just like those of us who aren't "true fans" are happy to be involved in something that, before virals, we wouldn't have been interested in.

Sounds like they're as stuck as us... Thus furthering my belief that this thing is cold right now.

Right, I would be shocked if anything happens on the trailer-unlocking front before Wednesday or Thursday at the ABSOLUTE earliest, since they clearly want the Tron fanbase to give Alice a little bump in ticket sales.

Also, from what people have said about the TDK game, we won't get regular activity until September or so. I'm fine with the occasional puzzle doled out until then, though!

Agreed. I don't think there will be anything for the trailer at all, though.

FYI:

I finally got to pick up my bit today.

It's one of the blue "neutral state" bits. Inside, I found some interesting letters... there are two strips of paper. One says, "do", and another says, "tio." It could have no relevance at all--but just wanted to post it just in case.

Pick up? Is this a new one? I thought they sent them out almost a month ago now.

I'd expect something more in the near-term.

I'm thinking those phones will start ringing soon as it's a lot to ask folks to be immediately available for an extended period.

Human nature will quickly render that avenue less viable as people forget to charge them, carry them or check them for messages. Plus the costs/hassle of keeping them all activated.

If my memory serves me right, the bit was delivered to his house and he's away at college, so he just got it now.

Yeah, I found his post saying that.
Have those notes been found before?

I'm pretty sure he's referring to shreds of paper used to package the bit. I talked a bit about them here: http://movieviral.com/2010/02/16/tron-legacy-mystery-package/

At this point I don't think anything is hidden within the packaging, and if it is, they'll give it to us another way since we haven't put them together.
