Using WSS as an example, I believe 42E is perfectly capable of holding a major event on the east coast. Both final events of the ARG (I'm talking about the bat signal and the joker signal) were in two cities of the west coast - New York and Chicago.
I'm not sure how smoothly the event ran but I don't doubt that it would be similar to the SF press conference.

However it could be story based.

TDK takes place in Gotham City, which most people have presumed to be on the east coast, and the city seems to resemble New York and Chicago a lot (the Chicago resemblance obviously being that it was filmed there).

Likewise, the story of Tron can be assumed to be a story that takes place on the west coast, which is why major defining events of the story take place there.

This post is completely OT. I think I *might* have been invited to a new ARG about to begin but I'm not sure and I wanted to ask people if anyone else got similar notices. Where do I post that? I checked the FAQs and they say nothing.

That's interesting. I've never heard anyone call Chicago that before. sorry, a bit OT.

In the 80s, which cities were real tech powerhouses, besides like of California? That could give us a clue as to where the events should be popping up...

Two phone calls yesterday!

I try calling the number back, and get a "we're sorry, the number you are trying to reach is out of service..." and I'm thinking, YES, this is great! My mind is racing, I'm thinking that maybe the number is an IP address, a clue that I should come and post up...

...and then I look up the number, it turns out to be a collection agency that is known for spoofing caller ID.
