Ah, you mean the unofficial, completely fan-theorized timeline?

Yea, I enjoy reading those, but understand that as far as I'm concerned- until it says so in the game, it isn't canon.

tron blog

this looked interesting: http://blueskydisney.blogspot.com/2010/03/electronic-chatter.html

A lot of speculation, but interesting, nonetheless.

Ah, but I didn't see that when I was looking at the pretty pictures. Anyway, I became aware of it afterward from the site. But I don't consider quoting a fansite to be particularly convincing. I rank it with quoting wikipedia.

Tron Wiki

This is being built as I type this http://tron.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page. I'm actually watching the pages go up every time I refresh.

Edit: looks like it's been around a while longer than I realized... just happened to catch during some updates.

This has been built specifically for the ARG, and pages are still going up:
http://tron.wikibruce.com Wink

Personally, I link over to the Tron wikia for franchise/universe content and info, but try to keep this wiki specifically for archiving the ARG content (and as easily navigable as possible), trying not to compete... though I fully expect the arg content to get archived on the Wikia over time as well Smile

He was referring to the IG timeline, broklynite.

But this is all beside the point. I don't think there is anything relevant in the code you opened up.

Honestly, I think most people are jumping at shadows in hopes of finding a clue that doesn't exist.

If AICN.com was accurate in their report, our next clue will be during the press conference. That's been the best lead, yet.

And knowing how efficient 42E is, they won't reveal any traces until the very last second. So, there won't be any changes in coding or sites until that exact moment. It's something I realized and found very impressive during TDK.

@TheBruce: Great! Glad to have such a pro keeping the viral wiki straight! You guys did a fantastic job making TDK's viral wiki a valuable in-game resource! XD

I feel the need to point out to people that while it may be 42E, Tron isn't TDK. Much as I love the movie, I recognise that it simply won't have the large-scale appeal, and I suspect that they won't have the same budget. On the other hand, what does Disney care about spending a little money? I really, really just don't know. All I'm saying is to be wary comparing it to TDK too much mebbe.

A comparison between this game and the one for TDK may be more relevant than you'd think. This game is already progressing in a surprisingly similar manner as the one for TDK. Provided that the budget isn't as large as it was for TDK's game, it would make sense to use a game structure that is already developed and proven, rather than to take the time (and money) to create a new one from scratch. Presumably, the amount of swag sent won't be the same, nor will the number of events. However, even with certain reductions to meet a budget, you can maintain a similarity to the game style of TDK and have an effective campaign.

Good point.

In the strange world of pure speculation, anything's a possibility.

I get the feeling that similarities between the activities of the 2 games, to date have more to do with Disney's um... ability? to micromanage than any lack of vision or capital.

did anyone consider PAXeast to be the location of the press conference? it's going to be huge (its sold out actually). Wouldn't surprise me if they snuck it in a convention like they did with comicon. It's in Boston though.

I dunno. A comicon is concerned with various areas of speculative fiction, beyond just comics- it extends to books, movies, cartoons, video games. I've never been to any of the PAXs (nobody ever holds conventions here in NYC anymore, thanks to the Lunarians) but my understanding is that it's a big gaming convention, primerily concerned with just that- games. It wouldn't seem....appropriate?

1) This did start more than a year prior to release (July 09, correct?)

Actually, the teaser was first shown a year earlier at Comic-Con '08, with a TR2N logo instead of the official Tron Legacy title. I would love to see that version of the teaser be part of the rewards of this game.
