Supposedly he announced that the original TRON was going to be released on Blu-ray this November, but there have been huge problems confirming this.

Tron-Sector first reported this and I followed up that I was unable to confirm, but getting solid info (so far) that TRON is *not* on Disney HE's November release schedule. For now. I elaborated here if interested.

That's the most I've heard from Canada so far, which wasn't much. I was also told that no one was allowed to bring *any* electronic devices to the panel. That would slow down news reports considerably!

I was in the session, and it was pretty good. Yeah, no recording devices whatsoever, and it started a little late because they were still finding items in the audience they had to remove.
The first part was about the video game Tron Evolutions - now I'm really interested in it
They showed the trailer in 3D and 7 minutes of footage in 3D which had 'not yet been shown in Canada' - it was the scenes leading up to Sam's foray into the game arena; getting picked up by the recognizer and transported to the uniform room with the four girls, getting suited up for the games. Some of it I'd seen, some was new. All of it was awesome.
And Bruce Boxleitner showed up for some Q&A time with the audience.

It was then I wished I'd thought about taking in a notepad to write notes - the answer to no electronic devices Razz

What I primarily took from the session was that they are VERY focused on making this franchise a) gamer friendly, and b) consistent. The game is no a "movie game", it's a prequel that tells the story between the original Tron and the film. It's independent and is very much in tune with the movie. A lot of content is referenced back and forth for added reward for those who see the film and gamers who play the game. Gaming was always the primary theme of Tron, so gamers are forefront in their demographic. Olivia Wilde voices Quorra in the video game, and while they filmed the movie, they had the video game in mind (cast & crew).

I'm very much more excited about the Tron franchise now, to say the least Smile

I went to the line to get Bruce's autograph, but found that only one item could be autographed. I brought a number of items, unable to decide what to get autographed - I was hoping to get something from among a poster, Encom guest badge, Bit, or SPO pin autographed to raffle for the community, but my first priority was an autograph on my Encom badge Confused sorry, all. And the line was moving quick so no time for a video really, plus when I asked him about the Encom press conference, he wasn't very responsive, so not sure if his mind was just elsewhere or wasn't allowed to say anything Razz either way, pics from the expo will be up shortly, and I'll link.

I did, however, pick up a Tron poster and a plastic ID disc (frisbee? haven't tried it yet) to figure out how to give away Smile

They're not all that impressive, but they are nice. (the photo btw was colour adjusted from a pic against a window towards the sky =) it doesn't glow, it's transluscent blue plastic)
They were being given out by the booth Quorra-girls if you answered trivia right, and later in the expo they were tossing them to the crowds at 12 minutes past every hour along with Flynn Lives tshirts.
Before they started that, if you spotted someone there wearing Flynn Lives, you knew they were somewhat following the game. After the swag grab, who knows. I talked to one guy wearing it saying 'nice shirt', and he basically said 'yeah man, I got it at the Tron booth yesterday, they were giving out to the crowd'... so, *shrug*

I haven't seen the smaller disc from SDCC, but from the pics I've seen, it's nicer than than this frisbee disc. But it's still cool Smile

that would have been cool to attend. That IS a nice swag piece, that disc.

Thanks for the info and pics!

When would they be coming to Dayton? lol

Btw, I played the game at SDCC and I liked it quite a bit. I did the combat stuff, seems deep with lots of combos to learn and such.

I'm a little ticked about the Flynn Lives shirts. Several of us who've been playing this ARG for a long time don't even have the shirt. Now they're just gonna hand them out like they're nothing to ppl who barely care? I'm sorry, but WTF?! I'm sorry that I went a bit OT and ranted but come on, I can't be the only person who feels this way.

You're not the only one and I'm willing to try to trade to get a shirt too.
