I expect nothing less than Xbox live-style achievements with this game. In fact, given it uses Flynn's programming from 20 years ago, long before the concept of the achievement was fully realised, it would prove once again that Flynn was ahead of his time!

But yeah, a community effort to discover these would be fun, and easiest to organise in IRC. There's a real likelihood of oddball achievements like losing epically, as well as the standard "beat the game" style achievements, and I expect a few achievements for our Flynn Lives profiles, too.

Re those collector cards: I have 2, can I get 2 Bits? Razz (I be jokin of course)

It's all speculation at this point, all I know is that I hope SPO is more than just an online game. If it doesn't have some ARG ties it will be a bit of a letdown. Granted, it's a free online game and I should just be grateful, but I think it would be a great transition into more of the ARG, especially given all the comments about using Kevin's code and what not.

On the cards, you can get those cards on eBay all day long on the cheap, unless you mean the ones from Zero Hour specifically because of the Pit Cell image on the back. Those would qualify as rare since they were only available for Zero Hour but no one seems to be after them too hard, heck, Lex and Sowas have already offered theirs for Bits! Laughing

Hmm... to Bit or to Card... =P yeah, I think the Bits are a little more valuable Smile and I did mean the event cards, not just the standard collector's set cards, heh. Those you might even be able to find in some comic stores... or maybe not, dunno.
guh. I just got that painful feeling again, remembering standing just above the arcade drop and completely missing the boat. :'(

Looking forward to enjoying Space Paranoids, if I can get away with it here at work.

By the way, the event cards (I believe) are actual copies of the original cards - they definitely have the original backs, and not the Pit Cell backs. However they do have that UV Flynn Lives logo on them!

I'd bet that if there are any special awards, they haven't been envisioned by the creators, yet and will occur as an afterthought for one or more of the players doing something epic.
It might be awarded immediately, at the conclusion of the campaign or in the form of a trailhead for the next effort. Then again, that last option is something I've never been able to figure out.

Or what if part of the game was to go after a red, a yellow, and an orange lightcycle?

I thought they had the Pit Cell image on the back, shows what I know! In that case you can definitely keep them, my Bit is way cooler than an old card with a UV stamp! Razz

2.5 hours to go if the timer is to be trusted this time...

Do you suppose that after this is all done with, there will be some way that we'll be able to download the game? I'd hate to think that eventually the site is taken down and a game created for all of this is just tossed to the curb.
