Regarding the phones...

Would it be feasible for those who are sure have had their hardware switched with someone else, do a simple swap with the other person?
If it's a matter of financing the shipping, PM Me as a pair and I'll PayPal you the shipping costs.
Then everybody will have the phone they're supposed to have for their city, be able to keep it charged and not have a roaming fee.

The preprogrammed number was likely to the local contact who actually PLACED the wallet. That number may never be needed again.

@Traffic Jammer: I am curious what you mean when you say you've needed to place several calls at the request of 42e.
Wasn't there just the one when you picked-up the phone that couldn't connect due to not including the international codes?

If 42E is replying to your emails saying you need to call them, I don't think they mean you have to call them from that specific phone. You should just call them from your home phone to their contact number on their site.

I can see how the non-US drops could have unforseen issues with the phone setups, as international calling can be tricky enough, especially when dealing with prepaid phones.

My guess is Traffic is the Toronto operative whose drop was taken before he got there. There were comments on the facebook page asking for the Toronto operative to call in, and the operative was having issues.

I am the Chicago operative. I arrived at 10:35ish. I was not fortunate enough to have a hot girl playing video games be my contact. The guy was playing Galaga in the Great Hall arcade of Union Station. I just walked up and said "Easter Egg." He handed me the phone charger and pulled up the Call Me number on the phone. He told me to call that number. He just handed me the items, no paper bag. As I was calling another guy walked up and gave the password. I had made it by 5 seconds! (Sorry Rob).

There was a small hiccup in the game when I was told to go out the north entrance of the arcade and stand under the giant American flag. I walked out both entrances and could not find a giant American flag. After about 5 minutes of looking around, the contact on the phone moved on and told me to go out a certain exit.

From that point on it was pretty smooth sailing. The drop was in a planter by the train station. Rob, the guy I barely beat, joined me for all of it, and 2 other guys stopped by 5 minutes later. I was being filmed during it, was anyone else? I even got the camera man to give me a ride back to work!

There's a lot of Tron Legacy related info at AICN right now (plus the post screening Q&A we've all read by now).

Seems you guys across the pond are gonna have to keep your eyes open for an ENCOM press conference. Also, jealous about the Tron ride!

Edit: much more obvious linky: http://www.aintitcool.com/node/44125

On a similar note in regards to AICN...Did everyone already see this Tron Legacy Movie Spy Picture of Encom HQ.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/40813

What is interesting is that this article was posted in April of 2009 - before the whole July Comicon stuff (so no one probably knew what Flynn Lives was at the time)...but movie Extras are seen wearing "Flynn Lives" Tshirts.

Sounds like the Flynn Lives Organization has a possible role in the movie.

If so - true to the nature of most ARG - we are becoming the extension of the movie out here in the real world.

Um... woah...
"at a forthcoming convention"...?

Edit(just noticed it had lists for other kinds of cons, too. I can read, i swear!) - list of all upcoming Cons:
http://www.upcomingcons.com/science-fiction-conventions

And if it might possibly happen at a non-sci-fi/fan con, there's Emerald City Comic Con(Seattle, WA) & MegaCon (Orlando,FL) the weekend March 13th.

I am also hoping to see some Flynn Lives/ARG action during the upcoming Penny Arcade Expo here in Boston (march 26 - 2Cool. Given that Boston was one of the drop cities, but not involved in the screenings (and that we are home to the original digital production company that did most of the work on the first film), I have my fingers crossed that we will see more action soon either way.

Don't know where this would go..... this seems as good as place as any.... mods feel free to put it where it goes if I made a mistake.

Since we all know that the Legacy trailer will be screened before Alice in Wonderland, I am going to ATTEMPT to video it and post it online (if I don't get tossed from the theater). Hopefully my camera can film it correctly with the 3D viewing. (Maybe put the glasses in front of the lens?) I plan on going to the 11:00am PST showing out here and hopefully can get it uploaded when I get home.

Anyone think this is a really BAD idea and shouldn't try??? Smile

Yes. Besides the obvious law breaking you would be committing it would compromise your personal viewing of it.
